Shane when he was just with Garrett, Andrew, Morgan and Rylans was ELITE and at his best. They always gave Garrett shit about being insensitive all the time (mostly shane) whixh kinda hurt my heart :(
I remember a video where shane is sitting with ryland and addressing how people were calling ryland boojie....and he said he plays an annoyed character and garret is silly and obsessed with HP and Morgan's clumsy and ryland plays up himself to be more prissy. Like its was kind of just them goofing around and playing it up for the camera

If I have a hoarding problem, I’ll be really insecure and think that I’m the only one with this problem, and be embarrassed about my house. But if someone told me they’re problems, and how they overcame it. I’d feel better, and think if they can do it. So can I.
@@Akunemin also I think Shane has ADHD (not sure dont quote me 😅) and I do too. It's a very common thing that we do to show people we understand and can relate to what they're feeling/going through and unfortunately sometimes it comes off as trying to make the situation about ourselves even tho in our weird way we're just trying to show love and understanding

I struggle to watch videos with Garrett and Shane. Garrett is always treated so poorly. I could never understand what Shane's problem was with Garrett... I've been in that space of being degraded and put down by my friends and it's not fun. I'm glad he's not friends with Shane anymore. Garrett is authentically himself, and I really appreciate it.

So- call me crazy- but I think the perfect thing for Garret would be owning one of those little odds and ends shops. He's drawn to interesting and old things, and it would keep his satisfaction of having these items. He could admire them while he had them and when someone wanted to buy it he could pass it on to someone else to admire. I think he'd find a lot of satisfaction in it. He invests his money in these items already so he may as well put them in a shop to be sold again one day

I’m watching back Garrett’s videos and as much as I hate Shane now... I genuinly miss these moments. You can tell that Shane, Ryland, Morgan and Andrew care so much about Garrett in this moment. When I watched this video back when I was a fan of Shane it genuinly felt like Shane was a really good friend to all of us and that he was genuinely empathic. Obviously I don’t know what went on behind the scenes (and I don’t think Garrett and Shane are friends anymore). But I genuinly miss watching these videos and feeling less bad after a bad day because of their friend group and the good energy they all portrayed to us.

@@alianarodriguez6320 Yeah, I agree to an extent. I think people, especially celebrities, are a lot more nuanced than we assume them to be. Clearly he's done stuff that's inexcusable and is likely very toxic in certain contexts (I am too). But that doesn't cancel out the good qualities or make them fake. I think Garrett probably brought those good qualities out as opposed to people like Jeffree or Trisha who exacerbated his more harmful traits

I grew up in a Horders house and while I did I told myself I would never do that but when I turned 18 and moved out on my own I didn’t have lot but the things I did have were everywhere and dishes piled etc. After a few months of that a friend came over and we did this exact process, it was VERY difficult to step back and see that I was slipping into that house I grew up in. She was kind but serious and ever since then my place is clean and my mental health is so much better! Ty Garrett for being real and posting this because ik there’s way more of us than people realize ❤
I can't believe how sad I am right now. Garret doesn't post like ever anymore. Shane is too focused on making fancy documentaries and stuff. It just makes me sad. It isn't that bad if they are doing stuff that they are happy doing.

I love how in the reveal, I can still very clearly tell that this is your place. It doesn’t feel like an empty design with no personality at all. There are so many tiny figurines and other little details that just seem so “you”. It’s incredible how welcoming that place seems now too.

his friends came in, were very insensitive about the situation, he was having a panick attack during the thing and then decided to sit down and explain how "Shane wasn't brutal about it" so his friend doesn't look bad. that's really sad, I hope he learns someday that it's not okay and he doesn't deserve to be treated like this

They helped him clean for nearly 8 hours and communicated the whole time, that push and brutal honesty from others is exactly what he needed to clean his house. Most hoarders have a bad reaction to throwing their stuff away in a short time (Garrett said he's bad at cleaning and it takes him several days, which is a very slow timeline for cleaning). Real friends are honest and help you in the way you need.
@socialnoob4853 mustn't have experience with hoarders. What Shane did in this video was really the best and most efficient thing that could've been done to help Garrett. Hoarding is such a vicious cycle, to have someone be strict but caring is ideal. Garrett spoke about how close they are (which honestly should be evidence enough, they understand eachother and ultimately know whats best for one another), what we saw was less than 20 minutes of a 7+ hour process. Honestly you can't judge nor have 'evidence' from the video Shane was insensitive. If anything, Garrett benefited from Shane's honest attitude. It's what true friends do.

Watching this back in 2024, knowing how things turned out between them...all I can say is: the signs were there. I'm not saying Shayne/Ryland were bad friends to Garrett but I don't think they were always the right fit for him. Just seeing the difference in their interactions with Garrett vs. Andrew's. The fact that Garrett invited Andrew into his house, showed him his things and felt comfortable just being silly and goofing around with him but then when the others showed up he said he felt uncomfortable and kind of wanted them to leave...yeah. I think Garrett knew deep down who his real friends were too but didn't realize it at the time.
you know what's funny? That he "realized" that in the very moment shane was canceled. It icks me to this day. Also all you sensitive babies confuse honesty with being mean.

i’ve watched this particular video so many times and i could never figure out how to write how i was feeling; but i cannot tell you how deeply i relate to this video. i could write a whole essay about my own experience with this. but instead i’m just gonna say i’ve done this my whole life, and it’s never something i think is a problem until i explain the story behind an object, or my friend makes a comment about an inanimate object and i’m like ): you’re gonna hurt it’s feelings (and mean it) and the person looks at me like they don’t understand. or until i try to clean my room, and realize i just don’t have enough space but cannot give anything up. going through my closet is the hardest. i have shirts from years ago that i never wore than i just can’t get rid of without getting anxiety bc of the attachment i have to them. it’s a part of who i am though, and i do love it. i’m still working on managing it, but i never knew it was classified as personification. my grandma is the only one who gets it, and she used to say i was just a really good story teller with a great imagination. i like to think that’s still true. i love this video, and you are such a bright light in this world garrett

As a kid I had a lot of things. I recently realized why my stuff suddenly disappeared. My favorite things to play with, etc.. my family threw away without my permission/knowledge. I get that they wanted to “downsize” but I think it’s a bit weird that I didn’t have any input.
I could tell Garrett was going through something. Because he kept on making jokes about what he was going through. Idk what he was going through, but he probably had some personal issues. But I can tell he is trying and wants to get better. Garrett is a great person I wish him the best!
Garrett was also really honest about everything or tried to be and he was really brave I'm proud of him!
