morgan was totally right tbh, as someone who wants horses and has put hundreds of hours into lessons and working at my barn they aren't for people who just want them because "you can ride them".

@@jessieoconnor6738 the pictures he’s showing are definitely not from lessons. If he gave us more evidence that he is taking lessons and doing research then we’d back off but from the evidence he’s provided us so far any educated horse person can tell he isn’t suited to own a horse right now.
@kate MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY!!! a goat is so much easier than a effing horse like he honestly did not think about that I don’t think he knows much about the care of horses, I do not have a horse of my own but my friend does and I would go help clean the stalls and feed them and all that, but just doing that on the wknd was a lot. Now imagine someone that doesn’t really put much effort into that kind of stuff he would probably only clean half the stall or not clean it at all. Dude could barely take care of a kitten... A KITTEN FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!! Who would leave a kitten by 2 big dogs😒 I hope and pray he does not get one.

On the behalf of a equestrian I don’t recommend getting a horse. There’s a lot that goes into owning a horse that even I don’t even know yet (and I’ve been working with horses for 18 years). You need to be able to learn horse terminology such as lameness, colic etc. You need to be able to memorise a horses TPR (since horses are always getting hurt in the field) when to recognise the horse needs shoeing/ the farrier. There’s also a lot of stuff you need to know when buying a horse such as age, the horses experience and what you’re intended to do with it (usually the younger the horse the less experience it’s had so will need regular training by a professional since you won’t know even the basics on how to train). You need to ask yourself are you willing to learn everything about horses from the correct terminology to what type of tack is best fitted/suited to your horse to what type of livery you’ll be doing. It’s not just “sitting on a horse” it’s not just “horse riding lessons” there’s so much you need to learn on the ground before even considering getting a horse of your own.

His podcast doesn't have that many subscribers compared to his main account, so saying it there is inconsequential if he does decide to buy one in the future because not a lot of people will know he said he wouldn't in passing.

Because Shane is literally the only reason Ryland has the audience he does now. Before they started dating, no one even knew who Ryland was on a wide-scale. Only if you watched CleverNews, but even their ratings were low at that point.

Morgan was actually the only person who had brain in the horse situation- like SHE KNOWS the circumstances of having one. The phrase “at least you can ride a horse.” is NEVER an excuse to get one. A horse should be considered a pet not an object. It’s not like a car you can ride FOREVER.

@@MeezCheese Well, I don't own a goat but where I live there are goat farms everywhere, mainly for producing goat cheese. And all they do is let them out on to a mountain to eat and they milk them nearly everyday (I'm not sure if this is because it's completly necesary for the goats health or just because of the produce demand).

"a goat is high maintenance, but a horse, a horse you can ride and it's like a companion" trust me a horse is a lot more work than a goat, you need to have a barn to put it, you need to know how to maintain the hoofs and everything, you need to pay for vet bills, food, you have to wash it, you have to make sure it gets enough exercise you can't just leave it for a week and then ride it when you want, there is so much more and ryland and Shane are not prepared for owning a horse.

@@hannahbartlett9730 that's true, I don't know much about horses but I'm from Kentucky so I know some general things that goes into caring for horses because we have a lot here but there is so many more things that go into taking care of a horse but I can't name them all and I don't know them all I just know it's very hard. I don't think they would be able to take care of a horse, if they want to ride horses there is a lot of ranches in California they can go to. I just don't think they need to own one.

I've worked with horses, own one, and plan to make it my job full time next year when school is done. Horses are NOT easy to take care of ; what you described is only the surface level. When he said "you can ride" as if that's the only exercise a horse should get... Horses can get used to routine quickly and a bored horse is a sad one. You should have good rider experience before even THINKING of owning a horse.
Some breeds will need some different kind of specific trainings : i've worked with arabian fullbreeds and we don't make them work like a Selle Français. People like Ryland, thinking taking care of a horse properly is easy, is why so many horses get depressed and live short lives.
Also yeah that's nice, you want a horse, will you put it in your garden ? If so, good luck identifying all the toxic plants, and getting rid of them, also adapt the field for the horses needs (water, salt rocks, etc...) you'll put it in a barn ? He'll get depressed, alone and in his box all day. This is really, really sad misinformation.
I sincerely hope Morgan gets feeling better, it’s never fun to be sick 💖

Y’all have such a large disconnect from reality. You can’t just get a horse, you have to do proper research so you know how to take care of the animal and you don’t mistreat/neglect it. It’s a large commitment and they live a long time. I spent two years researching ball pythons before getting one, you’re getting a pet, not a piece of decor.

if you want a horse, i’d recommend having them at a trained facility where they’re taken care for properly. it’s a very high maintenance animal and that’s probably your best bet.

I would say if you're only gonna buy a horse just to go and have fun rides on without doing any of the work as an owner, don't buy. Just loan or just continue to book rides through an equine business.

First off, love Morgan, I think she is hillarious. However this is Rylands channel not morgans, so its not difficult to understand the video wouldn't focus on her and the interactions between her and her mother. Secondly, this is just a snip it of their lives, which has been edited. I wouldn't judge so harshly when you only see small edited segments of people's lives.

I agree a horse is not a good idea, but I don't think Ryland has changed that much to be honest he was always a diva. And ya he wasn't awesome to his sister, but siblings argue and squabble it seemed like pretty normal behavior at least compared to me and my siblings. I do think their mom was a little oblivious and possibly ignoring the situation because that's just how they are. As viewers, we have seen them do this many many times before.

DON'T get a horse, please. Lessons are not enough. Riding well and safe enough can take years. And riding alone is not enough for knowing how to take care of a horse. If you don't want a goat cuz they are loud and high maintenance you won't take care of your horse. "well you can ride a horse" No. Yes but no. Not that much. Not every day for years. And you are not going to want to. Mucking, taking care of tack, blankets, safety, vet bills, training, groundwork... omg please just don't get a horse. It's great that you started to take lessons but just keep it at that. AND that's (like you probably already notice) gonna draw a lot of negative attention to you and your family. The horse community is very loud and judgemental. It's not gonna help your reputation or anyone's mental health.

Having a horse is such a MASSIVE responsibility. It’s not an animal that’s easy to look after and definitely not an animal that you can just buy and only ride it. My friend has 3 horses and it takes up most of her time and it’s really, REALLY expensive. I would only recommend having a horse if you are going to look after it and take the responsibility of having one.
