I have a 2022 C-class coupe AMG line. It doesn't have the hybrid engine. It does give off a burning smell after driving that smells like metal-to-metal burning. (may be transmission) Engine is relatively quick, but does suffer from some turbo lag.
No oil dipstick! That's not good. The dipstick isn't just for checking level. It's also used to check the _condition_ of the oil. A computer can't do that.
I had this engine and it had potential cylinder head assembly issues very early on. The car will misfire and idle rough. There’s no simple fix either , open heart surgery (engine rebuild) or heart transplant (new engine) were the only options to remedy the issue. $12,000+ in 4 years. Stay away from these cars. Great to lease but that’s it
@@melvinmerlos8771 how often did you change the oil. Only reason I’m asking is because you’re supposed to change it every 5k miles not 10k like the handbook states.
These engines just came out about a year ago. It would be under warranty. So you’re likely talking about another engine. So this is not your engine buddy. That said it is a complicated engine and Mercedes is expecting most of the maintenance to be carried out by dealerships z
Wow, one of the best, semi-tech reviews that I have ever seen, thanks.
Holy complicated engine batman!
Yeah, the variable valve stuff seems really complicated.
Holy Rubiks-cube Robin, I think youre right😂😂😂😂😊
If you look up engine replacement in the service manual it just says "viel Glück"

I’m having trouble fixing the radiator hoses please
Thanks for the info. love your video.
Really cool channel you've got here. If you ever get the chance, could you do a video on the legendary Mercedes M177 V8 biturbo engine?
how can we tune this engine and car? i heard is not tuneable friendly?
Surely someone somewhere has the keys to the Kingdom. Generally speaking MBZ doesn't want people messing around with it.
Pretty amazing technology, but sounds awfully complicated if something goes wrong. That being said it does look impressive.
Great video
Is this the same powerplant going into the 2023 GLC?
Yes sir
Is it normal for this car to make a noise when you stop the car and the start/stop engages and vice versa ?
Yea
Send the air to turbo to spin it up, then those turbo power being sent to air-to-liquid intercooler, which is the same way but turn around. Hot damn
Need more experience on the engine and hoses

Well some can actually.
@@TDTVGarage Really? that's awesome!
But what to do when the techs added too much oil? No tube to suck any out wtf
@@christhurstone6139you can check the level from service option on driver side screen
And no trans fluid dip stick on 7 and 9-speed transmissions. (and not way to check electronically) This is a pain.
so there is a turbo AND electric kompressor? and eq boost... sounds like a dream engine, if reliable.
