short answer: boredom/trying something new. long answer: was using my real cameras as props and needed 2 angles that weren't wide like GoPros or a phone - also had been meaning to work more with those camcorders more and genuinely didn't think their image quality was that far off from the other cameras - i don't usually notice much of an image quality difference mixing cameras by the time they get graded and set to 1080p
