Biiiiggg thanks to you for trying to help me with my bike. I got it using the multimeter technique checking the resistance and my bike is now working. I made a video on how i made it for those who dont want to do it with the feeler gage. Again thank you youre the man
Thi is not what the procedure in the manual says. Rather the points should be just opening when the timing marks coencide. Very easy uing an analog multimeter. Perhaps the US version is different.
@@2strokeguru , good morning. When I select year for ke 100 it says doesn’t fit. Is it a standard 27mm? Thanks, also I can’t seem to find a condenser for it either
Hello again Kevin. I have a 78 ts185. The carb that’s in it is a push pull type carb. I have cleaned it several times. I can’t find any repair parts at all. The needle seems to be worn and has a groove in it. I’m wondering if a standard style carb will work on it. I have cleaned it extensively and can get it to run but stalls after 20 seconds or so. I ordered a makuni style carb for it along with the insulator to bolt the carb up. Is this ok to do? I have a new throttle cable for that style carb.
Hey Kevin, I have a project bike I am working on but it only has a ground wire coming off of the coils. Do you know where I could find the wire harness for the rest of the wire for a full connection or would is it possible to solder up new wires to the coils? Thank you so much!
Hey Kev. I incorrectly set my KE100 gap to .35 ON THE TIMING MARK, and it ran, but no throttle response. When I set the points to JUST open at the mark, and .35 at the widest, it will not start at all. Why did the incorrect timing fire? I'm losing my mind.
hi mines got a b8hs plug is this ok ,having problems with my g4 tr 100 she splutters when hot i have changed coil and plug and lead and still have problem ,my mate thinks its the points ,do u think this is possible many thanks
HI KEVIN,ME AGAIN.YOU WERE RIGHT ABOUT THE POINTS ADJUSTMENT,MINE WAS SET UP A LITTLE TIGHT SO I MADE IT JUST RIGHT AND NOW THE BOGGING IS GONE ITS STARTS IN ONE KICK NOW BUT THE PROBLEM NOW IS WHEN I PUT IT IN FIRST GEAR ITS SHUT OFF EVERYTIME.WHAT SHOULD I CHECK NEXT WITH THIS PROBLEM> THANK YOU AGAIN.....
@@2strokeguru so, just a quick follow up, meant to post this... i thought it was running rich and bogging out... in actuality it was running lean and starving for fuel. I opened the main up, and it runs like new. Crazy counterintuitive but it runs great now.
Hey Kevin I replaced my condenser on my km100 and the original wires had come un soddered, do you have a video on how to make sure I got it right ? There were 2 black wires and the blue one, do you connect them all to the post on the end of the condenser ?
Kevin Bergeron thank you very much, I’ve been pulling. My hair out trying to get spark, I made the mistake you mentioned and bought the coil for the electronic ignition.. so I’m going to order the correct one ( hopefully get the correct one this time) and make sure the wires are good and set the timing on the new points and my kid should be ready to ride 🙏
HI KEVIN,SO I DO HAVE THE RIGHT NEW SPARK PLUG (B8ES) THAT I HAVE ORDERED ON EBAY,SO U DONT THINK MY TIMING IS OFF THEN?WHAT SHOULD I CHECK NEXT?THANK YOU....
good day man, can i have the parts that can be used as replacement for magneto, flywheel and block i have hdx100 which is an asian variant of ke100, building stuff like this excites me i hope you can help me thanks
HI,KEVIN ITS ME AND MY 79 KE100 AGAIN SO I DID OPENED AND CLEAN OUT THE CARBURATOR AND THE PILOT JET WAS GOOD AND CLEAR SO I PUT IT BACK AGAIN AND TRY TO START IT BUT THIS TIME ITS STARTS WITH THE 3RD KICK WITH STARTING FLUID AND WITH THE CHOKE ON BUT IT BOGGS AND DIE RIGHT AWAY.DOES IT LOOK LIKE TIMING IS OFF? OR WHAT ELSE COULD IT BE THE PROBLEM.THANK YOU KEVIN........
romulo parrilla replace the plug if it still does it let me know remember spark plug with the blue letters and or have letter R in the number after the first letter is junk
when the flywheel and crankcase mark lines up correcly, its like i have to go half an inch further for the gap to be fully open... should i try to do the points with the highest spot anyways? I feel its like a shot in the dark
Kevin Bergeron when the timing marks align, the points are close to be at their lowest point... so if i put the 0.14 gap, the points dont ever make contact... does it mean im 180° off?
One of the best explanations of 2 stroke ignition. Thanks so much.
Very welcome
Kevin sos lo mejor que he visto explicando e intentando que entendamos los principiantes, gracias!!!

Great video,..
Thank you
Thanks for the video

Thank you for the great videos. Do you have a recommendation for a spark plug for a 76 kv100? All the Best.

I recently got this project, my first, and trying to get it running. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, I’ve learned a lot already.

"go away please I'm doing a video" lol
Kevin, do you have a brand and part number for flywheel puller?
No I just go to Ebay.com and type in ke100 flywheel puller

Tryna figure out if I have a timing problem. I have 170psi compression and spark, but it won’t even run off starter fluid

You can’t check it with a volt meter but I am going to test it with a volt meter for 20mins! Good god man!

Drain the carburetor bowl

Brad Thompson they go together and solder too the condenser makes sure you don't solder to the body of the condenser
Brad Thompson I got my parts from donor bikes

romulo parrilla the only timing is point gap
romulo parrilla can you see through the pilot jet
so if i run a 12thousanths gap im advancing my timing?
It doesn't advance or retard the timing it changes the dwell dwell is the time the gap stays open
To advance or retard the timing you have to rotate the points plate forward or backwards

Once the 2 screws are undone should it just come off because mine will not
