The cards at 3:11 with the text "皮卡超" are not legit. That text means "Pikachao" or "Pika Super" in Chinese whereas the correct text for Pikachu in Japanese should be "ピカチュウ". It wouldn't make sense for a card to have the front in Japanese yet back text in Chinese anyway.
(Whoops, was supposed to type "比加超" instead of "皮卡超" but sadly RUclips's commenting system is so broken it won't let me edit my previous comment. Sorry about that!)
Actually in Japan they usually do Mandarin Chinese or English when they want an item to look exotic while in the USA, products like clothing and toys will sometimes have Japanese text to look exotic. The cards could be official
That set of Chinese characters in the eggsecutor pencil is actually the Nintendo logo in Japanese kanji. I first saw that in the Japanese version of Kirby's Dreamlamd 3.
Those Japanese "story" cards DID exist as a legit product, but it looks like the ones you have are bootlegs of them. I have one I got from a Japanese kid that lived in my neighborhood (he's also where I got most of my regular Japanese Pokemon cards). I don't think the real ones were stickers (at least, mine isn't), and the one I have is made out of a hard plasticky material or is laminated somehow and just feels like a very nice product.
Lol I actually spent a portion of my brother's wedding reception coloring a zombie coloring book that included a zombie Pikachu. Sure it wasn't official but hey, so what? :P
All I know is that he was born to a ridiculously rich family had an arranged marriage to a girl that looked like Jesse that he was terrified of due to hair domineering personality and he ran away from home to be a lowly criminal to avoid them, only returning when his parents faked their deaths to get him to come back.
An old friend of mine had some of those. They were not only translucent, but often came in weird, incorrect colors (like a purple Charizard). Weird stuff. She swore they were legit but, uh... no. I don't know why translucent plastic is such a common thing in bootleg toys. I'm guessing it's cheaper?
Oh yeah, Carddass! I know them for their Mega Man (both Classic and X) cards that actually had original artwork, and even some original characters in the case of the X ones (each set/series also had a story, but they weren't exactly Shakespeare.) One of my favorites is probably the one of Terra and Sunstar where Terra looks really small.
Can confirm that the purple Charizard/Aerodactyl thing was around in Gen1-era, because I remember it and I didn't so much as look as a Pokemon toy since Gen1.
That official Charizard looks great. :O And I know it was also in the official Pikachu, but why did those Pikachus have white snouts? He's only like that in those figures and some artwork (afaik), not in the games or anime.
Living in Quebec in the 90s, we had magazines from, Canada, the US and France. From reading the French magazines, cardass cards were very popular in France, especially the DBZ cards. We didn't get these cool cards in Quebec, though...of course...
I love Cardass. Sometimes I like to whip out my deck and slam that Cardass - right on the table. Other times, I work my Cardass slowly and reveal things a little at a time. One time I let a friend play with my Cardass. It didn't go too well.
The two fingers means V for victory in Japan, not peace! Oops/10 Would simple mistake that doesn't mean anything again. That means Demonchu wins, though...
So, quick question, why does the end of the video looks like it got cut off abruptly? I feel like the watch said something, but the video ends before he could finish.
Those Cardass ones with the Kojiro and His parents were real. They did makes sticker Cardass like with yugioh. I actually also own that Lizardon Charizard coming out of the flames. Do a bootleg zones high eleves
Plenty of Pokemon stuff lately on BZ. Is this in some quasi-celebration of Sun/Moon, or a funny coinky-dink? Even if it is or isn't, have you been playing it... one... them?
I'm surprised you didn't say anything about the Pikachu watch's off color crouch, and made a joke about the Pikachu that either went el'naturel or caught something from a trashy Muk.
those Cardass you have there appear to be fake. they look very blurry, and don't appear to be from one bootleg set. also, Cardass are usually stickers. at least the old Sailor Moon sets along with the new ones are, last I checked.
And i quote "Carddass (カードダス, Kādodasu) is a name given to Bandai's card vending machines and, thus, a generic term given to the cards sold by these machines."
When I was a kid, I bought some bizarre bootleg DBZ cards that looked like they were supposed to be for some form of card game but were very engrishy. I wish I still had them.
Are you Canadian? The way you say the "ar" part in "cards" is pretty interesting, yet cool. I know Canadians kinda say A's like that from watching Trailer Park Boys.
ACTUALLY at 4:46 those Chinese characters are the kanji used to spell Nintendo (任天度) So that may have just been a cheapo product made in China for Nintendo back in the day.
