I have the Sony 135mm 1.8 GM, the optical image quality are second to none ! But it is a big and heavy Lens, last year I looked through many of the best photos taken with the Sony 135mm 1.8 GM, most of the photos was taken with aperture 2.8 to 5.6, some at aperture 8.0, but only rare 2.5 or larger ! So now I use my Voigtländer Macro APO-Lanthar 110mm 2.5 which are sharper at aperture 2.5 and 2.8 than Sony 135 !!! The Voigtländer are smaller and a bit more light weight than Sony 135mm, the Voigtländer are very solid built ! If I was to buy a 135mm Lens today, I would buy the Zeiss Batis Apo Sonnar 135mm 2.8 T* which are much lighter than the Sony 135mm.

How did you find the ergonomics of the a7cr combined with the 135? I would imagine with a compact camera body the lens would “feel” bigger but it certainly doesn’t look out of place on your a7cr. I have the 135 and am thinking of swapping my a7iv for the a7cr

The Sony 135mm will feel very front heavy, try the Zeiss Batis Sonnar 135mm 2.8 T* (alternative Samyang 135mm 1.8).

I find my A7cr + 135 + aspc mode is very handy indeed.

      That’s a great point!

I would sometimes put my 135mm GM on my a6600 just for fun. Gives you a really fast relatively light 200mm lens.

Yes, Sony GM Lenses are for full frame Sony E mount ! If you have a Sony A7RV you should know that.

The 135mm GM has the best IQ of any lens I've used.

Absolutely 👍 The downside of that, it nearly ruined the experience with my other lenses ;)

The Sony A7CR is too expensive for what you NOT get, small EVF, no joystick... and it is stupid with a grip when you want a compact camera ! Get a Sony A7RIVA or Sony A7RV !!! Also, always use a Lens Hood !

NOOB "I think it is because there are more lens elements in it", NO !!! It is because of the Lens design and the quality of the lens elements !
