Agree. Lee is a great guitarist but theres only 1 H team. Im lucky enough to have seen Exodus live with all three vocalists. My old ass hasnt been to a show in awhile but if Hunolt came back I would go again
So good to listen to you two reminisce. I've been a fan since Fabulous Disaster and to me you are both indivisible from Exodus. The band is bigger than its touring lineup. Everyone who has been part of it, still is. Baloff, Dukes, Rob, JT, everyone. Getting teary eyed 😄
Fucking right Matt, I agree. Zetro has such a great memory for dates and events, and the way things were. Fuck I miss those goddamn days. Thank you Exodus, thank you Zetro, for making my teens, 20s and 30s such an awesome part of my life. You guys are so special in thrash metal history. It's unbelievable that we get to hear these old stories. Zetro, thank you man for these videos. Way the fuck up here in Ontario, Canada.. I listened to you guys since almost day one. College/univerity radio in Toronto was MASSIVE to the thrash scene. Vivid memories guys, still to this day. Love you Exodus. \m/ \m/
good to see rick. i remember standing behind you guys at another lesson in violence tour in 89. i think suicidal tendencies opened on that one. just crazy.
the coolest thing of crossing paths with rick was at a rave on some farm up in the north bay somewhere. i dunno how we stumbled across it, but there we were in a big hilly cowpatch, with a tractor trailer flatbed, a decent crowd, smart drinks....and rick rolls up with glow necklaces and a doctor seuss hat. it was a total shock. like summer 93. magic johnson woulda been less surprising. i used to see rick more randomly around the bay more than anybody else except maybe les claypool.
met Rick and had a beer on "Pleasures" at Harpo's on feb. 6/ 88' - MOD played 4 tunes then walked off after the bassist caught a bottle in the head - Billy was so pissed -also saw you on the Anthrax "Among" show 2 months prior on dec.6/87 you opened (with celtic frost) - great memories - Thanks for stopping around with "bay strikes back" show recently in London Ontario oct 1/2022 - come back soon Zetro !! 🤘🏼

Rick is a cool dude - he's been on my Facebook friends for 3 or so years and I've talked to him quite a few times.
I missed Bonded by Blood but I signed on when Pleasures of the Flesh came out when I was about 15. But I rode the whole Exodus wave with everyone in Michigan then. We played a few Exodus tunes at parties. We played pleasures and brain-dead if I recall. Along with the big four and the German big three, the 1980s ruled. I would say Slayer, Exodus and Kreator and Destruction were the four best bands of the 80s. But it's really hard to leave out Metallica and Megadeth. Later on here in Michigan, Testament, Forbidden, Death Angel and Vio-lence kicked our ass. Southern Michigan was pretty heavily influenced by the Bay Area metal scene. We usually saw these bands in Detroit at Harpo's or Blondies. Rosie ended up moving Blondies from Seven Mile up to Fort Street but I hear he recently closed it down, due to a murder occurring on the property.
All of these 80s bands wrote all of these super fast thrash riffs back then after being all jacked up on crank and meth. I guess they never figured when they turned 60 they would still have to hit the mark but without substance assistance.
Okay I'm just gonna throw this out there! Quad guitar attack. Gary, Rick, Lee and that dude Brandon that filled in for some shows. I've been watching his stuff since then. He smokes and he played those songs great! Has anyone done a Quad attack?
Also is that concert footage from the beginning uploaded in full form? Don't think I've seen this particular show on YT before, but the bass is f*****g incredible in this recording
You can kinda hear the accent Rick's talking about in a few things. The one that's really stuck in my head is on Another Lesson In Violence (Live). At the end of, And Then There Were None. When they're introducing Piranha and Gary says it ain't about no gold fish.
I have a question that has nothing to do with anything but the bay area. What would the fans back in the day, have thought of Slipknot if they had arrived on the scene back then to open up for Legacy or Exodus or Metallica, etc...? Just a thought. I'm asking because of how Slayer was admonished for showing up wearing eye liner. Slipknot comes in with thier masks. Are they accepted or do the fans revolt and then attack? We never had a scene here in Colorado. At least not a strong one. That's why I'm curious. And a bit jealeous. Thanks
Dude I was in the scene in 85 up and this dude is the real deal.i live in New orleans and respect the shit out of exodus.seen them uptown in the 80s and they ruled And needed coke after.haha
I fucking LOVE Rick Hunolt man! a genuine guy with a huge heart i wish that Exodus would bring him back ( no disrespect to Lee ) but Rick *IS* Exodus! and always will be.
Dude has more than proven himself clean/sober/reliable by now. Resurrect the H-TEAM! The thrash world would love it and we all know it.
Agree. Lee is a great guitarist but theres only 1 H team. Im lucky enough to have seen Exodus live with all three vocalists. My old ass hasnt been to a show in awhile but if Hunolt came back I would go again
@@pleasuretokill We need Exodus H-Team shows regularly in SF!
Have all three, Iron Maiden-style.
Agree💯
Bring back Dukes and Hunolt, Helloween have 3 guitarists and 2 singers!
Rick is legend. One of my music heroes!. 🎸🤘🏻
Well said! !⛧🤘

Don’t get teary eyed Matt !! I love your passion!! Thanks for being a loyal fan

Great Episode! ..Love Rick's tasty ass shredding and the H-Team assault! Rick, you need to do some videos showing your solos and trademark licks!
If you could find Rob McKillop anywhere, do a Toxic Vault interview with him.
SI, MI PIACEREBBE MOLTO. CHE FINE HA FATTO ROB??????
It's sad but Rob McKillop disappeared in 1993 and his whereabouts are unknown to date.

All Young Dudes Bonded By Blood 🔥
So great seeing Rick! Looking forward to part 2!
Something about Rick's lead playing that's hard to describe, dissonant yet effective to the listener's ears.
Love Ricks playing
I've always loved Rick's leads!!! Gary is awesome, but there has always been something about Rick's leads!!! Personal hero of mine!!!\m/
Laughing my ass off at the spandex part! Great interview, will watch part 2 tonight. Happy Thanksgiving Zetro, Walt and Rick.
Excelente escuchar estas historias del comienzo de Rick como guitarrista y cómo se unió a Exodus. Bonded by blood!!
Lo mejor de lo mejor Guido.

Zetro with the assasin tee shirt....an under rated german band for what they put out i think they recently put forth some stuff.
Legend 😎
Pacifica CA , Derby jackets , bell bottoms , black or dark red / tan linemen boots 👍 Ben Davis pants as well
I think Lee Altus is a Good Guitarist & a good fit
But I did wish Rick was still in EXODUS
I grew up on that early Exodus, live bootlegs blasting out of my 6x9's years before Bonded by Blood. I love it....
Spandexodus 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Seriously many thanks for the chat, looking forward to the second part.

Yes conquer is the word I used back in that age instead of rules.
Fucking Legend..
I love Rick. Any chance of Rob McKillop turning up for the Vault?
Didn't he have a band called "Thrash Fire" for a minute?
He got himself a new guitar
Do a Maiden and have Rick back in the band. Gary, Lee, and Rick ripping solos ALL OVER the album would be crazy. Lunatic Liar Lord was great
Awesome guys! \m/
