@@TheGamingDefinition as far as I know they will be upgraded yes👍🏼, it makes some of the late game tournaments quite difficult, especially the drag tournament that happens late game
I could create a plugin for the game that disables this prompt. I remember messing with this at one point and finding this piece of code and wondering what it's about.
The reason for the corners sticking out of walls is due to unfortunate inherent inaccuracies of the collision data format. They're using 16-bit values to define walls' positions and sizes for each map section which, as you might imagine, isn't ideal for accuracy. That's why when you rub the wall the wrong way, you just get stuck in it sometimes (and why that shortcut you're taking bumps you off). It works _well_ _enough_ but it's not perfect. They traded off accuracy for speed, which is completely fair.
Did NFS Most Wanted also use 16-bit values to define wall positions and sizes? Because I remember not only crashing while wallriding, but also seeing Kuru having done the same thing.
The rubber banding on some of the knock out races had to of not been tested when this game came out. It was sooo insane when I played this game a year back. The mx-5 though, if you upgrade it, does corner like a beast. It makes sense it carried you through most of the game.
Agreed, though the Miata is best at drift. It's not great on track due to lack of power and terrible gear ratios. Peugeot 206 and RX-7 are the two cars to run. Also don't widebody the RX-7. It's better to have a lower width profile to get through tight situations.
The city looks absolutely amazing. Especially with "proper" hardware, aka. a relatively small CRT and a PS2/XBOX. In newer games, despite the "photorealistic" graphics and huge textures, it's almost as if they never even think about how the environment ACTUALLY looks like in practice. Headlights and streetlights are just there. Buildings are just buildings. Billboards are billboards. Have they never looked at the headlights, and thought that maybe they could add just a little bit of glare and tracing? Maybe the buildings could have some simple ornaments that make them look more alive? How about using different hues and varying contrasts in the textures of certain elements, rather than just automatically relying on modern lighting and real time shadows to do the trick?
1:12:20 this is the exact moment when the game threw all the pretenses out the window and made Melissa go super saiyan, as a last ditch effort to stop you from getting what is without a doubt the holy grail of NFS Underground achievements. Regarding the last drag event, it is not impossible. As you mentioned, you just need a lot of luck and every opponent needs to crash out. I think Kuru recently was able to do that.
Kuru won drag races against boss so it was 1vs1. There are 3 oponents so you have to be super super super super super lucky to crash 3 of them. I am not sure it's even possible.
@@smaajlik2423not super rare unless traffic is off. from my experience it's about 1 in 10-20 races all of them crash. Depends on the track too i guess but still.
It's crazy watching these old games back, barely recognising stuff like the map until certain sections pop up, or even the HUD overlay styling. It's like watching something new all over again. But I definitely remember the drift stages 😂 As you talk about branching out, I know you've done CoD campaign 'challenges' to an extent on the hardest difficulties before, but maybe you could take it further and force yourself to take on a challenge on your favourite CoD campaigns. Maybe one level (that allows it) could be knife only, one could be a speed run using all the movement cheese techniques you possibly can, another could just be you trying to flick on heads as fast, perfect and aimbotty as possible. Idk, dumb idea maybe but perhaps it could help bridge the gap to your new stuff for older viewers who need that FPS fix too. Or maybe you could do something entirely different like the goated original Splinter Cell trilogy 👀 I bet they'd be glorious on PC I'm trying to think of specific games or genres that lend themselves to self-imposed challenges but I'm struggling lol Edit: the AI was cheating at the end. How disappointing. Damn aimbot glasses users Edit 2: catching up on the last 15 minutes. The race with TJ was insane. How the ☠️

"If you don't have upgrades, the AI doesn't get them either" This is only true for the early races in the game. From 37:01 onwards their car performance starts to creep upwards, it isn't a consistent upwards trend however, sometimes the upgrades/speed they have is different per race. I don't know the specifics on this, but there's a reason I had to spend 2-4 hours repeating INDIVIDUAL races to complete them which never happened early on, even against the very same cars :)

When I saw the title , all I thought about was rece #95 #101 and Melissa 😂 also when drag racing with any awd car you need to shift after the car straightens up, if you shift while it's still sideways after the launch it's gonna fall out of the power band, so it's a bit tricky. I believe you could of still won that really hard drag race with the stock skyline once you had the launch down and pray that the AI crashed as well which they do once you stay close to them. This was pretty entertaining james, loved it!
