To say doing common mods like CAI, headers will lose power without a tune is incorrect. You won’t lose power because those things are engineered by volumetric efficiency, Then they may strap them on a test mule and dyno them but, when this test is done, it’s not always on an aftermarket tune. A better disclaimer might be, if you want to optimize performance, a tune will be needed. Engines are just a pump so, allowing it to operate (breath) as efficiently as possible will always show gains.
Great review loved that you discussed about the pros and cons the diablos are great but like any computer device there's a few bugs but there great for data logging and tuning!
Would love a good update on when you get the Cam. I ordered my 2019 5.7 Challenger and in relying on reviews like yours to fully map out spending etc to land my car where I want it within coming back from overseas. Thanks man. Will sub.

What's going on Donnyr/t I have a 15 Durango R/t with a midmuffler delete, dynomax muffler, and also a gt momentum cai and a pedal commander if I was to get this trinity would I gain some hp and lower my 0-60 time?

You said you need to pcm swap any mopar with this programmer that's not true I dont need a new pcm for my 07 rt it's only for 2015 and up you need to swap pcm or 2014 something like that
So I have a 2020 challenger and I want to get the T2 as well and I’m guessing I have to have the pcm as well bec I’m looking to cam and long tube headers my challenger as well but do I have to buy them In order ? PCM first then T2 or does it really not matter ?
Hey man, is this the platinum that allows custom tuning? I'm stuck on their site, i need the package with the PCM swap, but they dont make it clear if the package trinity allows custom tuning like their page for the trinity..
Canned Tunes? How does this have canned tunes in it? Did you send a list of mods/brands to diablosports and they sent you a tune that you uploaded to the device?
It comes with tunes on it intended for basically stock cars. Im not aware that diablo does custom tunes directly. That would be a custom tune, not a canned tune...
Can you turn off o2 sensors on it and mds for the lifter can you turn off also . I have a 2014 so I don’t half to swap the computer . So do I need this tuner for my car or can I get a cheaper one just want o2 sensors off for long tube headers and for it to be in v8 mode all the time . Turn off the lifters . Thanks
I think you can disable MDS with the tuner but I’m not sure about o2 sensors unless you get a custom tune. You can clear the code with it but the light will come back on after like 30 miles
I just finished installing a cam kit that came with lifter valve springs etc and the emissions delete. I was not aware that it needed a tuner… poor research on my end. So I went to fire it up for the first time in two months last night and the truck ran for about two seconds then threw a code and shut itself off. Hopefully this programmer with the unlocked pcm and a custom tune will fix my issues

I have JBA shorty headers, Borla S type mufflers, and a reso delete with round tips. I am currently using the Diablo 91 octane tune but you can get good tunes thru HemiFever or Jay Greene
@@DonnySRT I want to get a Jay Greene Tune but I think he emails them. So I think the Diablo will work then. Trying to figure out how an email tune would do if he isn’t seeing my car in person though. Do you know if I will still be able to dyno the car and get custom tunes in a shop if I ever wanted to do that? thanks for the reply.
Yea ultimately over email they’re kinda guessing what’s best for the car. Some shops tune with Diablo but I think they prefer HP since the Diablo software is fairly expensive
Hey man. Picking up one of these tuners and shorty headers are probably the next performance mods I want to do for my '14 R/T. Which do you think I should do first? I figured the tuner would probably make more sense, as I've already put in a CAI and exhaust. Just wanted another opinion on it.
I would do the tuner first! You’ll see more of a difference that way. I did it the other way around and it felt like I lost low end torque when I got my headers
Hey Donny rt, i'm undecided to buy the diablo i3 or the t2 in your experience which you recommend. I have a Doge Charger RT 2011 5.7 and I have already integrated a commander pedal.
Hey sorry it took so long to respond, the T2 is nice because it has 0-60 timers and stuff built in - Im not sure that the i3 allows things like that. It really depends on the price difference and whether or not you already have the performance pages
@@DonnySRT - So far I'm thinking of new headers, exhaust and possibly intake manifold. I haven't sat down and priced everything out yet. Any suggestions?
These hand held tuners are nice. This one allows you to monitor a ton of different readings. You can use the tune that comes preloaded or you can also get a custom tune emailed to you if you don’t wanna go the dyno tune route. Custom tunes are pretty nice improvements
@@DonnySRT That's pretty cool the only reason I'm not to sure on which tune for my car is because I've had a few people put tunes on their daily driver and the car ended up having issues after a while trying to fight the computer.
Yea man, that happens sometimes. That's one of the risks with modifying these things. If you go with a reputable tuner like Hemifever or Jay Greene, you shouldn't have any issues

Nice review on the T2 - I still use mine. Def glad I got the display screen, worth it
Thanks man! Yea - I agree, its definitely worth the extra money over the i3

Dyno a hemi before and after Mopar cold air intake and saw at least 13 hp gain without any other mod.

Did it throw any check engine lights when u swapped the pcm?

Yes

That little programmer should have some tunes loaded on it! You’re able to plug it into the Obd2 port right?
DonnyR/T yes it fits the port and there are some tunes loaded into it but I just wasn’t sure if I should trust it or not
Ah that's understandable. You can download the Diablo ignition software and update it and reset the programmer and then it should be sage
