I live near New Smyrna Beach, there are jetty’s, fishermen, and surfers 🏄♀️..I don’t go to that part of the beach due to sharks. I know a lot of people who surf there and have never been bitten 🌴🙋♀️
I’m sure the experts opinion & that shark attacks are rare is such a great comfort to the teen that lost her leg & hand and the lady that lost her arm as well as the family of the Russian man that was eaten while swimming in the Red Sea. I don’t care how rare attacks are or what advice experts give, my @$$ is staying out of the ocean. I also don’t stand outside when there’s lightning or climb mountains or crawl through caves. My life is worth a lot more than whatever brief pleasure or thrill is obtained by doing something dangerous. There is nothing smart or brave about risking your life doing unnecessary activities.
@ nichmon3221 You do realize that in order to live a high quality life you have to actually be alive don’t you? It’s impossible to live any quality of life if you’re no longer alive. Only a f00I would think it’s necessary to risk your safety & endanger your life to have a high quality life. I have lived a high quality life without taking unnecessary risks. I have family & friends I love & cherish so much that I want to live as long as possible so I can be there for them. I love my work with children & I am starting to plan for my retirement. I have a hobby I’ve enjoyed for over 50 years. People that endanger their lives doing risky, pointless activities in pursuit of an adrenaline rush are nothing more than junkies. No better than the meth & Coke heads that populate the morgue. So go ahead & selfishly risk your Iife for a temporary high. Your luck will eventually run out & while you’re turning to dust in the ground I’ll be spending time with those I love, enjoying my retirement & having fun with my hobbies.
@sokaa2487. Because I have to in order to function in society. Driving & riding in motorized vehicles is a NECESSARY risk. If you actually read my first comment you would have seen I specifically said swimming in the ocean, climbing mountains & crawling through caves is “unnecessary”. Throughout human existence billions of people have lived their entire lives without doing those things. It is not necessary for the vast majority of people to risk their lives doing pointless activities like swimming & diving in the ocean or climbing rocks & mountains or crawling through caves. Most of those who risk their lives doing such pointless things do it to get the adrenaline rush. They do it to get high. I don’t get a rush driving my car to work or to the grocery store. I’m doing it out of necessity not to get high. Plus even though it is necessary for me to drive & ride in cars in order to get around & do what I need to do to function in society it is not necessary for me to risk my life driving race cars or dragsters or monster trucks or participate in demolition derby’s, so I don’t. I don’t ride horses anymore either even though I have spent my entire life with & around them. Riding horses isn’t a requirement for me to get through my day & I’m old enough now that falling off a horse can cause serious harm so I no longer ride. I enjoy spending time with the horses & caring for them but it’s not necessary for me to ride them so I avoid that risk.
The thing is we have been taking all of the sharks food sources. As the years go on demand is higher but we aren’t giving the ocean enough time to repopulate so it’s our fault 100% I hate that people are getting hurt but 2+2=4🤷🏼♀️
I don't think it's as simple as this "expert" is making it out to be. SharkS may not be targeting people but this one shark might be. 3 people bitten in an hours time 4 miles apart is probably the same shark. This expert studies the genetics of sharks , shark behavior is an entirely different thing. Be safe in the water guys, especially at this Walton County beach
Shark expert says there are sharks everywhere, so if the wanted to eat us they would.... While he's interviewing regarding a shark attack where the shark ate peoples limbs.
Sharks are opertunistic eaters, but they also know injury could mean death for them like all apex predators, humans are large prey, but if they think they can hit you without injury they will dobit.
Thousands of shark are not on the shore line - what a joke he even said that. The actual percentage of interactions from swimmers and sharks is minimal globally, these interactions are what result in attacks. For instance - far more people hike trails with bears and wolves in the area - with it being extremely rare to have a fatal attack, where as there are less sharks on the shore line and fewer people swimming than hikers recreationally ( also his statistic of daily swimmers includes paddlers, who are not swimming) therefore the actual potential of an attack from an interaction from a shark is clearly far higher than this expert says. It is as if some sharks see humans as potential food - and most land animals have learnt humans are dangerous.
Best way to avoid attacks is stay out of the water 🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍

@@clake8931 They never got a bite?
The reward is not worth the risk. Enjoy the beach but don't swim with the sharks. 🦈🦈🦈
50 to 60 globally. You have a better day chance of getting in a plane crash and hitting the lottery in the same day
Thousand of sharks, I thought they were extinct
Theyre not attacking; they are moving through THEIR territory. We are in their way.
👏 👏 👏
Long time FL man here and I'm here to say that Tourists make the best shark turds. Stay at home.
No they said they prefer locally grown food
@@Amsterdam89 Locals are never bitten ...
Black tip is the only one that has approached me while surfing. Thanks for informing everyone man

Why would you then go into car, its much more dangerous then swimming in ocean

@@learobinson4450agreed. I’d rather have a laugh with friends and family, along with eating good food and drinking beer. Works for me anyway!! 😂

Shark attacks are the same as fishing. Look something to eat. Let's do this.
"Top shark expert"...OK!!!
Russian military exercises and now thousands of sharks?? Humm
