I wish I saw this three years ago. I purchased a new/used stator assy for a KE100. The exciting coil wasn't working on the bike I bought. I considered winding a coil but discarded the body. A couple of years back I purchased a new old stock coil (21049-1004). Just can't seem to get a proper resistance reading on the coil.
You bet! Glad it helped you. Just remember that varnish covered/insulated wire WILL NOT solder or conduct to your tester until you sand off the coating. You have to do that on the tips of the wire as you are finding the correct resistance and when you go to solder the ends to the termination connections. I think that might trip some people up as my vid was explanation and no real hands on show and tell.
I'm sure they can be. However, I have not done it. Get a pair of calipers and measure the diameter of the wire then get online and find out what gauge matches your diameter then order new wire.
His solution fixed my bike 🎉
Thanks for your video Paul I have one with no spark also gave me hope and getting it going

Thank you for this! So glad to find a video that explains the theory and function of how it works. I'm going to give this a try now!

thx for the vid
Hey Paul thanks so much! Can the other coils be rewound as well? Do you know what Guage wire they take?

Did you make the insulators on the ends? I see they are Grey not red.. curious if you made them what material you used? Mine are broken.
Couldnt you just put a resistor in there? Lol
Ha! now that's thinking outside the box!!! Good one...