'If you want to believe James is straight.' Good call....but does anyone remember the manga where James knocked up Jesse and they all lived happily ever after ditching Team Rocket? I do.....I have the book with it.
Baylor Collins Those stories were taken from the REALLY early Pokemon Adventures manga series by Toshihiro Ono. In the end, Ash and Gary go off to continue with their Pokemon adventures but before the stories end, James gives Ash's mother a letter telling her that he's okay. The intro to the short comic is a shot of Jesse and James, Jesse pimping a wedding ring, out of their TR garb and seemingly in a better life with a flying car and Meowthy chilling in the background. I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED BUT YES. IT IS AN OFFICIAL MANGA AND IT WAS PUBLISHED IN ENGLISH BY VIZ. THIS EXIST.
I'd wager that's supposed to be an Aerodactyl. The tail looks more like Aerodactyl's and it only has wings, no arms (while Dragonite had both arms and wings, like Charizard should).
I have to admit that that legit charizard figurine is pretty damn badass
Mimikyu is an official bootleg Pikachu.
Zachary Watson lol
Minikyu is a cheap cosplayer
Bouffalant is a bootleg Tauros.
5:03 Mimikyu is probably the closest thing you'll get if you want a zombie Pikachu so there
those Pikachu molds are so common because they were made from a legit set of figures from the 90s, I remember having a few of them as a kid
I find it funny there's a bootleg exeggutor pencil topper when there's a bunch of alolan exeggutor pencils in sun and moon.
Looks like the bootleggers were just about 20 years ahead of the game.
so THAT is why i got de ja vu XD
That figurine of Charizard emerging from the fire is *BADASS*! :D
For the Charizard coming out of the fire figure, i think you get that when you buy that Charizard EX box that came out back in March.
Red Yep. That's the figure that came with the box.
it looks really nice, but the color of the wings bother me a lot. they look burned up and charred and not really like his actual wings.
I think that bootleg Charizard was actually supposed to be a bootleg Aerodactyl.
that Dragonite is so doofy-looking I love him. I must have one in my life
The cards at 3:11 with the text "皮卡超" are not legit. That text means "Pikachao" or "Pika Super" in Chinese whereas the correct text for Pikachu in Japanese should be "ピカチュウ". It wouldn't make sense for a card to have the front in Japanese yet back text in Chinese anyway.
facinating
(Whoops, was supposed to type "比加超" instead of "皮卡超" but sadly RUclips's commenting system is so broken it won't let me edit my previous comment. Sorry about that!)
Neko Michi wait,i think i know where it comes from
Hong Kong!
Actually in Japan they usually do Mandarin Chinese or English when they want an item to look exotic while in the USA, products like clothing and toys will sometimes have Japanese text to look exotic.
The cards could be official
Pencil-Butt Exeggutor is what happens when Alola Exeggutor's neck makes a huge mistake
You could say it has its head literally up his ass.
Or is it through its ass? idk.
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if that Demonic Pikachu keychain got a Pokepasta about it.
3:46 My God... the Bootleggers called Alolan Exeggutor twenty years in advance!
I can imagine that Demonic Pikachu hanging out with that Satanic Ninja Turtle with the pentagram on his head.
And I see Doofy Muppet Dragonite hanging out with Baltard.
@@gwendolynstata3775 not even he would hang out with baltard. Baltard:but baltard! Me: shut up baltard! Baltard:*sad baltard noises*
As a kid I had a deck of Harry Potter "cards" that also were just stickers. Pretty sure the were bootleg.
Ooooh, now I want Phelous to review HP bootlegs someday!
There was a Famicom game, Harry's Legend. Basically a hack of TITENIC (of the JonTron fame ).
Demon Bootleg Pikachu should team up with Demon Bootleg Michelangelo!
Unfortunately the evil Mikey broke long ago.
Samantha Port Ah, that's too bad. :(
that's demon pikachu, that's mimikyu
TEAM TURTLE LEADER LUCIFER WANTS TO FIGHT
I expect people to complain because Phelous said "Aloha" instead of Alola.
Maybe he meant that as the Bootleg of that Region.
For the Charizard coming out of the fire figure, i think you get that when you buy that Charizard EX box that came out back in March.
I know I'm super late, but after a quick Google search on the box set, the figure is from the box set
5:23 You.....you mean you can get it wet?.....
...and it won't be completely useless?
I remember that I used to get those sticker cards out of those 50 cent sticker machines you find in grocery stores.
6:24 Dude!
Alolan Charizard!
