Superb models and presentation. I've been an avid car/truck modeler since the '70s and recently got into scratchbuilding boats and ships from various media, though I'm doing mostly motor vessels, not sure I have the patience for all that rigging lol. My current project, as I type this, is a 1/24 scale 35' work boat made with craft sticks and basswood strips, and designed completely by my imagination and have a few other ideas for future builds. I look forward to seeing more of your videos and builds, I'm certain that I'll draw inspiration from them too.
I have many questions. So many that there is no sense to write them here in the comments, maybe SoS will be the better place :)

That's lot of work!... Tying every knot on a ship requires a lot of patience! I would use a ruler to show the scale of my models. But I don't remember to have ever done it though... 13:50 I haven't imagined your cat to be so big!... 🙂
Olha, thank you so much for sharing your beautiful photos and models with us these past years. You, my dear lady, are a very gifted Master of Ships. These ships are a testament to the many hours and days you have put into this love of sailing vessels. It's more than a hobby. It's a passion for the ships of yesteryear. Thank you again. God bless Ukraine 🇺🇦.
Very Happy Birthday to you, You are a true Artist. Beautiful, and your ships are unbelievable. Glad you can do something you enjoy, it shows. Thank you for sharing.

Lovely video. I know your recent builds but as we go back in time (pre States?) I don't know which are kit or scratch. But I note that as far back as 2014 you have sourced good quality blocks and very nice rigging line. Ukraine is far more supportive and serious about scale ship building, with better parts available. I don't think there is a single outlet in the UK for quality fittings, we have to buy overseas, at considerable extra cost! The kit blocks here are for the cat's litter tray!! I'm in Portsmouth, home of Victory and The Warrior. You'd think there would be a lot of ship modellers. No, they're mostly railway modellers??? There is a group who do a Trafalgar display on the boating lake every year but they're far from accurate builds, very square shaped hulls etc. Fun though. As a scale builder going for accurate historic ships, I think I might be the only one!?
Thank you very much! Simply because in Ukraine it is a sport. 36 European countries are members of the international shipmodeling organization NAVIGA. And indeed there are modelers who make various parts for mass sale, such as blocks, ropes, brass castings (cannons, bolts with nuts, hooks...). All that you will not find from official manufacturers!
@@OlhaBatchvarov i am making some plates from paper and then combine them together, now i use triangular box as tablet pc holder. do you use to draw at first what to make, or make it on the flow?
Beautiful models Olha.....you are a very talented lady. Watching how you work your way through each intricate step on each ship is fascinating and very calming. I have three Viking ships, the Model shipways 'Prince De Neufchatel' Privateer and the Phantom pilot boat to build.....eventually !. Keep up the good work.

You are so welcome! I have a problem with high humidity in the summer, so Confederacy will be hermetically packed in polyethylene until the heating season begins... I will build those models that will be painted or with clinker planking, or already have all the planks... If I do the planking on the Confederacy now - in the winter I will get big gaps between the planks, and besides, the model has a very long hull - I don't want the humidity to bend it...
An amazing presentation of your work. The photography is fantastic.....and yes having you in the picture is the best way to gauge size. I so often see models of various types online and it is so hard to work out its size even when the scale is mentioned. Thank you for showing us your work. Have you ever done a video on model photography?
Thank you so much! I have some videos about model photography, such as: How to make your photos on a black background LOOK BETTER FAST This is a really big topic, about which I can create a separate channel, because it is not possible to show everything in one video ...)))
I followed most of your ship's construction and I have to say congratulations to you for the nice job! Very detailed work and professional. Farther from that I have some questions for you. Which of those models do you consider that was the easiest and which one was the most difficult? From the point of view, quality (manual instructions, quality of materials, support, etc.) which company you consider the best and last question is when you do the planking you use water for softening the planks or not? Many thanks for the nice time that you give us!
Thank you very much! These are very difficult questions))) It is difficult to determine the manufacturer, because even the same manufacturer can have different quality kits. The most difficult model from my collection is probably the carrack. Because there were a lot of mistakes - one solid mistake to be exact. Starting from the lines of the ship, which are simply unrealistic to plank (only walnut wood and a soldering iron - did a miracle). But the kit has high quality materials. And the complete opposite of another kit that I am currently building from the same manufacturer. Very detailed drawings, historically correct detailing and lots of cheap basswood. I already regretted that I started using it, because I thought that it would be invisible under the paint. But the truth is that it is a very soft wood and it is very easy to damage it... The simplest is probably the cross-section of a galleon. Because it was like working on mistakes after the galleon model! And yes, I use water when planking, and I also steam the wood with a soldering iron or heater (or even boil the planks in some cases) to make them pliable. You can also use a soldering iron to immediately dry the plankp or make the PVA glue curing instantly...
Woow! Really great to see all your models in on presentation! I guess the HMS Victory ist the most complex ship of all! Nevertheless: all of them looks really great! 👍
Thank you for sharing this amazing video. Your channel has inspired my to start my first model. I am really enjoying this new hobby. I hope to someday day be 1/10th as good as you.
Olha, may I kindly ask what type of thread/rope you are using when rigging a boat? I saw in many of the ships that you use a white type of rope. It looks as if it could be more durable than the type I use. I hope you can assist. I admire your work and deemed it to be very professional.
Thank you very much! I use 100% polyester thread to make the ropes. They do not become "hairy" over time and do not react to changes in humidity. I usually use a tan or beige color for the light ropes of the runing rigging...
Thank you! But the birthday of the channel was March 15))) I mistakenly did not correct the TITLE of the video - it is about Why I take pictures with my models...

Acthually these are seasonal reasons! I have very high humidity where I live. Therefore, CONFEDERACY is now packed in plastic bags, until the start of the next heating season. I can't plank this model right now and also because of the long hull it can twist like a propeller... For PEGASUS I need to buy some paint tools - so this ship is also packed away too. Perhaps it is better that I will not unpack it either, since it is not yet covered with oils and finishes, so as not to expose it to the influence of air humidity... Now I have 82% humidity in the workshop (((( For comparison - in winter the air is very dry on average 20%... So I can either stop running the channel completely by the end of October.
