- Machines hailing from the workshop of Jim Alonze have been amongst the most outstanding motorcycles to grace the Bike Shed Moto Show. And his 2019 contribution, the Alonze 600 Special, is no exception.
When we heard his 600 Special was up for sale we had to get Jim and this astonishing machine down to Bike Shed Shoreditch to admire it once more and hear from the man himself. Jim talks us through his build process and some of the choices he made along the way. Oh, and he also fired it up... a noise powerful enough to wake the slumbering Gods. Enjoy.

Jim Alonze. The most unassuming custom bike builder in the UK. It was my favourite of the 2019 show. A proper and original custom work of art. But still oozes Ducati from every pore.
No small feat to make a Ducati more gorgeous.
To take a pedestrian, 600cx Monster and create this is astonishing. Every angle. Every detail. More trellis please!
The frame,front end and swing arm look amazing on that bike.

So often with so called custom bikes it's just a stock bike someone has removed parts from. This specimen right here actually feels like a standalone bike, and the maker should be proud. This is proper.
Where can one find and purchase the Dukati 750 special from 2022 you mentioned in the beginning, and the bike you show here the 600 special, where can one likely look at this and perhaps purchase one?

Lovely bike! The amount of fabrication is incredible on this one. Curious what year monster motor that is I've never seen one that detailed. One more thing are you guys slowing the fps to 24 or something odd stutters throughout?

As a sheetmetal fabricator I can only admire the skill involved to achieve such a fantastic level of detail and finish.
Anyone who has ever tried to fabricate a lobster back bend will appreciate the difficulty involved with the exhaust system !!!

Absolutely beautiful and what a serious designer and craftsman Jim clearly is. I can't help but wonder what this bike would look like with other than solid wheels. For me, that screams V-Rod and not Ducati. Otherwise, it is truly gorgeous! Cheers from Sydney - Dave
Congratulations. What a beauty. As an owner of a 620, I just ask Ducati to bring back the tubular frames.
It is an absolutely beautiful piece of art. But I don't think it should maintain the pretense of performance (sporty bodywork and seating position) when it has clearly prioritized looks over performance. It is a visual feast, but nearly everything done to it would actually slow it down.
I do really love just looking at it. Fantastic build.
Before you pop back telling me how I'm wrong do consider that my opinions are derived from decades of experience and I might just know what I'm talking about.

Love it from the side, love the frame, wheels, swingarm..... the headlight is ugly AF though. Its funny as most British specials have horrible projector headlights.
But, did this rockshox work properly for sustain a brake diving of a motorbike? It would be a shame, owning a so beautiful bike and can't ride it

reminds me of the bikes in the 80s called Sigma that had plastic cover over the spokes.
600 air-cooled Ducati? You could cane the nuts off that and still not get anywhere...

Sincerely, I never thought that I will see someone will build my taste of Cafe racers to a degree that I want to make a garage special for this style, but I I still want to do it in the future, seeing somebody made it is really emotional
Is there a reason for the curled exhausts. Is it to lengthen them like a 2T system.