Poison Fire!
Zomg, the purple Charizard is from Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U.
I need this figurine, 'cause purple Zard is one of my mains.
That set of Chinese characters in the eggsecutor pencil is actually the Nintendo logo in Japanese kanji. I first saw that in the Japanese version of Kirby's Dreamlamd 3.
1:40 The colors aren't off. That's WaAsh.
Batzarro Don't you mean, "Wash?"
Loved the battle at the end.
Lol I actually spent a portion of my brother's wedding reception coloring a zombie coloring book that included a zombie Pikachu. Sure it wasn't official but hey, so what? :P
2:25 Somehow, I get the feeling James has a very screwed-up personal life you don't see often on the show.
All I know is that he was born to a ridiculously rich family had an arranged marriage to a girl that looked like Jesse that he was terrified of due to hair domineering personality and he ran away from home to be a lowly criminal to avoid them, only returning when his parents faked their deaths to get him to come back.
Um...was there more of the skit at the end? It look like it got cut off the video.
Wow, the timing. I just got home from getting Pokemon Moon. XD
6:36 And the Poopachu returns. XD
Phelous can you review The live action G.I. Joe movies and Thundercats.
“Hey kids! I’m Doofy the Dragonite!”
apparently those characters on the Eggsecutor pencil top say "Nintendo"
9:15
That Dragonite looks like Ibkee from "Guardian's Crusade" to me.
I remember seeing a bootleg set being sold at a mall kiosk years ago, but the figures were oddly transparent.
There was a specific one that I just remembered. It was a green pikachu
I had a transparent magnemite. Don’t know where it is right now
I used to have a bunch of those stickers - both types, but mostly the second. Wonder if I can find some more examples in my old toybox.
Man I have so many bootleg pokemon toys laying around from The Ancient Times. I should dig them up again.
Inferno Charizard looks awesome. I like the figure.
I had one of those pencils, but with Weepinbell. It was Troll 2 green and it sucked a thing that wasn't the pencil.
Can confirm that the purple Charizard/Aerodactyl thing was around in Gen1-era, because I remember it and I didn't so much as look as a Pokemon toy since Gen1.
That official Charizard looks great. :O
And I know it was also in the official Pikachu, but why did those Pikachus have white snouts? He's only like that in those figures and some artwork (afaik), not in the games or anime.
I remember those shiny weird sticker cards...and I totally recognize some of them but I was too young to remember where I got them..
most likely a vending machine, the kfc in my town still has em i think
So I found some bootleg Pokémon keychains in a sketchy dollar store in New York, AND THEY MARK ON PAPER SO WELL THEY ARE CRAYONS I SWEAR
Living in Quebec in the 90s, we had magazines from, Canada, the US and France. From reading the French magazines, cardass cards were very popular in France, especially the DBZ cards.
We didn't get these cool cards in Quebec, though...of course...
14:34 Don't slack off when Dr. Claw's around!
Actually, those Chinese characters spell out "Nintendo."
Huh I found one of those pikachu watches on the side of the street years ago I think I still have it in a drawer somewhere...
That Devil pikachu reminds me of Neo from Toriko XD
I love Cardass. Sometimes I like to whip out my deck and slam that Cardass - right on the table. Other times, I work my Cardass slowly and reveal things a little at a time. One time I let a friend play with my Cardass. It didn't go too well.
Lol cardass much ?
The two fingers means V for victory in Japan, not peace! Oops/10 Would simple mistake that doesn't mean anything again. That means Demonchu wins, though...
i love how the ad before the video was a pokemon tcg ad
3:14 Song?
I couldn't stop laughing after demon Pikachu. it was just so freaky I kinda want it 😂😂😂
So, quick question, why does the end of the video looks like it got cut off abruptly? I feel like the watch said something, but the video ends before he could finish.
Phelan... that thing cleary is classic metroid Ridley xD
also...
next time pikachu...
NEXT TIIIIME
*meowth\
Those Cardass ones with the Kojiro and His parents were real. They did makes sticker Cardass like with yugioh. I actually also own that Lizardon Charizard coming out of the flames. Do a bootleg zones high eleves
those cards and flashfire pack are worth quite a bit more than the ebay lot - quite a good bonus if they're legit
What's that tune at 2:45?!
2:35 LMFAO!!! Fucking CARDASS! Best. company. name. EVER.
for Christmas all I want is phelous to do a review of the next mutation
Plenty of Pokemon stuff lately on BZ. Is this in some quasi-celebration of Sun/Moon, or a funny coinky-dink? Even if it is or isn't, have you been playing it... one... them?
