Just gotta say for clarity: the guns are way more likely to cause infection because they're harder to clean and you can't see the needle going in so there's more room for error and irritation. A sanitary needle that is individually wrapped and forceps are the best and safest bet.

@Katie when i went to get my second one they noticed that my first ones that i got done as a baby (also at claires) were uneven so my seconds were pierced the same distance from my first one, but not even to eachother since the first one was uneven to begin with.

I have a tattoo. People have a lot of opinions about it because I’m younger I am only 16. My mom passed away when I was 15. So I got a meaningful tattoo which is a bluebird flying towards a moon because when my mom was sick she would sit on the couch and look outside for bluebird because she believed they brought happiness and then we would always say I love you to the moon and back. So I got it as a way to remember her.
Elizabeth Becker that's a great tattoo! I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm 32 and lost my mom is July after a short battle with cancer. No matter how old you are it isn't easy. I think you picked a great tattoo and nobody should say anything negative about they way you chose to honor and remember your mother. I want to get something for my mom too.

Elizabeth Becker I’m Turing 15 in 2 months and my moms letting me get a tattoo for my birthday if it’s matching with her and if it’s meaningful and if it’s not too big
My cousin got a tattoo in memory of her mother who passed away when she was 7 or 8. She found a letter that her mum wrote in the hospital bed, as she was suffering from cancer very badly. The letter ended in the words “until we meet again”, so my cousin got those words in between angels wings and a halo. It is a truly beautiful tribute to her mum/my aunt. Every day my cousin shows regaining strength after such a huge loss (she’s now 18) and I’m so proud of her!
Sorry for your loss but also thank you for sharing. I lost my mom when I was 19 and have been wanting to get my first tattoo in honor of her!

Anna Gygi my boss didn’t even make me sit through the whole video and the first “person” I pierced on the job, was a 3 month old baby girl (which is the youngest claire’s employees can pierce 💀💀💀) did it for 3 years tho, so I might as well be a pro lol
Kitty Cobbs I work at Claire’s and was not shown a video. First person was a baby but I love it and am one of the best! And I have 9 in one ear from Claire’s
Fr they just show them how to do it they aren’t certified AT aLL. I got 4/10 of my piercings done at Claire’s and they aren’t even and they kinda pierced them wrong instead of going straight through my ear they pushed it in slanted (going upwards in the back) idk how to explain it over text but yea just don’t go to Claire’s and they say it’s “free” but they make u pay like $30+ for the earrings they use to pierce u🍵
when i got my ears pierced at Claire’s, they completely screwed up my right ear. It’s not even. And when they pierced it, part of the gun got stuck. Tip of advice: get piercings done at professional places like tattoo & piercing shops (the ones that aren’t sketchy. some might be expensive but it’s worth it to make sure they have proper equipment and cleaning tools instead of plastic guns).

For the record, 'cause I love you, using a piercing gun is THE WORST way to pierce anything. Ever. Going to a tattoo shop is 100% the way to go. Guns rip through your tissue instead of piercing it correctly. Hate to be that person, but others really need to know.

Yes!!! Any time I have been pierced with a gun, I have had terrible things happen in the healing process. When I got my firsts on my ear done I had air bubbles in my ears for 2 years
