I just checked this site out. It seems they offer many kits for free to Americans. Listed as $0.00 per kit. I am filling my cart now. I am really liking this Company.
Extraordinary kit, comprehensive instructions, the metalwork and sails, everything about it says quality. And you have to love their Optimist dinghy kit 😺. Thanks for the unboxing as it does help show why some kits cost more than others - they are worth it!
Yes, 3-D parts here are designed to facilitate construction but I think to choose a difficult option. I will glue wooden laser-cut parts, because I like to use the original material)))
Nice to see how detailed the model can be with plenty of advances to make life a little easier. Not having to individually plank the deck or at least mark it for example, big sheet of photo etch, and resin printing with pre-stitched sails, wow. Was surprised to see what looks like plated styrene as well for the anchors. Truly a great multimedia kit in a golden age of model making. Have fun, look forward to watching the build.
A very excellent kit certainly at the top of the scale for wooden models, presented as only the gifted Olha can do. Your presentation is a joy in itself but I miss your adorable vocal presentation, you are a treasure to scale model art.

Hello Olha, I am curious about your overall thoughts on this kit? A couple observations I saw from your Video that caught my attention-Considering this kit is over $600 plus $ Shipping cost, I thought the wooden Blocks were/are the cheap Walnut variety- very poor quality? The Belaying Pins also looked out of scale? What are you thoughts about the Copper Plates being photo-Etched & having to file off all those contacting tabs? The Rigging Cordage appears to be of poor quality? What are you thoughts on the pre-sewn sails, they appear to be marked out on one side only? The threaded Eyelets seem very thick & out of scale? There are a lot of positive aspects of the kit as well--Abundance of Laser cut wood items, lots of individual fittings and the Plans & Instructions look Great!!! I am not trying to belittle the manufacture by no means but I noticed the above mentioned items and as a very long time builder myself, I was curious & value your opinion!!!!!
Hello I do not know what will be the price of this kit, as the manufacturer is still experimenting with the manufacture of copper plates. In the video, I showed a sample in which the nails are very high. Therefore, it is not yet on sale... In general, I can say that this kit is a good start for your creativity. Even the choice to glue laser-cut wooden parts or simply paint 3D printed ones will make it easier for many modelers. As for my own opinion, I will change everything you have listed. I do this with all kits from different manufacturers. I always sew sails, make ropes and change blocks... This is a weakness of many manufacturers, so my priority is the rest of the materials, and they are in this box - perfect!

Beautiful kit! I wonder how it compares to the Vanguard kit? This certainly looks very impressive! It looks like MarisStella are also going to have an “HMS Sophie” for us Aubrey-Maturin fans. 😄
I haven't seen Vanguard Models up close. Modelers say they are known for using quality wood and quality fittings. MarisStella made this kit on a larger scale 1:48 - my favorite))
@@OlhaBatchvarov My Alert, (which I've changed to a privateer haha), is a Vanguard kit. It is a very good kit. One thing is a little odd is that the belaying pins and eyebolts are PE so they're only 2 dimensional. I've been making my own eyebolts and bought brass belaying pins.
Looks very detailed. The instruction manual is terrific. I’ll be curious what your perspective is. Hard to tell in this video but a couple things look out of scale. I’m dying to get back to work on mine. I look forward to seeing your progress on this one. Thanks for the videos Olha.
At first glance - the set is great! But I already have a list that I will change. At a minimum, it is sewing sails, making ropes and replacing blocks. I do this with almost all kits from different manufacturers. So I will see in the buildion process how it will be...
Olha, may I ask what happens to all the models you build when they are finished? Surely they go to museums. And in this kit, did I see correctly? Are the sails pre sewn? This kit looks fantastic.
That is one of the best kits I have seen. As I watched I wondered if you'll use the kit supplied rigging line or replace it with your own? The lines you make are superior even to a kit of this caliber. I'm looking forward to the building of this kit.
@olhabatchvarov, I noticed some of the holes in some blocks didn’t quite line up. What do you do in that case? Can you just carve your own to scale and simply replace the “wonky” parts? Or does one just accept that some things just won’t line up quite right?
@@OlhaBatchvarov so you just replace en masse? what kind of investment is that? What did, or will, it cost for this ship, since we can see the scale and see roughly how many parts need replacing.

All kits can be for beginners, if you are in no hurry to "sculpt" all the details into a pile and generously fill with glue... Since not always those small models are easy to build, which manufacturers position for beginners. Guided by only a small number of parts. I tried them after big ships (like VICTORY) and now I understand why we lose half of the potential modelers after these "beginner kits". The HMS SPEEDY kit looks great but has a lot of laser cut parts, so you don't have to make them from rails. Also very detailed instructions... So if you want to build a truly historically correct model, spending 3+ years - you can handle it...
@@OlhaBatchvarov thank you for your reply. I believe the "SPEEDY" is the kit for me. I'm a retired carpenter with plenty of time to complete the project. I'm comfortable knowing I'll have your videos to guide me. Thank You and God bless Ukraine!
