Thank you Dan for bringing another point of clarity to how fear is crucial in PDP. Being in your group, today I had a huge shift and commented in on our FB group that I'm finally feeling free from constant fear and am feeling in control of myself and not allowing fear to control me. I'm now running the show, not fear!
Yes, when we feel pain or very uncomfortable symptoms, it's natural to feel negatively as they can be scary or a concern when it's legitimate. However with PDP, since fear is the cause, we can learn not to be fearful. We can be ahead of the fear through knowledge and implementation.
I struggled baseline fear as the result of my abusive childhood. The dysfunctional manipulated messages had me believing the misinformed "stories" as I tried to relate to myself and to the outside world which never brought me clarity or a feeling of safety which perpetuated the fear. The fear was real, and my life was not based in solid reality in a healthy sense. An unsubstantiated perception of life, thus an unsubstantiated perception of fear and danger. PDP. If the stories are false I realize I have the choice to stop believing them, and I'm feeling safer being able to finally ESCAPE from the stories. I hope this makes sense.
I'm feeling so much better these days, less anxious, less depressed due to a new sense of freedom even though I'm dealing with issues. Some things are improving but I have a long way to go. I would have never thought I could feel this well mentally (not the best yet) this soon. It does work!
Thank you Dan for helping us all! We are grateful for your humanitarianism. Thank you for showing us that we're not broken. ❤️

Hey dan. I keep getting the thought that through abunch of videos I watch and interviews and podcast all about mind body syndrome. It seems like the symptoms never go away its just that people learn to control them better and lose fear. I have lost alot of my fear. I still go to work . I am going to the gym. I still take care of my 9 year old. And do everything I have to do. But the symptoms still stay around. Yea some weeks are better than others. But I guess I'm looking for re assurance that if I keep on this path the symptoms will burn out. I have came a long way . Before I was sitting at home on disability scared of any type of movement or pressure on my back. But now I am living my life and I am hurting anyway. I try my best not to give a crap but its still not good enough. I want to be able to go full throttle intensity with everything in life and the gym without constant pain and flare ups . I guess I'm just looking for hope.
Yes I've thought about the group coaching and looking into it but not sure what will get out of it. Because I feel I already have all the knowledge.
Looking for hope .. thanks Dan

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  Год назад +2

Symptoms do go away completely. This is not pain management learning to cope with the symptoms or pains. I have probably had about 2 months worth of symptoms for the past 14 years. We are not able to stop the subconscious brain from turning on pain or symptoms if it perceives a danger. It's a natural part of the system. But we CAN and many do learn not to fear symptoms.
When you know what is causing the symptoms and respond as if the symptoms do not matter, new symptoms or returning symptoms don't become chronic. If I get a tweak due to lifey stuff, it never lasts more than a few days. Rarely happens.
The fact you haven't achieved that result yet doesn't mean it's not possible.
Knowledge is not the cure. Doing what you have to do is not the cure. Implementation in teaching your brain you are safe IS the cure. Anger at symptoms is perceived as danger. Expecting symptoms can cause the brain to stay on high alert. Download my 11 mistakes document at PainFreeYou.com and ask yourself how many you are still making. You have made incredible progress in resuming your life. That is awesome.
You CAN get well and get symptom free.

I really appreciate these videos, I really think this work can help me. Still, I have trouble because my pain is constant, haven’t had a pain free moment for over 2.5 years.
So anyways I’m wondering if you can address 24/7 pain? Is it some subconscious thing? It’s not like I’m stressed all the time, I can feel pretty calm or happy but I’ll still be in pain. I understand this TMS/PDP work and have been researching it for a while now. I still have hope that it can help me but it’s tough not to despair sometimes.
Any input is appreciated but understand you can’t address every YT commenter.

I start to see the connection between anger and fear. I seem to deal better with anger but i am trying to find a way to let go of fear which is the biggest challenge. Fearing for my child or a another loved one is the biggest thing. It comes out of the blue. Also looking for a job and what kind of responsibilities should i take on upon me after a career break? I used to have very demanding jobs and just an idea of the lack of life balance brings an array of symptoms caused by fear. Looking for a way to deal with it. Also there is a fear of being hungry. I get headaches when i am hungry. This is a good video. Need to find a way to diminish these particular elements

Absolutely. Anger is just a symptom of fear. Depression is a symptom of fear. Controlling/type A “personality” is a symptom of fear. People-pleasing, overworking, avoidance - all are simply fear in different disguises.

For the past few days, I’ve had a rather disappointing flare up of “symptoms.” It’s really unfortunate because I had been on a streak of no symptoms at all for two weeks. Not even a little. So invigorating. Amazing the beauty life holds when you’re not in a TMS/PDP spiral.
But this flare is entirely understandable. I have multiple things happening in my life that are sources of severe distress, and it makes perfect sense that I’d experience this temporary relapse.
Last night on a walk, my body cycled through five different symptoms in thirty minutes before settling on the super annoying one, the one that’s been bothering me the most for a few days. Hilarious when I really think about it. However, that cycling, is just proof, as if I needed it at this point, that my nervous system is all revved up, expecting a tiger in the brush. A jaguar on the walk through the park. Well, there is no tiger, nervous system. Just a bunch of irritating project details, a painting fiasco in my house, and severe worry about a loved one’s health.
So what to do? In my case, breathe, meditate, journal. Find ways to calm the hell down. Reassure myself.
I’ve planned a terrific day involving a special dinner and some cool activities in the park, despite the nervous system’s shenanigans. You’re not helping, nervous system. This isn’t protection I need.

I also have sinus tacchycardia and have had lots of cardiology checks and there doesnt seem to be a reason for it. The cardiologist is not worried about it and its just something I have to live with. Hey so I was on bisoprolol for tachycardia for over a year as I was waiting for 24 hour heart taping after covid. It eventually came back fine.
However, I had already halved the dose of the 1.25mg as it was affecting my mild asthma. I was planning to stop completely but doctor said to wait until anxiety under control to stop the other half. After dropping to half dose I kept getting adrenaline surges and hear racing.
I’ve now found out on a patient site withdrawal can cause these and last for months to a year but doctors don’t really acknowledge this can happen for some.
It’s been over a 2 months since I reduced the dose and had quite a few surges. It supposedly happens as the body tries to return to homeostasis it creates more adrenaline receptors while adrenaline is blocked by the beta blocker. As blocking adrenaline isn’t natural and we need some.
So when you reduce the dose the adrenaline increases and hits all the new receptor sites. It takes a long for the body to get rid of all these extra receptors and volume of adrenaline and return to normal.
I increased the dose back to 1.25mg yesterday as I’ve had a lot of events and cant control it (before I found this out).
I now want to come off it completely although worry about handling the withdrawal and adrenaline surges as they aren’t pleasant.
On top of this I read adrenaline surges that come on randomly with no triggers can damage the heart. So need to get off the beta blocker with minimal surges.
It seems my stomach/bowel maybe a trigger although not sure but I can seem to calm this either. I believe TMS but just don’t know where it fits with this or what I can do. It’s hard to stay active, living life and not be bothered by a racing heart.
Thanks for your videos Dan just stuck right now and wish I’d never started the medication. ❤
