@@cartune_netwerk if you still have the resonator it might make sense to keep it on because if anything you do increases the flow even more it will sound better with the side effect of being raspy which is the resonators only useful purpose, but since you didn’t take the mufflers off it’s not an issue (for now)
Let me try to change your mind. Slow non modifiable V8 in a supra? also heavy big body? Would turn the supra into a cheap LC itself, don't think that's the niche the supra belongs to. And again, its a slow ass old V8, gotta keep the Turbo straight 6 legacy going. BMW made that mistake once and went right back to 6cyl on the M3s for example. V8 wasn't a good choice and isn't for a supra.

sadly the infotainment controls are a fucking nightmare, especially at that price point. 2 of my regulars at my cafe drive LC500 Convertibles and one of them gave me a ride home once when the bus line was shut down due to an emergency. nice car, terrible infotainment
Do you know that the sound of this car was tuned by Yamaha? Not the motorcycle/ racing division but their music division. It was made to ensure it sounded good stock. That's how detailed this car was developed.
You're right, Yamaha did tune the exhaust for most Lexus' target buyers and it did sound good stock, but I wanted something a little different. Eventually I'll get a full exhaust.

LC has dual intakes so that's probably why. Additionally, Yamaha designed an airbox for these to pump engine noise into the cabin so that's probably a part of it. My old RCF with EL headers sounded amazing though
The LC 500 has one of the best exhaust notes of any on the road, bar none. I wish Lexus did not put that awful iCVT 10 speed in it. Gears 1 thru 7 are heavenly, but after that, really nothing. I have driven quite a few of them, and also think they are drop dead gorgeous. I hear folks talk about the LFA, but the V10 and the exhaust is a bit raspy, and not quite the deeper bass type note of a Lamborghini or Audi V10, so for my taste, I would give the nod to the LC for having a better exhaust note. I also love the RC/GS-F’s as well.
Yeah those last 3 gears are for fuel economy. I personally love the LFA exhaust note and hope to buy one one day. Miss my RCF sometimes - with the equal length headers it sounded amazing
@@cartune_netwerk I never particularly was a big fan of the LFA due to the $400k price tag. I know that it is a fantastic car, but that seemed outrageous. Lexus should go to a Dual Clutch Auto with about 7 or 8 speeds for the LC. Yes, you are going to save about a thimble full of gas on 8 thru 10, which is laughable. The exhaust note drops off a cliff at that point as well.
Probably want to put the resonators back on and delete the mufflers. Resonators have a very small impact on the sound they mostly prevent drone whereas mufflers are what muffler the exhaust sound
They prevent drone by deleting/muffling the resonating noises, hence the name resonator. Those are the deeper sounds that most of us like to hear, so no mate I think he did just fine.
@@branhub nah bruv. The resonators prevent the annoying hum and rasp that are made at specific rpm. He would've had a louder cleaner sound with resonators still on but a muffler delete.

It's like a muffler made to mute certain "unwanted" frequencies from the exhaust. It doesn't make it quieter. That's the mufflers job. It avoids sound vibrations at certain frequencies that might leak into the inside and make driving your car long distances unbearable.
Resonator deletes are pointless to me. The point of one is for back pressure , not just sound muffling , doing that and still having a muffler is kinda pointless if you want it louder don't you think ? Why not do it the other way around ? 🤷 Idk just putting my 2 cents in lol
airflow is bypassing the muffler with the valve harnesses unplugged so there might be slightly more HP and TQ. I don't want to completely remove the muffler since this exhaust has valves and I could keep it to retain value if I ever sell the car. Eventually, I'm thinking about getting a full exhaust, but I haven't decided which one I want

It sounds exactly the same as stock. When these start, the muffler bypass opens up and stays open for about fifteen seconds.
It's a resonator delete. The mufflers are untouched
it's very similar to stock, Yes, the start up keeps the muffler bypass open until it warms up. The resonator delete does slightly change the tone tho
