I have to get to 9.6 for my firefighter entrance exam. I only made it to 8 when I practiced for the first time this morning. Thanks for this video, it's brought a lot of inefficiencies to me attention. I'll put them into practice tomorrow morning!

My god the turning one is helpful as hell. I've practiced the bleep test for the past 3 or 4 weeks now and need 8.8 for the fire service. I've been getting to about 8.9/9.0. For 95% of my training, I've been doing the loop at the end of each shuttle. I'm gonna do it again tomorrow but only stepping on the line with one foot and see how that helps.
Well I found the bleep test alot easier because it was in a sports hall. Also because I was training on a field helped my case. Could've easily carried on for alot longer.
Thank you Tara. Having a digital watch and timing those 7 minutes of running is an amazing idea. As you said every level will look like it is taking hours to complete while we are running. As psychology plays important role here. It is a great idea to tell our brain it is just 7 minutes and we can do it. Thank you again for your video.
Super helpful! I'm training to become a special forces soldier in the ADF and need a beep test result of at least 10.1 and this helped me a-lot. I'm getting to 10.2-4 now.
Thank you so much. I used to do 5.5 or 6 in high school and after that I had a hard time knowing how to have a good technique to stop and go on the line. I will try the breathing through the nose. I’m doing the beep test next Saturday for the police force and I need to do get a 5, but the higher you get the more chances you have into getting in. Thanks so much for the tips. I’ll be doing a practice run with my gym teacher this Wednesday and I will try all of these tips then !
This could be good for xtraining. If know heart rate shoots up last 3 minutes. Then do other activitys like battle ropes or hard swimming for 3 minute rounds to simulate what heart lungs experiencing in that last phase of beep test.

@@shushhhhh2674 haha, yes the fitness requirements are very low. These days policing is all about how good the paperwork is as opposed to being fit and strong.
I’ve practiced this test many times. Good tips except one thing…and this is just my opinion based on experience. You talk about turning and avoiding extra distance. The most taxing part about this test is the constant stopping. You can hit the line and turn perfectly but it doesn’t address the stopping fatigue. The constant stopping fatigues the hell out of the quads and deplete oxygen fast. With that said, here’s my tip.: the key is continuing momentum, and here’s what I do that really helps. One you hit the line do a small hop while turning. I know it sounds weird but this counters momentum stoppage enough to where it’ll alleviate some fatigue on the legs. Again, it’s not extra distance that’s the problem. It’s the stop and go momentum blockage.
Thank you Tara 💗 I have one coming up for the police and I couldn't even make it past level 2, this is 15m lol. Not funny.. but yes great tips here. Training starts now :)
