The baby talk, the talking slowly and loudly, the wide eyes and smiles, the "awwwww", and then talking to another person about you and completely ignore you is beyond insulting. We need more vids like this coming from us disabled people.

Yeah, right now I'm busy with grad school. But trust me, more is on the way.

Holà Gabe, great video and I’m autistic and I’ve also experienced infantilization. I hate it when people talk to me like I’m a little kid when I’m 24 years old. I drive and have a license, I’ve did internships, I’ve worked before, I got my associates degree and I’m almost done with my bachelor’s degree, I can do a lot of things Independently, and many people get surprised. I was called the r slur as a kid and I was on special education classes and I was bullied in school and ostracized by my peers because I was different. I was told I couldn’t work, go to college, nor drive a car, live independently because of my Autism and I proved alot of people such as my Sierra regional counselors and caseworkers wrong. I overcame a lot of barriers in my life.

Yeah man, it's the worst. I'm proud of you for proving people wrong. Keep going. I'm about to get my masters degree. What is your bachelor's in if you don't mind me asking?

That one dimensioness is actually shared among us humans, it has to be even among disabled people, whenever it is hard do understand it just occurs. I believe it to me related to this concept called "alienación" it was a concept from sociology, I tried to translate it to English but I was not able to find the definition I am using. Which basically implies the incapacity for being able to think further a concept. In this example, the concept would be the perception of abled bodied people towards disabled people. I would also think you would have been a taller dude had you had a normal body development. I am abled bodied and I recognize you, I have told you several times that you are a thinker above the average.

Yeah I don't think there is an exact English word that captures that. I mean the cognate "alienation" is more being set apart from people because of something you did, or a characteristic, but it's not like a characteristic of people. I know and I appreciate that. Also I have a friend with my same condition and in a chair also and he's like 6'2". I probably would have been like 5'9" or 5'10", which in the land of giants is not that tall hahaha.

@@RespawnRevenge I know exactly how you feel. It's important to really take mental health days and really know when to step back because it can easily get to be a problem, like you say.
