I think the reason the hair blows out a big with the round brush is because the round brush doesn’t use the coanda effect, but the smoothing brushes and barrels use the coanda effect which Controls the airflow!

I think Dyson is made for straight hair. Love your review very detailed and with a hair like mine. I was really considering buying the Dyson, but way to expensive to use just one tool. Thank you!

The first attachment is a pre-styler to dry out the excess water from hair.. it's not supposed to make hair straight and smooth 🤷

Good to know! Still prefer my Amika blower brush that does it all at once…dries, straightens and makes my hair smooth.

I think maybe the reason the barrels aren’t grabbing all your hair is because it’s too long or thick and the hair can’t catch the air flow. I know they have a version of the curl barrels for longer hair and I think it would be worth it to purchase the longer barrels for people with longer or thicker hair. Maybe it would work if there was more barrel to grab the hair with the hair flow.

They are two completely different products. The Amika doesn’t have the same technology the Dyson does, not even close. You are paying for a product that is way less damaging. The Amika is comparable to the Revlon, it’s the exact same thing. I use the smoothing brush and I have a lot of hair plus it’s curly. The boar bristles are usually the ones that “rip” your hair out :/

In that aspect, then it makes it worth it! I think it just takes time and practice to get used to it. I’m so used to my amika that it’s the only thing I really have to compare it to. But I def will try my dyson more!
