You should compliment the exhaust and CAI with a bigger or ported throttle body and a cleaned up intake manifold. These 5.7's have the cast plastic intake manifold and they have a lot of "flashing" (not sure if that still applies with plastic?) that disrupts and slows airflow thru the intake manifold.

Those are good numbers, you have to compare with other cars on the same dyno in similar weather conditions, your 448 would be about 424 at the crank, I ran my car on the dyno at a car show this last weekend and asked that they dyno in 6th gear which is 1 to 1, but they refused due to high wheel speed in 6th, so they used 4th. I was happy with my results compared to other 5.7's.
I'm slightly confused folks. As I remember, manufacturers rated horsepower and torque at the engine flywheel/flexplate up thru 1971. It was referred to as "brake horsepower" (bhp). In 1972, the term "net hp" was coined and it referred to measurement at the rear wheels. Unless there has been a change since then, manufacturers claims for hp/torque are supposed to be in reference to rear wheel measurement. So why is this dude speaking of a reference to "crank measurement", at the end?
Manufacturers give the horsepower output of engines based on what is produced at the crank, this is a higher number of the true horsepower numbers that matter, which is at the rear wheels, so 370hp is from the crank, reduced to around 342 at the wheels.
@@RydinNStyle Sorry if I wasn't clear! I understand what you wrote, however, in 1972 the manufacturers began to express HP/Torque in "net" terms, at the rear wheels. So when did the industry revert back to "brake HP"?

Just curious but why would you say only three pulls? If it's on the dyno are you not getting it tuned? I figured you would because it's a Diablo headline? But sometimes it takes more than three pulls to get the AFR PERFECT ACROSS THE RPM BAND. Just sayin!! My mechanic Did 11 pulls tuning my hellcat to make 1250rwhp 1330lbs torque. That's also the fastest kitty in Jupiter Florida but my point is 3 pulls is a red flag!! No tuner says where doing 3 pulls.. we rent out the dyno by the hour and you do as many as you need..
@@RydinNStyle so its been on the dyno before and tuned?? Is this what your telling me? Or are you saying that this is a canned tune from diablo? That is not fine tuning a car.. its optimizing it a bit but the main reason is to get that PCM unlocked and then it can be tuned correctly.. I could hook up my HP tuner to your car and get you 30 more. I'm just tryikh to be helpful. Car just needs a little smoothing and about a 13.2 AFR.. nice car though.. I had 2.. got a 392 Daytona and. Great video im sure ill see some similar numbers before i add headers. My basic mod list for my 5.7 engine is Ported intake manifold to 87mm 87mm throttle body Ported cylinder heads with valve spring upgrade. 6.4 camshaft upgrade from 5.7 K&N short ram intake(on car when purchased). Borla custom catback exhaust system. ARH Long tube headers 180 degree thermostat

Thought about doing the diablo to my car, but heard that the 6.4 is pretty much as good as it gets (485hp 470lbs at crank) as far as stock car -diablo tune vs cost. I really want to turn my 392 into a 426 stroker making the internals bullet proof before going the forced induction route of twin turbos.(but that is a long way down the road and alot of overtime to afford it) The active exhaust is awesome.
Sounds like you may just need to bump it up yo a hellcat. Yes, its risky to retune the 392 as its already got a fine tune from the factory. It's designed to remain stock, others have only had engine problems when trying to add hp
@@RydinNStyle Arlington performance has a conversion kit for the 392 to 426 stroker (heads, crank, pistons, connecting rods, ect for $6500.00) they say it's suppost to bump the hp & torque by about 33% over stock which rough math would be about 630hp at crank still NA, and then they also have the twin turbo kit with full exhaust for $10k(the only thing I don't like about that is the turbos are under the car and it would be a small fortune to have them do it tune and dyno-but I heard they are the best at making high power gen 3 hemi's. Ok I have a 2015 Dodge Charger rt stock. The only thing is it is straight piped. I wanna buy a tuner but my friend is saying I’d have to send off my ecu is that true?
