    Just bought this setup Friday from you Gary. It arrived on time and is exactly as described. I assembled it today with no issues. My receipt was even signed by Gary himself. Much appreciated here in Michigan.

    Hey my G just make an extra cut out on the lid for the neck cut and put the cord through there or sacrifice a neck cut for the court to pop out

    when I want to fill in a small opening like around the electric cord is use plumber's putty... It's inexpensive, easy to use and keeps the water out..

      Domes on cloning machones can cause powdery mildew so be careful with that if you do it. G

    Best video on the matter by far!! I have spent hours watching people talk in circles and this guy just builds a bucket right in front of us and clears up everything I was wondering in a few minutes. Thank you!

    As much drilling and swarf as you create you should be able to use the 'shavings' as grow media if you save if , for a few hours :)
    Push away from you when you use a knife, is how I was taught, my dad would have slapped the back of my head ;)
    Thanks for your time and sharing

    Thank you Gary this inspired me to build my own DIY hydroponic cloning mister from across the pond here in the UK. I think your unnamed camera person is great at getting clear good angled shots and at prompting closing statement reminders lol,
    I find them concise and can follow the step by step with ease, keep up the great work happy growing, i for see a bright future for PA Hydroponics and customers.

    An easy solution if you want to avoid cutting into the bucket is to just run the cord out of one of the net cups. You'll give up one site, but it won't leak.

    The issues I have with this is that the little sprayers gets clogged up, every other day etc. l had my DIY cloners buckets etc out in the garage but in the summertime especially living in south Florida, the water inside the bucket will heat up. If I had a garage with ac running in there, it would had solved the whole problem. Once the water temperature hits 80 degrees it just kills the roots. You need to keep the water temperature around 70 to 75 degrees, give and take some. So I've started making cloners out of ice coolers so the water would stay cooler inside. But the temperature started climbing up through the day. you can always throw bottles of frozen water in the cooler which will bring the temperature down temporally. But it'll go up slowly again. So this year I converted the aeroponics into a hydroponics deep water culture cloner. Using a air pump and air stones to bring oxygen into the water. This way the temperature stays stable throughout the day around 74 degrees. Mostly because there's much more water in it about 10 gallons more compared to having only a gallon of water in it with the aeroponics system. So this summer It's all about deep water cloning.
    I haven't decided yet to add any nutrients in it yet. But I just ordered a couple of aquarium sponge filters to keep the water clean.

    • @Kasp559
      @Kasp559 2 года назад

      The bucket is the humidity dome for the rooting area, you only really need one if you're going directly into soil.

    bubble clone vs aero? i just put in my order before seeing this, going for "just throw some air stones in a res, put the cutting in sleeves"... but i can still buy the aero fittings for a spare top-feed water pump.

    • @PAHydroponics
      @PAHydroponics  5 лет назад

      I have done both with great success! Nothing wrong with a bubbling cloner it still works as well as an aeroponic cloner in my opinion and with just aeration it runs cooler. Thanks for watching. G

    Hey Gary. Great videos. So informative. In this vid, when talking of pump size, you go with a 250. Is that gallons per hour? Asking cause we're metric here.

    • @PAHydroponics
      @PAHydroponics  5 лет назад

      Hello and Thanks! 250 Gallons per hour here, you can get away with 150 gph too but I would not go any less than that. Thanks for watching! Gary

  • @Flyingdutchman586
    @Flyingdutchman586 5 лет назад +1

    Much cheaper than "easy clone", good job. I run my hole saw in reverse when I cut, seems to work better, also run your drill in high. No reason you can't grow starter plants in here either, to develop roots before DWC or whatever you choose later. I am keen on the KISS method for everything, KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID. If you don't have to spend lot's, then why do it? Deburring tool..... ha, use a solid metal vegetable peeler or a grinding wheel on your drill.

    • @PAHydroponics
      @PAHydroponics  5 лет назад

      Good point's ! and veg peeler!!! Good idea :) THX G

    Do you need a Dome for this ?? And if so what kind of dome

    • @PAHydroponics
      @PAHydroponics  5 лет назад +2

      No dome needed, the stems are getting sprayed , ex clone once told me they dont use a dome because it shocks plants every time you take it on or off and also more likely to get mildew, you should use one for cloning in soil or starter plugs. Hope this helps. Gary

    Why the use of the water pump? Can't you just use a air pump with the air stone? The water splashes up to the lid with just the air stone, what is the extra pump for?