Melissa gave me nightmares for weeks. As for the final drag race, I’m 99% sure it isn’t possible to win traditionally without upgrades, they’re all fully upgraded & even with perfect driving the stock r34 isn’t fast enough. I tried about 20 attempts without upgrades and it led nowhere, even when employing many different strata
James, what do you think about doing a "if you lose you have to restart" challenge. you get to buy/upgrade cars as much as you want but if you lose any race/drift/drag, you have to restart the entire run.
That would be an incredibly tough challenge in any racing game, but would be a fantastic achievement. I think I’ll keep it in mind but avoid it for now as that would be very time consuming 🤣

Underground 2 is the best by far. 1 is second. I could probably do all these races with my eyes closed I still remember every route and turn...and I haven't played 1 in years. I drive manuals in real life but in games always auto. I hate shifting in games unless the arcade with the actual shifter
how do u fix the resolution for this game on pc? I dont see no widescreen options... is it really that old school? lmao I swear we had widescreen by 2003
A couple of things. You'd have done better not using the Miata. Not a very good car outside of drift. The best cars are the Peugeot 206 (starter car) or the RX-7. The Skyline is actually an awful car to run. Well done on the completion though.
Did you just call a 2G Eclipse an ugly car, whilst driving a Miata? And also question how it could be leading the race over base model lancers and a Miata? Stones, meet glass house. If you need an education on how fast a turbo eclipse can be, I'm sure I can educate you. ;)

I've quit CoD multiplayer and have no intention of going back to it. I might make singleplayer challenge videos on the franchise, or revisit spec ops, but that's it, the content I used to make is gone for good. The games have become something I no longer enjoy and barely resemble the games that made them great in the first place. There's no place for MnK on the modern CoD games either.
@@TheGamingDefinition I'd like to hear your thoughts in a video summarising everything, would be interesting to see your perspective and what were the final blows as well as how much enjoyment you're getting from alternative games. It doesn't need to be over cod footage. Would be nice, up to you of course! If you want to just leave it as that it's fine. Btw do you like platformer games?
@somerandomfellow8321 honestly I’m so done with the franchise that even doing that is more effort than it’s worth IMO, nothing is going to change so I’m just moving on :)
@@TheGamingDefinition Fair enough, I respect that. Some people quit cigarettes one day and never look back and don’t feel the need to explain it to anyone. You still going to play any online FPS games or just single player ones?
Call Of Duty is over & has been over for a while on the channel. A reminder for those that don't know, I have quit CoD, I won't be playing/trying nor creating content on MW23 nor any CoD multiplayer moving forward. I'm done with the franchise, I'm done with my old content format, I have no love/enjoyment for it anymore & am happily making moves with what I do now. It's trial and error for sure, but the positivity & love I've been receiving with this new content has meant I'm actually able to read comments & engage with the community again. CoD videos were plagued by negativity & unwarranted hate, if I chose to look at the comments I'd be blocking people more than engaging with anyone, not worth the time. Now I'm able to have weird & wonderful conversations of all different natures, share passion & love for the games being played, or find out new & interesting information on the topics at hand. I turned off comments on most older CoD videos as I don't want to see any of the above negativity anymore, hackusations, or if they weren't based in negativity, it was just people asking for class setups/video settings/sensitivity lmao. Besides, none of the comments are relevant to what I'm creating moving forward anyway. All the videos will stay public & I'm sure there's a lot of good stuff on the channel you probably haven't seen yet. I appreciate some of you have been saddened by this news, it's hard to wrap my head around the fact that some of you are even remotely bothered by me no longer continuing CoD, but I know from my own personal experiences that it's weird when a creator you watch suddenly makes content on different games or switches things up completely. It means a lot to me to see that some of you care as much as you do, I cherish closely the fact you enjoyed the content I used to make, but I have