From 2015+, the factory computer needs to be unlocked as Dodge kicked the computer to cause customers to spend extra money to unlock it. Diablo sells unlocked pcms with their tuners for around $600 or you could send in your stock one to be unlocked
Ok, not exactly sure, this is correct cause this has to do with a Scat Pack. I was reading somebody's post about bad dyno results in a forum I belong to. If you ever dyno your car again, try doing a pull in 6th gear, it's 1:1 ratio
What's a scats dyno at wheel stock? I want to make my 392 into 426 stroker, bulletproof the internals, then go for twin turbo. I mean, it's fast now, but I want more.

That's also the fastest kitty in Jupiter Florida but my point is 3 pulls is a red flag!! No tuner says where doing 3 pulls.. we rent out the dyno by the hour and you do as many as you need..
It was already tuned with the diablo i3 prior to the dyno, I wanted to see those numbers
Hellcat
It looked like you were in an enclosed shop? If so, you would make a little more if you were in an open shop {garage door open}.
I wasn't impressed with the ventilation in the shop, great info thanks
Great video im sure ill see some similar numbers before i add headers.
My basic mod list for my 5.7 engine is
Ported intake manifold to 87mm
87mm throttle body
Ported cylinder heads with valve spring upgrade.
6.4 camshaft upgrade from 5.7
K&N short ram intake(on car when purchased).
Borla custom catback exhaust system.
ARH Long tube headers
180 degree thermostat
Whoa Weezy that list is putting your car into beast mode.
Rydin N Style I have so if those parts already I'm thinking about buying some separate cylinder heads clean them save up to get them ported those will have valve spring upgrade in them
Thought about doing the diablo to my car, but heard that the 6.4 is pretty much as good as it gets (485hp 470lbs at crank) as far as stock car -diablo tune vs cost.
Love the car
@@RydinNStyle once im done paying off my stupid Chevy Cruze (my commuter) gonna dump the thing and get AWD v6 charger . All about mopar now, love it
@@mattcarafa210 You get a lot of snow where you live? AWD would be nice.
@@Dialysisforever yeah, AWD would be nice, go threw withdraws when I have to put away the big car, have a Chevy cruse(sucks) to commute back and forth to work, would like to trade it in and get an older charger awd with the 5.7 or a newer one with the v6 and then super charge. It's hard to go back to the hamburger when you have acquired a taste for steak.
Thats a ton of Hp. 200 hp was muscle car material way back in the day
Wow must have been fun times. Im growing up seeing 650 whp hellcats thinking my rt isnt enough haha but now I can just imagine driving in the 70s thinking I have a fast muscle car
I mean that's actually a pretty normal number, not bad at all around 405 crank probably. Nice.
I guess I was hoping for slightly higher with the diablo tune/pcm swap and exhaust upgrade
@@RydinNStyle Yeah I get it. I mean on the road with more airflow you probably get another 5 to 10 wheel. If you go and get a dyno tune you could definitely pick up a little more.
Did the diablo pcm void you’re warranty ? Please let me know bro
I bought a separate pcm with the tuner so I still have the stock pcm, but my factory warranty already expired last year
Rydin N Style I did the exact same thing I have 2 pcms but I’m still scared to take it back to the dealer even if I put the stock pcm back in
Good numbers considering whats done. Ditch the Diablo tune and get a custom tune, you wont be disappointed. Throw on a set of headers, and a cam.
GEE MAN great advice on the tune, thanks man 👍
Mopar or no car
As long as your happy thats all it matters. Just subscribe to you.
That is the truth, thank you for the sub
Ok I have a 2015 Dodge Charger rt stock. The only thing is it is straight piped. I wanna buy a tuner but my friend is saying I’d have to send off my ecu is that true?
Not just for a straight pipe, only if you've done any tuning, you'll need to have your pcm unlocked
What does that mean can I not just buy a I3 tuner and plug it in?
From 2015+, the factory computer needs to be unlocked as Dodge kicked the computer to cause customers to spend extra money to unlock it. Diablo sells unlocked pcms with their tuners for around $600 or you could send in your stock one to be unlocked
Rydin N Style do u know how much money they would garage me for me to send it in and they unlock it?
Charge*
Nothing better than a costom tune, I got for a client 367 WHP Charger 2011 5.7L everything stock.
