Hi Doc, I’m on 28 units a day. Evening meal dose is 6 units, also 12 units (long acting). For example Now I want to correct blood sugar which is 15.8 mmol now to get that down to 6-8 mmol I need to take 6 units? Isn’t that too much. If one unit is 2.8mmol - 6 units - 16.8 mmol?

I use insulin sensitivity factor to compute corrections (less math). Thanks for giving a look at a different angle.

My Fast acting insulin is 7U base n I use the scale to adjust the intake. but Im having a problem bc my sugar goes up even when I haven’t eat and When I add extra Units instead of go down it keeps going up and I have to start exercising to make it go down...
At night time it’s the opposite, before I go to sleep I check my sugar and it’s normal and around 2 or 3am my Dexcom alarm goes off bc my sugar drops down to the 60’s... and i have to get up to eat or drink something to get the sugar up
Why is this happening ?... what should I do? Thanks

I have the same issue and found that in the morning Ibefore breakfast, I have to inject 45 minutea to an hour before eating.
For night, assuming you're using long acting like Levemir, take a bedtime snack like biscuits or juice. Check official sources but this is common practice for night time insulin
I AM NOT A MEDICAL PROFOESSIONAL!!