truly decided it's for the best that I move away from the content I used to make, this isn't a decision that's happened overnight, I was considering this very motion ever since my first shadowban from MW2019 back in mid 2020. To further reinforce my decision, back when I actually had contacts at the company, in email correspondence "Corruptivision" kept putting the blame on me for getting reported instead of them taking responsibility for their incompetently constructed, EXPLOITABLE tempban/shadowban system. It always meant I'd be gaining momentum with content/streams, just to lose it all because I couldn't play for a week. Now imagine if you were in my position, it wouldn't make you feel secure in your job position would it? It isn't sustainable to play older CoD games anymore either as they keep pulling the plug on content, servers & other things, they eventually become security risks as vulnerabilities are exposed, new ones frequently temp ban you for a week just for being good at the game, they aren't even fun enough to warrant enduring this nonsense. CoD clients have too many hardcore veterans that ONLY play those respective games with the tryhard weapons every single game, no variety means it isn't fun like OG matchmaking, yeah sure you used to occasionally find those players, but on clients you'll end up against them every game, or if they ARE on your team the server will empty in minutes. I like a challenge, I like close grudge matches against skilled/talented individuals & testing my own strategies & individual skill against theirs, a back and forth tug of war if you will, you win some you lose some, but not every single match on old, clunky severely outdated game(s) The channel isn't shifting entirely to a focus on racing games however, I want to put my FPS & gaming skills in general to use, crafting unique or vastly difficult playthrough challenges, add the odd achievement hunt here & there too for good measure. But I want to maintain consistently keeping the entertainment/production value as high as I can consistently maintain myself. I'm also trying to improve my content a little each time, fix something that I did wrong last time or maybe just improve upon a previous entry. Lastly, I'm considering finally changing the channel name to something a little shorter & more personalised to me, I will be brainstorming ideas until I find a name I 100% like. Thanks for reading & thanks again for aiding me in doing what I love for all these years! Don't be sad CoD is over, be happy it happened, I'm happy to have had you all along for the journey so far, but here's to different avenues & better opportunities!
I wasn’t saying it’s like dark souls in that sense, I meant it was difficult to the point of becoming a souls like of the racing variety. Meaning one wrong move and I lose everything like a boss battle
SPOILER: Yes. 'Cause both this and Undergroud 2 level your opponents based on your car's upgrade status. It's actually possible to cheat hard races this way: remove upgrades from you car and race against stock opponents, making the car easier to control and the rubber banidng less severe.

I bought the game, I have a few other challenges to edit first before I give it a go, but I’ll try my best with it!
And you play need for speed, def moved up my RUclips ranks 💯
45:34 ayo Yuri's Revenge music
This is my favorite nfs game i think
Good choice, very fun game from start to finish
Hi, love watching your old COD videos but this content is cool as well. Just wondering, why are comments turned off on your older COD videos?
Hey thanks, I got fed up with people commenting negative things, calling me a hacker or asking me to play CoD again. I've quit CoD & I'm in the process of moving away from it completely.
Underground 2 is the best by far. 1 is second. I could probably do all these races with my eyes closed I still remember every route and turn...and I haven't played 1 in years.
I drive manuals in real life but in games always auto. I hate shifting in games unless the arcade with the actual shifter
great video, and a really tough challenge :D
Holy shit. I got me some goosebumps. TGD, you're a real bro for creating this video. :D
Thank you very much friend :)
Is there a possibility we will see some multiplayer games on the channel? Maybe some multiplayer racing games or smth else?
Very unlikely, I don't plan on playing multiplayer games for content. Singleplayer challenge content is a lot of fun for me personally
Nice to meet you James
Hello Rob, welcome!
We need both remastered for new consoles
Loving the video! I have a challenge for you:
Call of Duty Modern Warfare - Veteran Difficulty - Pistol Only
What do you think?