Does Phelous have a PO Box?
B&M Bargains - a British discount store - has some
KOs of Terminus Hexatron (MMCs version of Sixshot)
for £10 each!
More Pokemon bootleg...
MOAR!!!!
I'm surprised you didn't say anything about the Pikachu watch's off color crouch, and made a joke about the Pikachu that either went el'naturel or caught something from a trashy Muk.
Honestly, unless it was advertised as a Charizard, that purple figurine looks more like an Aerodactyl...
those Cardass you have there appear to be fake. they look very blurry, and don't appear to be from one bootleg set.
also, Cardass are usually stickers. at least the old Sailor Moon sets along with the new ones are, last I checked.
And i quote "Carddass (カードダス, Kādodasu) is a name given to Bandai's card vending machines and, thus, a generic term given to the cards sold by these machines."
Gods... I remember most of these when I was growing up.
When I was a kid, I bought some bizarre bootleg DBZ cards that looked like they were supposed to be for some form of card game but were very engrishy. I wish I still had them.
I got the 1990s Sailor Moon Bootleg sticker cards. They were sold in vending machines for a 1$ Canada.
Yo Phelous, I just bought a bunch of Chinese bootleg DBZ figures. Would you be interested in them?
Crimson Trax Are they the Datong ones or the EVEN CHEAPER bootlegs ones that come in huge packs
cause those are hilarious
Probably. You have t pm him on facebook or something to get his mailing address.
Shit! I don't have a Facebook account... I guess I have to make one at some point.
Brother Malachai
0:30 I have the real one of that card, and it looks a bit different....
That one normal colour charizard is actually legit
11:00 It actually says Nintendo (任天堂) in kanji here.
That Exeggutor looks like it wants to be put out of it's misery
I dunno, "Don't Fall Over" seems like it'd be a Normal move...
Ok so I know I’m late BUT I’m a big nerd so I know that in the original manga there were zombie Pokémon
Are you Canadian? The way you say the "ar" part in "cards" is pretty interesting, yet cool. I know Canadians kinda say A's like that from watching Trailer Park Boys.
That fucking Dragonite is going to haunt my dreams forever
Cuz "im having a good time, HAVING A GOOD TIME"
ACTUALLY at 4:46 those Chinese characters are the kanji used to spell Nintendo (任天度)
So that may have just been a cheapo product made in China for Nintendo back in the day.
Uh was it supposed to cut off after the ending where it shows the watch? it shows the watch and says These stupid S....and it cuts abruptly
That Dragonite kept reminding me of an old childhood puppetshow dragon static.keptelenseg.hu/vp/cb92b7712ebe09293bc701e07d99e6f9.jpg
7:54 anyone want to see a Dingo Pokémon episode now?
Why in the damn hell isn't there a Dingo Pokemon movie?
I like the purple aerodactyl his color reminds me of a regional variant or is that charizard
No mention that lazy demon Pikachu had his hand remolded to more human-like fingers?
So hopefully there will be a gen 2 lot in the future?
4:48 lol, that's not just "some chinese characters" , that's how you spell Nintendo in Japanese!
qwertzy121212 ok
I found some bootleg Pokémon toys at Pacific Mall
That Charizard figure is real actually!
'If you want to believe James is straight.'
Good call....but does anyone remember the manga where James knocked up Jesse and they all lived happily ever after ditching Team Rocket?
I do.....I have the book with it.
Baylor Collins

I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED BUT YES. IT IS AN OFFICIAL MANGA AND IT WAS PUBLISHED IN ENGLISH BY VIZ. THIS EXIST.
It's also borderline Ecchi (It's censored in the english version though).
bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/The_Electric_Tale_of_Pikachu
*****
What's funny about that is they actually MISSED one panel in the censored version and you can see Jessie's original costume.
I misread Cardass as...
Goodass...I'll walk my self out
Mimikyu comes close to zombie pikachu.... It's a ghost that dresses up like Pikachu...
The bootleg Charizard could also pass for a bootleg Ridley toy
Because Turly Gang protects Pokémon.
I'd wager that's supposed to be an Aerodactyl. The tail looks more like Aerodactyl's and it only has wings, no arms (while Dragonite had both arms and wings, like Charizard should).
As a kid i got bootleg pokemon pogs at some birthday party
With a non existent pokemon a little purple guy remind me of geodude
I'm taking the time to complain in the comments about the fact that I have nothing to actually complain about. Oy!
