- This is the series in which Chaka joined by fellow RUclipsr and ex JW activist Ruby Quinn ( / @newyorkerrican ) give their take on the week's Watchtower study that Jehovah's Witnesses all over the world will be reading and regurgitating at their meetings.
In this week's article (study article number 10 for May 13-19 2024) entitled "Keep Following Jesus After Baptism" (wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2..., the Watchtower writers inadvertently admit that the religion has a problem with youths in the religion not being on board with the Jehovah's Witnesses' arbitrary rules and leading "double lives." Chaka also comments on the pressure the religion puts on members to fight "sinful desires" and "tendencies", and how this adversely impacts members' mental health. Ruby gives her comments from a Christian perspective.

Yep. When I was 18 years old approximately 90 percent of the young adults I knew in the cult were leading double lives on some level.
It's funny in this religion that when kids are just doing normal kids stuff It's called a "double life". Unless a kid behaves and talks like a 50-year-old then that's bad (smh)
I left the meetings at 24 and I still was a non-masturbating, never smoked, never drank, didnt cuss, never kissed virgin.
Edit. Even though I stopped going at 24, I was a virgin until 33 and first kiss at 32.

You are so right! Once loooooog time ago, I was in JW service with one DL friend of mine. One stupid householder 🥸🤯 was showing intressed in that blue book we had so sell back then. It was to sell for about 1 DM (german mark). My friend sold it for 5 DM 😳, to that we have some money for cigarettes 🥳and beer 🍻 we wanted to smoke and drink later. I hardly could hold my laughter while he received the money. 😄😆🤣

Thank you Siggimad🙏🙏🙏 I went to one of Bart's free lectures entitled "Did Peter Hate Paul?" He really put his all in and it was very insightful. I think you wouldn't be disappointed if you bought one of his courses. Although he has quite a few free courses on there so might be an idea to start off with those.

Oh my - Thoughts - Yes - Thinking someone is attractive is a secret sin. I remember the watchtower which warned that thinking of someone else when paying the marital due was a sin which you must not do! I remember laughing with a friend that thinking of someone else when in the throes of passion, was the only thing keeping jw couples together 😅

I do not doubt for one nano-second that many ‘000’s if not 10’s 000 of Jehovah’s witnesses have a sincere and deep faith on our Lord Jesus Christ. True, some of their knowledge is a bit off the true path, but tell me, which body of believers today have an unbroken connection to “the Truth” beyond reasonable doubt? - John 8:32.
If you do know, please tell me and I will go to their meetings immediately.
As humans we are imperfect and make mistakes often as did the apostles or for that matter all Christians. However, there are those both adult and teens in the JW organization that live double lives. How does one become an Ex?
