The way they explain each other’s thesis’ so well, proves a good understanding of the subjects. Even though they work in different fields, they took the time to get to know each other’s interests and understand each other so well. That’s love!

Showing your lab is a different sort of love i think. I did my research in quantum chemistry so i wasnt so sure how much my boyfriend, who is a combat engineer in the army, would understand. I remember listening to him explain correctly what i do and why it was important to our friends and family and it made me fall in love with him again. I am always sure to impress his friends with my understanding of the military. Its not like either of us have gone personally out of our way to study the subjects. We just both listened fully whenever the other talks about their day and their stories. Even if its not a romanitc partner i hope everyone finds a partner in life.

If you are somewhat intelligent and put enough objective scientific thought into any subject matter, you're going to get valuable insights on it. The same way studying materials and how they behave under stress can help you make predictions with absolute certainty on the breaking point of a tool, studying how populations near borders behave is going to help governments make decisions on policies that could cause social upheaval. Of course all this hinges on scientific rigor being maintained which is a lot harder to enforce in some of the more 'subjective' fields. The same goes for women's studies for that matter. It just becomes useless when research begins on a foundation that cannot be nullified for 'political' reasons.