How? With hp tuners or Diablo
@@just_a5.7 HP Tuners, custom tune
Ok, not exactly sure, this is correct cause this has to do with a Scat Pack. I was reading somebody's post about bad dyno results in a forum I belong to. If you ever dyno your car again, try doing a pull in 6th gear, it's 1:1 ratio
dodgeboy90501 that's what o heard too. Thanks for the info
What's a scats dyno at wheel stock? I want to make my 392 into 426 stroker, bulletproof the internals, then go for twin turbo. I mean, it's fast now, but I want more.
Look like about 400hp 🙏🔥🔥
Stock thermo and TB, right?
Tom McBriarty yes, everything stock
Cool, I have a 2018 R/T with res deletes, intake, 180* thermo (recommended!), and 85mm TB. So I guess mine would dyno close to yours.
Very nice...great video...I'm not a fan of the can tunes..but as long as you're happy
The 570 Experience I'm never satisfied with performance, always looking for a little bit more. I hope all is well on your end brother.
Yes...I hear ya...I'm the same...yes things are looking up
What do u mean u will take that? Thats a stock number, would investigate more if i was u
Rads Motorsport! Hawaii’s finest bro lol
Hell yeah bro!
Zak Fuji thanks brother
Rydin N Style I think it would have been higher in 6th gears since we have the 8 speed bro, think you’d try it again?
What are those wheels called please ?
20x10 gloss black replica hellcat wheels
I have the Diablo I3 tuner and the pcm swap 3 weeks ago...still can't changed the rev limiter like yours to 6000rpms...its getting frustrating with their support tech!
Hemi Mike I think it was done automatically because I haven't done anything after instslling the tuner. I don't think the tazer had anything to do with the rev limiter.
Thats weird, I've seen bone stock on dynos average about 350 hp and 370 to. Considering you said you did mods, how come nothing changed at all?
Bone stock will never do 350 to the wheel.
@@brandonh9016 exactly, and total bullshit saying a stock 5.7 is 370 at wheels.
Car sounds so good on the Dyno dude! Don’t be upset mothers numbers that’s pretty average for what you have. If you want to get some real torque do long tube headers if you want little extra horsepower do Shorty headers. Remember torque wins races!
Awesome info, I'm thinking of inventing headers that can be adjusted depending on the need, changeable between stock, long tube and shorty...the ultimate headers mod
Rydin N Style do the long tubes I pulled in 398 whp I have a Dyno video but I didn't post my numbers due to local street teams wanting to race me 😂
Wow, that's impressive. You've got a tune as well?
ruclips.net/video/bcOvAaqpcCk/видео.html
Rydin N Style I have the Diablo i2intune but remember I told ya my tuner said the Diablo isn't doing anything I dynoed without it my mods are hellcat induction long tubes cat delete with a v stack on headlight
Do have headers or throttle body might make a few more hp
I was similar. I hit 347 with just intake and straight pipe.
Tazzo 729 that's a good number. I thought mine was low because I also had the Diablo with the unlocked pcm
My bone stock 5.7 2018 charger dynoed at 335whp....this is just sad man.....I got a diablo...corsa long tubes and catback and intake....its now at 414whp
I know, but I've since upgraded to a hellcat
Can you I mean I think so can you tune a stock car..on a dyno tune
You'll need to have a tuner installed to unlock the engines full potential. If it's a 2015+, then you'll also need to unlock the PCM to tune it.
My is 2006 rt
You should be able to install a diablo tuner without any computer issues, but you will need a tuner
what is Ryan talking about "the drop"
Yea, I was wondering what the "drop" is too...
Rpm are like at 5k when let's out
Size rims?
275 in back 245 in front x20
Not taking smack or anything just throwing some info out there but my 07’ Charger 5.7 with a canned CAI tune it put out 336hp and 376tq. It has underdrive pulley, CAI, magnaflow catback.
Great numbets, I was hoping my numbers would've been a little higher with the Diablo tune/unlocked pcm
Rydin N Style what elevation were you at? I dyno’ed at sea level basically
It should have been a little more than that with tune a stock puts 348 without a tune
john Freeman incorrect, stock puts out 315-320rwhp at %15 drivetrain loss from 370hp!
john Freeman I'm wondering if the unlocked pcm and tune made any significant difference, hmmmmm
My buddy jas a 14 challenger with a pcm and borla attak catback... nothimg more..........
hes doing 370 to the wheels...
