What is in the MasterBlend mixture? I want to insure my grow is organic. Is it possible to make my own MasterBlend or buy in bulk? 2.5lbs won't go very far, it seems.

2.5 pounds makes 190 gallons. We do not sell in bulk at this time. It is all natural including minerals. Minerals by definition are not organic but needed for complete plant nutrition. One more thing about MasterBlend - the heavy metals are taken out - a good thing - which also makes it "not" organic. We call it better than organic, natural nutrients. Hope that helps. Thanks

Idk who this clown is who commented saying you can’t buy Masterblend in bulk but it’s the preferred lineup for Big agriculture and you can absolutely buy in bulk.
      I buy 25 pound bags.

    Sir, its noisy

Check TDS. Fill as needed. Usually just topping off is sufficient. Sometimes you even need to do less nutrient mix. Great growth and fruit for over 3 years this way.
    Thanks

    Your efforts are appreciated,
I have a question, in a closed irrigation system, the water that goes back in the return line to the main tank will be poor in nutrients due to its uptake from plants which will lead to an imbalance of nutrients in the main tank
Please explain what do you do to avoid this problem??

I can hear what you are saying without a problem. My question is... Do you tweak the masterblend mix a little for different veges?

there an numerous charts out for various vegetables that you can look up online, but to aanswer your question there are different amount for different plants

Seems you are facing challenge in maintaining GH temperature in acceptable range. Too many fans and too much noice.

The mics pick up too much background noise. Temps are fine for growing economically. Thanks

Your knowledge and explanation is simply amazing. I have a small query. You were saying after adjusting EC to desired range, then ph should be adjusted. In large commercial hydroponics farm also do they follow this? Implies dosing pumps of EC adjust first after which dosing pumps of ph come into play later? Or both EC and ph dosing pumps run as per reading, please throw some light on the sequence followed in maintaining large commercial farm

PH first to 7.0 or so. The nutrient will usually bring it down to the 6.2-6.5 range. Metered dosing pumps for large operations are suggested. Ph is tested before and after to make sure it is correct so nutrients are not locked out. Thanks

sorry i hate to disagree with your process if your PH is in the 8 and sometime 9 range coming out of grounds then my question is is it calcium carbonate CaCO3 or another carbonate pushing the water into the 8 to 9 range , and if CaCO3 and traces of FeCO3 and you keep just topping up your nutrient bins versus exchanging some like remove 30% to 40% and top up with fresh solution all you are doing is building up various mineral salts plants cannot use and in extreme cases the plants cannot absorb the proper dissolved nutrient salts. having the calcium in high level then added additional calcium nitrate from the nutrient solution then topping up with more high calcium water , worst case you inpart a calcium toxicity in the plants and the outer edges of the leafs will start to yellow or pale. i would serious get test kit and see what mineral is dissolved so as not to build up certain ones in solution and drain out and change as needed before critical levels even come close to heavy concentration

The one greenhouse in question (out of many) in southern MO has been growing great for about 2 years now. That area of the country is know for its high PH do to the limestone content. Running aquaponics and hydroponics with no problem. EC and TDS look good. PH is 6.7 - 7.0 consistently. Thanks

@@greenhousesolutions1074 so limestone so an excess of calcium can build up if you top up water that has evaporated or transpired via plants and has left a high concentration of calcium compounds in water, it would be interesting to see how high the actual level are in the solution at the end. and if you do notice outer edges and fringes of leafs paler or even taking on a yellow tone then you will know to check for calcium toxicity in the solution, and yes some plants are more tolerant to extreme level of calcium . ...... when top up tanks if in doubt test