It's hard to only ever use pistols as I don't think every mission has access to them, might take a look though
this is the part with the car
how do u fix the resolution for this game on pc? I dont see no widescreen options... is it really that old school? lmao I swear we had widescreen by 2003
It would be great if you start NSFU2
i didn´t see the video, but you probably got bullied by the rubberband S2000.
Surprisingly wasn’t the worst opponent!
You dont race in nfsu. You dodge traffic. 😂
how i can play nfs underground on pc?
A couple of things. You'd have done better not using the Miata. Not a very good car outside of drift.
The best cars are the Peugeot 206 (starter car) or the RX-7. The Skyline is actually an awful car to run. Well done on the completion though.
Why are you telling me this when I stated I'd use the MX5 to make things a bit harder?
Feel like Underground 1 Aged better than Underground 2. Most Wanted and even Carbon aged LEAPS and BOUNDS better than both though.
UG1 definitely poses a better challenge than UG2 which makes it better IMO
Did you just call a 2G Eclipse an ugly car, whilst driving a Miata? And also question how it could be leading the race over base model lancers and a Miata? Stones, meet glass house. If you need an education on how fast a turbo eclipse can be, I'm sure I can educate you. ;)
Don't care how fast it is when it's that ugly lol.
Teslas are fast af too right? Wouldn't want one because they're ugly
James, will you be uploading any mw3? I’ve been waiting for content from you 😭😭😭😭
I’ve genuinely quit that for good
@@TheGamingDefinition Ahh man, you’re literally the only guy I watch for COD content. My heart genuinely hurts to hear you say that. I know MW2 was fkn dog shit but I wanted to see what you think of mw3.
I just wished they’d put the mw2019 engine into mw3. These lot are fkn twats
Don't be sad it's over, be happy it happened. I appreciate the fact you viewed those videos though thank you. I recommend: Nate Gibson, ExoGhost, Strahfe or Eefan if you want a similar style of content to what I used to make :)
Love this game and video
I wonder why you chose the R-34 instead of the Eclipse, if my memory serves me right it was better in this game.
Because it's better
@@TheGamingDefinition really? to this day I was sure that the Eclipse was better in NFSU, but the Skyline was better in NFSU2. then again I haven't played either in a decade. thanks for the response!
The eclipse might be better than the skyline with upgrades, but without, I found the skyline to be far better.
At least in the final race, my main goal was to blast past the other racer at the start as that’s the only opportunity to overtake
are you playing mw3? as you seemed to enjoy ground war on mw2019
I respect it, I keep getting sb's still even in the new one, its quite ridiculous game, ever tried other games like rust?@@TheGamingDefinition
Of nobody does that with a stock car i will do it
aero kit makes it invalid.
No it doesn’t, it does NOTHING to the car performance I already checked.
Based gamer great vid
crazyyyyyyyyy
Why are you not playing MW3 at all? try it out, maybe your viewers will like it
No I won’t try it, I’ve quit that style of content for good.
damn dude :(@@TheGamingDefinition
Can you please post moabs i miss you bro
No
@@TheGamingDefinition 🥺
So u not gonna play mw3?
Nope
@@TheGamingDefinition 😔you will be missed.
Where’s the mw3 videos
I like a challenge, I like close grudge matches against skilled/talented individuals & testing my own strategies & individual skill against theirs, a back and forth tug of war if you will, you win some you lose some, but not every single match on old, clunky severely outdated game(s)
The channel isn't shifting entirely to a focus on racing games however, I want to put my FPS & gaming skills in general to use, crafting unique or vastly difficult playthrough challenges, add the odd achievement hunt here & there too for good measure.

Come on mate, make Modern warfare III great again.
If you only want to see CoD, time to unsub
mate... calling the rubberbanding and literally cheating enemy AI "dark souls equivalent" is an insult to dark souls
No it isn’t 😂 stop being a snowflake
@@TheGamingDefinition what do you mean snowflake? dark souls is very very rarely unfair. its just difficult
Not true, no.
You can accept Sam’s time trails , it’s only visual upgrades like hoods , rims, body kits and Etc.