Hemi on 4s just had a friend with a 14 rt do 348 with cai & straight exhaust but it may depend on dyno all the video's & forums stock r/t are making around 340-350 rwhp
The best 5.7 models are the 2012+ squads. They have the SRT wide-open fuel trims and timing schedules. No tuning required (or recommended).
I have a 2012 challenger rt so I wanna mod but I want my moneys worth my dad stressed a tune he don’t want me to put work in the engine he’s a mechanic but I feel he wants me to take the safe route
348, that's it? My 15 R/T Plus put down 343 to the tires BONE STOCK have papers to prove it. All those mods don't seem worth it for a lousy 5 HP, which you aren't going to feel anyway.
I was told that they needed to do the run in 6th gear and not 3rd or 4th, to get a true reading. Overall, I wasn't too impressed.
All of those mods are pointless. The stock airbox supplies plenty of air and the tunes are garbage. The bottle neck on these cars are at the headers and the camshaft. This guy just threw 1000 bucks away.
wait all 5.7 stock rt make 350 wheel power how do you have the tune and intake and exhaust and sit at the same power?
Yep, that was what I couldn't understand
Wow the v6's are right around the corner
You ain't lying, the R/T now is what the SRT used to be
Loved the video, I wish the people dynoing the car would have known what they were doing because my 13 daytona charger makes 390 at the wheel with no mods right now.. I think you got way more power than 338
Had my 2013 RT dyno tuned at 561 all wheel horsepower the car is crazy fast now
Mods: 270 comp cam
Long tube headers
3800 stall
Procharger
Pro charger is definitely the way to go
Diddy Cannon - I have a 2012 RT and am thinking about doing the exact same mods that you have done. Just curious, what procharger did you go with and what amount of boost? I am looking at the Procharger and the Whipple Superchargers. Which headers? Kook's long tube headers are the ones I'm considering even tho they're stupidly expensive. Any other exhaust mods? And one last question.. did you use the Diablo to tune your car? Any check engine lights? Thanks so much for your help.
@@ginagencarelli4060 I have 7 pounds of boost at the moment. I went with a 270 comp cam and American long tube headers.the only tune you can have is an dyno tune when you adding a supercharger
@@ginagencarelli4060 no check engine lights at all
@@marcuswhite9059 Thank you for your help! I wonder if you'd get any more out of it if you did some high flow performance cats on it.
Def red a dyno tune. Those canned tunes are known to hurt, do nothing or add some performance.
I'd buy that for a dollar! .....(Robcop)
Tommy K haha, good one. You've got 3 seconds to comply
Average is 340whp on these 5.7's
I wondered what horsepower gains would come after the tuner unlocked the engine's full potential
CAI are a waste of money on these cars. The factory intake setup is a cold air intake.
True, with a closed box.
@RydinNStyle yeah, the worst ones are the ones that have just a shield behind the filter. IAT will actually be higher than the factory. Not to mention metal pipes heat soak.
Anyway, thank you for making this video. I was wondering if the tune would be worth it. I have a 2014 Pursuit, that is stock except for a SLP LM1 catback.
You need to voice commercials!!
Haha, thank you
With a cam it will be more power
Ah, good to know, thank you
@@RydinNStyle you welcome!
An intake and a cat back..bro wtf did you expect..900hp...you literally have 0 things done.....no headers...no throttle body..literally nothing...its like you took a stock ass 5.7 and dynoed it.....I cant...some people need helmets
Oh shit an oil catch can...big HP GAINS OVER HERE.....
I had it tuned with the diablo tuner and wanted to see the engine "unlocked" as advertised to add 35hp
Sounds great. Shitty tuner Ryan.. not your fault
I’ve seen stock 5.7s run those numbers lol.
Where?
Want more hp? Save your $ and get a scatpack.
Torque wins races.
☹️ I don’t think you happy
thats all you get from an rt i have a 3.7 v6 mustang putting out 359 shit
That’s whp not hp there’s a average loss of like 15 percent. He’s probably pushing around 390ish hp
Shit was pretty weak!
