Met Rick at an Exodus show in NC like 92ish I wanna say was them, Body Count and I think Overkill not sure about the 3rd band hazy memory have to dig out the stub but between going to shows and concerts and shows with my own band probably played and went to over a thousand shows in my lifetime and have seen just about every band that's ever existed that I ever wanted to see and I've met many people in the business musicians and the like. Rick mentioned Nasty Savage those guys were good friends of ours we used to get them shows in North Carolina and they would in turn get us shows in Florida I still talk to Ben Meyer all the time but unfortunately my other close friend from that band Richard Bateman passed away a couple years ago, but yeah, what was so awesome is that they always one of my favorite bands and when I met them and wound up doing shows and becoming friends with them it was crazy and an honor. But anyway just remember meeting Rick because it was at The Mad Monk in Wilmington North Carolina, they have movie studios in Wilmington and Dennis Hopper was there at that show and met him also so that's why I remember the show so well, but Rick played foosball with us and did shots and smoked a big fat joint out my car he was cool as shit.

I remember when I was in the NAVY in San Dawg in 90. I had some friends from Tennessee and Kentucky on my ship that were Metallica fans through the roof but knew nothing else really, so i took them for a treat of Bay Area Thrash at IGUANAS in Tijuana featuring from my drunken memory I think, Mordred, Death Angel and EXODUS headlining. That night was fucking insane. I never saw so many broken and bloody bodies in the pit and ambulances being called since the Stone days in the early 80s. People were jumping from the balconies and the circular chain-link above the stage...It was manic. Hey ZETRO!!! Remember blurting out after some dude stage dived from the fencing above you and ate shit, landed on his head----"It's like FUCKING THUNDERDOME in here man!!!!" Great memories. A killer show.

Metal wasn't completely gone in the late 90's. They may not have done a ton of business but I still had staples like Overkill, Testament and Flotsam And Jetsam. \m/ I think they all put out some of their best records. And of course Pantera came in. But I never went away as a fan. I've been there and always will be. I think some of the thrash bands went chasing Black album money and some of them even going a bit alternative, the fans who were fighting grunge didn't like that and so those bands had poor sales and folded completely. I can only speak from my own perspective as a teen then.
