A neighbor told me about a turtle walking up our street. I knew since we were in a dry spell that it had left a pond not far from us. Myself and boys went out to see it. I told my oldest son not to get close to it while I called animal control to move it to a bigger pond. Well my son didn't listen and it stripped off several layers of skin from the base of his thumb. I'm pretty sure that snake got the "involuntary acupuncture" treatment from attempting to coil around a porcupine in the first place. No way it swallowed and digested it and got impaled in areas not located anywhere close to its digestive tract. Or, it's possible the porcupine fell on the snake and it jerked a few times, impaling itself in the process of trying to defend itself, given porcupines have a penchant for falling out of trees.
