Really insightful. Great designers put so many efforts in every aspect of car design. Being able to deliver a monologue about each line of a car is a testament to how much the design is flesh out. Bravo.
Thank you so much. Indeed, they make it seem easy but there’s is a huge amount of tears, sweat and hard work going on behind the curtains. That’s what makes it even more frustrating to hear people dismiss it with a simple “it’s a reno/pug/kia/whatever”.
Looking so much forward to change from my Giulietta - in which I've enjoyed flawless 200.000km - to the Junior IF there's enough room in the back seats.
Great work mate you're a natural 🍀🍀I think this might be the ideal city car for me. Going to put a deposit down on an Elettrica 280 Veloce as soon as it's available in the UK
But why they didn’t use the digital cluster of the Giulia/tonale . It fills the cannocchiale and is not a square display. Also the key fob I would have used a different one instead to use the Peugeot/citroen one with the Alfa logo, same for the dna button. Overall I like it but I wish there will be a more powerful hybrid version.
Nice successor for MiTo and Giulietta. Appreciate this car more and more (I recently saw it in real life). Good and interesting interview with the designer. (p.s.: delete the background music next time. It distracts from the conversation and does not meet accessibility requirements)
Thank you so much! Also grateful for the “technical” input, as we’re only starting with proper video production, will tone the music down a notch for the next one. What do you mean by accessibility requirements?
@@alfattitude about accessibility requirements: A video may not meet W3C standards if there is background music while someone is speaking for several reasons: Clarity and Understandability: Background music can interfere with the clarity of spoken content, making it difficult for people with hearing impairments or auditory processing disorders to understand what is being said. Distraction: For individuals with attention disorders, background music can be distracting, making it harder to focus on the spoken content. Assistive Technologies: Assistive devices like hearing aids and cochlear implants may struggle to separate speech from background noise, reducing the effectiveness of these technologies. Cognitive Load: Background music can increase cognitive load, making it more challenging for people with cognitive disabilities to process and understand the information1. @@alfattitude what I said is confusing because I'm including Cupra when I say SEAT. Something about this car's design language looks like a cross between a Peugeot and a Cupra to me. I admit that it's highly subjective, and I drive a Giulia Quadrifoglio, so the fact that I would have liked them to go in a completely different direction might play into it. :)
Very narrow minded view on what makes an Alfa. Did you watch the reviews where they're testing how it drives? Looks like it has a spirit to it that is typically Alfa. Making Electric cars fun to drive is a smart way to differentiate from the rest of the EV market.
Alejando - too late was waiting for lat 20 years, now in my late 40's I'd rather go for dacia, and Junior - my god , Milano should be her name , despite italiano governmento plroblemo
Just came back from BMW, first car in the showroom was a 1 series for … wait for it… 55 000 euro! Wait for it ! 160cp DIESEL ! They went insane ! Then I came back to Alfa and saw this gorgeous little gem for under 30k hybrid. It’s slow, it has Renault parts blah blah … I stood in a chair and looked at this tiny gem and FELT something! People can do what they want with their money but my bottom line was always: am I smiling coming at it, am I looking back after I parked. When you fall in love you don’t ask can you cook, do you have a good job, do you eat a lot … you look at that persons personality, uniqueness and dedication to making you happy. In this sense it’s a great car … much better can than a Polo, the Peugeot that it’s based on, the Opel Mokka that you just throw your groceries in. It’s more than it’s spec sheet and not many cars today do that.
These "designers" should be moved to vans section to design i.e. Renault Kangoo where nobody is interested in how the car looks. But then they would end up with 1.2 puretech hybrid which half of the time would spend in service for repairs. And the cargo space would be diminished by half because of unnecessary embossings 😂 Unfortunetely these are the people that will design next generation of stelvio and giulia - and probably they will make them as hideous Peugeots 🤮 As stelvio user - #leave_next_stelvio_alone #shame_on_you_for_renault_captur_headlights_and_scudetto_from_mitsubishi_asx #not_buying_this_crap
Beauty has defects … it’s small, the plastics are cheap, the base is slow but if you speak about an Alfa in terms of these technical aspects you missed the point. A beautiful painting is also cheap materials put together, music is just notes from wood or brass or meat, wine is fermented grapes … or it’s more. In this sense it is an Alfa.
Put proper 4 cyl engine at least 150 HP and later unleashed some competitor for Golf R, Audi S3 or Merc AMG35 with 300 HP 4wd. Do you think I AM dreaming about 3 cyl Alfa???
He just gave it all away. The car was developed in a short time. Look at the overall shape of the bonnet, front fenders and doors. Its Fiat 600e. Thats why half of the car does not look like an Alfa. Then the rear doors and the back of the car looks absolutely fantastic. So the designers had to squash their ideas into a shape that already half existed. It's a mess. And is shows.
Stellantis needs to have a global distribution network or they will fail and this is why alfa & lancia & fiat have failed (that's also why there are ugly over priced german cars everywhere because they make german cars in china and ship them to the world)

Giulietta is a superior class, with Tonale as the SUV equivalent. But go give the Junior a try yourself and see how it’s like.

Yeah - I know! But pricewise the Tonale is another league than the Giulietta 😢
Plus the brake lights, almost directly from the third generation Spider. Nice Easter egg from the designers
As Alejandro said, no exact reference given because Alfa never had a car of this class. But nice little hints here and there.

Its a contemporary car, with very subtle classic characteristics but very beautiful: it has soul.
