Let me know if I missed anyone or if anybody should be added to the list!
RIP Reggie Warren, the tall guy with the blond streak was the choreographer for them. I saw them live a number of times and let me tell you, these brothers could move and sing and not sound out of breath. Check out mamacita by them the video of course. TROOP had it going on.
Ahhh man! I didn't know this. He gave that beautiful smile in "All I Do is Think of You". Man! RIP Reggie.
Troop in my opinion had the best choreography of any group. Their songs are just beautiful. I listen to this particular song daily!
this was 1988, they were a breakdancing group before they started singing
I used to live for this video to come on the video countdown it's my favorite troop song because of the memories.
Yes! You always wanna see Troop’s videos/performances along with the song. Their dancing made them stand apart from other groups. Usher has cited them as a group that inspired him as a kid.
Check out their song and video “Mamacita.” It was their first popular song.
You really digging in the crates Youngblood, Troop had a bunch of hits, u should check out Still in Love, Mamacita , I will always love you, Sweet November or their remake of J5's All i do is think of you
the street dance / hip hop elements are what set Troop apart from all of the other male groups they had an edge because of that reason.
Written and produced by the amazing Chuckii Booker. I always loved this video, the choreography is so dope!
New Jack Swing era, JJ 😊

Troop has always been one of my favorites, and I've always loved the dancing in this video. It's some of tightest choreography and most in sync group dancing of that era (not to mention the obvious inspiration for B2K's dance break on the Gots Ta Be video).
great song by troop
This was my song. I remember telling my mother that I was going to “Spread My Wings and Fly Away” when I was a teen. She used to chuckle when I told her that I was moving out. It was the joke of the family. (Yes I’m the youngest). Nonetheless, this song is on my playlist!!
Dope !!!
1 of my fav songs
I think this was my favorite song from them, not that I know a lot about they're music. LA in the back drop? Nice message and delivery, very memorable. Love the beach scenes in the video. Spiritual message, A Love that evermore...
One of my favorite childhood songs of the 90'. Another good group of that era was High Five. Check out their hit "Playing Hard to Get" 😊✌
Troop was the hardest act to follow back in the day! Check out their Arsenio Hall performances!
Spread My Wings the radio version always reminds me of Chuckii Booker’s Turned Away.
He wrote and produced this. They definitely sound very much alike.
Yeah you can definitely hear the Chuckii Booker all in this song, I believe Chuckii produced it.
Just Jammin We Have Actually 2 Remixed Versions Of Spread My Wings This Is Video Version Of Spread My Wings The 2nd.Remix Feat.. Tito Of The Fearless 4 Thank U So So Much...One Love Fam ...
2:24 that aggressive move he does looks like a krumping type of move in battle dances .
You gotta do Mamacita.. and the Troop dance came from them.
Happy birthday to Steven Russell ❤ actually it was Nov 21st.
OMG!! This takes me back to my teenage years! ..I Love this song..Check out " I will always love you " by Troop .It's 🔥 too.
Big Hit!!! Love It!! Thanks for BET back then they played the best R&B Music Videos ..Video Soul with Donnie Simpson ( Big Up) ..
For a more up tempo jam, check out"Im Not Soupped"! Really showcases their dance moves
This is definitely a banger yes the boom gap era
Love this video. This is the version without the rap, which I prefer. During the 90's this was one of the most popular songs, not top tier comparative to a lot of songs as you said but a favorite for that Era for sure.
my favorite version of this song is the "Ballad Version". the song is the same but they take the beat away completely. it gives the keyboard and piano way more shine without being weighed down by the beat. that version has a different feel than the original.
Love this song!!!
Omg this is my child hood 🤣
There wasn't a group that could out-dance Troop.
New Edition and BBD were a tad bit better, in my opinion.
@@lb8471 N.E. Has Performed With Every Other Group Except Us There's Gotta Be A Reason For That But Anyways That's Just Your Opinion...One Love Fam...We Already Know Then And Now Why...
@@jonjonharreld5774, you know I love you!!
@@lb8471 Stop Lyin Babe...It Doesn't Look Good On U...
@@jonjonharreld7602, lying? OK. I loved your group. On Father's Day, my brothers and I debated which group sang "All I Do Is Think Of You" better. One brother said y'all were better. I love Michael Jackson and I NEVER want to admit that someone did anything better than him. My other brother and I said J5 were better. But deep inside, I knew the truth; Toop killed it!
But believe what you want to believe.
Thx JJ for the re reaction, but this still isnt the original song but its better than the first reaction U did of this song!
Ah man, my bad.
@@JustJammin its kool,on 2 the next cuts my Man,FUNK ON!!
Troop in my opinion was the greatest R&B group of all time, they never lip sync and managed to keep up this insane pace of dancing while singing and not to mention the complexity of their dance moves, I mean, their dance moves were advanced and would hold up today, No! one in the 80's was near that skill set and I don't want to hear "New Edition" No disrespect but I wasn't really a fan of the chipmunk voices and mediocre dance moves, Troop had a certain energy that was unmatched and a mature style and approach to their music, it's unbelievable how underrated they were and is pretty much never brought up in any conversation pertaining to R&B greats.
My other Troop song
Boy bands where big back then you had to bring it just to survive Troop held there own for awhile 😊 considering you had to go against New Addition , Boys to Men ,Jodeci and Tony Toni Tone just to name a few 😅
Antwon Fox We Didn't Have To Go Against Anyone Let Me School U Rightquick What U Never Knew Is That We Sat Down For 18 Months Only Working On Our 3rd. CD Not Doing Any Shows Or Interviews And Only Going Through Our Litigation With Our Management Company So Prior To All Of That We Actually Resigned To Atlantic Records To Do Another 7 Albums After Doing Our Deepa Album If That Would've Taken Place Yall Wouldn't Have Ever Seen Boys 2 Men, Jodeci Or Silk U Gotta Understand Because We Sat For 18 Months We Opened The Door For The Other Groups Also At That Time New Edition Was Solo As We Were Intering In The Music Industry...One Love Fam...
Troop never half stepped when it was time to perform.
Just jammin can you React to Lamont Dozier why can't we be lovers and rose aswell.
U trippin that song was #1 for weeks
And you didn't get that whack rap that was on the remix.
This was my jam! Them was some dancing boys. Written by Chucki Booker(Games)
Drummer for Janet Jackson!!
#ChuckiiChuckii
@@lb8471 He was her musical director for the Rhythm Nation tour as well as the opening act. He was not her drummer
@@yousexymf, actually, you're correct; he wasn't the drummer. He was the keyboardist during her Rhythm Nation tour in 1990. I was there (the Houston show). And, yes, he was also her musical director and her opening act.
@@lb8471 🙂👍
