Both the automatic shoe laces and toothbrush are very interesting to me as an autistic person because I have trouble with both of these things. It's not that I personally can't do them, but many of us have difficulty bringing ourselves to do it if we can.
I was fortunate enough to grow up in the 80s when velcro strap and other types of non-tying shoes were fashionable for a while and never understood why something so much more convenient, practical, progressive and modern went right back "out" in favor or something so primitive as shoe laces, to the extent that it did.

In no particular order I liked the solar panels, elevators as they could potentially evacuate a burning building quicker + the toothbrush.
I really like the toothbrush but since it probably won’t be manufactured I can’t get to excited.

Can you imagine if every roof was re-roofed with solar panels at government expense. There would be zero need for fossil fuels. Use batteries where it makes sense and use others as dim as they may be to send it back into the grid. Along with Wind a a move forward into the energy issue. Maintenance would be different but doable with smart tech and people involved. Fact is we to make changes to our grid; good place to start.

We could do that. But the argument is that it takes 20-30 years of paying mortgage on the solar pannels to fully pay them off. And the solar panel mortgage costs more than the regular energy bill. And there’s nothing wrong with using fossil fuels.

I preordered an Amabrush, looks amazing. It's expensive though. 3 mouth piece replacements and 3 extra sets of tooth paste with the basic kit came to $220.
Don't buy the piece of shit on Amazon, it's not the same thing. It's a cheap knock off that doesn't work.

Solar power generation doesn't take 20 to 30 years to pay itself off, Maybe 10 years ago when it was ultra expencive, it's more like 5 to 7 years to pay itself off now.
You are so wrong... It is "cheaper" nowadays ONLY because of increased government subsidies in most countries. But reality is that they are as expensive as they were 20 years ago, if not slightly more expensive (due to increased consumption and shortage of some of materials used in manufacturing it, and other factors). The fact remains the same: solely thanks to wide government-sponsored subsidies for manufacturers, govt-promoted sale (none or lowered taxes) and govt-sponsored usage of solar power system (paying solar producers up to 300% of market price for their "green energy") - only thanks to all these factors it APPEARS to be "cheaper" nowadays.
Simply take away all of these subsidies and it's "cheapness" becomes as fake as "bio" diesel oil made of specially harvested vegetables, promoted some decade ago...

And at that point youd be better off with the standard equipment. As for the idea of using something like that, they exist. As a back up in case of emergency for divers
