What hurts is that Arisu really went to go kill himself ( look for them ) also Arisu’s actor, THE SCREAMING? such a good actor. Also funfact Arisu is Alice with Japanese pronunciation.

Arisu didnt try to kill himself, he wanted someone else to live and someone else was going to kill them. Please logically evaluate the situation, nobody is suiciding in this episode.

The writer of this show said that there was a solution in this game where everyone could have survived but they never said what it was. To this day, I'm so curious as to what that was. I heard some people say that they could have use reflection somehow
Exactly, that was my first thought. The nature of these games are meant to be cruel and ironic. My first thought was reflection too but I actually enjoy the fact that viewers get to develop their theories revolving these games.

I wonder if they had to be somewhere dark enough for something to show off the headset they wore. Because it informed them to hide where the wolf couldn't find you. Maybe there was a room dark enough for something that was never revealed. Cause they panicked before being able to observe what they wore.
I'm calling bs until he reveals how to actually beat it. Because I read some theories and all of them have holes in it, including the mirror one.
based on his twitter response to a fan, he didn’t actually say that there’s a solution, but he’ll just leave it up to the viewers’ imagination.
Basically the point of the game is only the wolf survives and you need to make eye contact with the wolf to become the wolf. I have a theory that if they all did hide from the wolf and remained quiet, everyone would have won. The rules told the sheep to hide despite it being contradictory, so perhaps since it was a hearts game it was testing to see if they would go against their survival instincts and sacrifice themselves for someone else. But since karube was found at the end it didn’t work. But this is just speculation. The creator has confirmed that there is a way they could have won this game without any casualties, but has never actually said what the solution is
That would be the only solution I can think of that would be the answer, and it's something that would work well within the rules of the game. Kind of like how the twist at the end of SAW 2 was if the detective just listened to what Jigsaw said. Since it's a game of hearts, and it plays to the hearts, if they just did that from the get go and stayed well hidden, then maybe that would have been the out they were all looking for and that this game could have spared them.
That was already impossible once Chota gave the wolf away
In the manga he didn't even find them. They stay hidden till the end of the game.. they beat the game by choosing arisu to live.. its such a shock reading and watching this..

The most likely way to win is having a sheep cut the connection between the headset and collar of the wolf since it's not wireless it would work most likely. Then pass the wolf forward and they repeat it.

Games in this show are meant to be cruelly ironic, meaning there's always a way to win without having anyone die. So there was a chance but nobody figured it out so my boys had to get clapped :v
They also got incredibly unlucky because this game is the hardest one in the show to survive.

I strongly believe that if the girl wasn't there to disrupt, the 3 friends would have found a solution to this game for them all to survive, there always seem to be a clever way to outsmart these games.

yup. author of the story does tell that there a way to beat every game. there is answer to everything but the initial chaos does by the girl cos the team to went into disarray.
Not in Hearts games. Also, it was revealed Mira made this game specifically for them. They were never intended to beat the game alive.

the shock/ silence when everyone’s collar blew up. I remember when I watched this episode for the first time, I bawled my eyes out. I didn’t even realize how attached I was gonna be towards her as well as that they’d show my mans head get popped!! Usually they don’t kill main characters in the first few episodes but I guess this was kind of our hint that they aren’t main characters hence why we get introduced to new characters in the tag game? anyways I’ve been enjoying y’all’s reactions lmao the commentary is hilarious
Thisss!! Exactly my experience. I went into AIB with low expectations cuz everybody was jacking about it having less character focus than Squid Game and was basically only about the games. I was SO SHOCKED when they just died. I didn't understand it and when Arisu started screaming in agony I just broke down. I also hadn't realized how attached I'd gotten to Chota and Karube. I also read the manga right after finishing s1 and this game hits even harder after that.
The best part of this episode is the discussion afterwards. Hearts is a mental f game and there’s different answers

Well here's the solution I found interesting: there were tools 🔧 on that table which the lambs could have tried to remove the headgear, nowhere in the rules it said you can't remove it.

That's true but the risk is 100% too high. In retrospect heart games usually are about taking risks to prove your will to live but I wouldn't have had the guts either. ESPECIALLY after seeing the collars explode in the tag game. Like imagine they working together to take a collar off and BOOM dead. The survivors guilt would be even worse.

What's annoying to me is that arisu and his best friend( because we all know he was probably closer to the taller blonde dude than the other guy) didn't even have to play this game. they could have skipped it and not gone to the arena.. they just got out of a game with 5day visas. their visa's still had days left. That chick and the friend with the burnt leg were the only ones that should have gone to play.. they were the ones whose 3 day visas were expiring that night
They probably went because they thought it would be a game where numbers could help .. like team work. probably didn't think they would be hit with a hearts card that soon
I'm not gonna spoiler nothing but "somebody" specifically created the game for them and they were delighted about their friendship so they could make this even more devastating. That makes it even worse bc Arisu was prob thinking "what if we didn't go" etc. but this game was literally MADE for them. Absolutely cruel.
I’m crying again, this episode is just too heartbreaking. When at the end his friends gave up for Arisu to live and Arisu searched for them, giving them the wolf character so to live … both were ready to give themselves up for their friends 😭 and that ending screaming of Arisu 💔
As we already know, Shibuki came before the trio, and she had played one game before the Dead or Alive game on eps 1, the game she played was a heart game too, so she already knew what a heart game does to people
The worst part is, the real solution to this game MIGHT be taking the collars off with the tools. In her game you literally had to take the risk of dying to survive. But she only survived that one because she gave up so it makes sense that she'd never risk anything like that again.
I think this is worse than the episode of Squid Games you wanted to compare it to because here the boys were basically family to each other

Ngl, if the headset turned out to be VR, that would've been an amazing twist. And it being a hearts game was to show who your true friends were etc. A life lesson game, but one where nobody actually dies would've been intense but we still would've had the main characters to develop more before they are killed.
I'd argue that everything being fake would take the stakes away.
It was a game of hearts. Its either to betray or to be betrayed. Since the hearts game was already engraved to them as a betrayal game, include the scene where they saw how those collars works, they can't think straight anymore since messing up with the collar might means death. They had no choice but to go with the very rational way of betraying each other in order to live. The funny thing is that during the first half, they were very aggressive in fighting for the wolf title but after that first half, after being reminded what they went through their friendship, the sheep decided to just hide and let one of them live with flying colors. The wolf ( Arisu ), realized that someone is more deserving to live other than him that's why he decided the seek for the best sheep to live. But in the end, sad, but I really was shocked that they killed 3 main characters in 3rd episode. BTW, I already know the ending and the entire concept of borderlands so I will not spoil you guys.

It's just something I wouldn't have wanted to know this early in the show. But I think I like to keep comments just limited to things happening up til this episode without mentioning what could be discovered later on.

Basically the girl only knew about the games was because she was in there before the guys just like the other contestants. And she was sleeping with her boss to get a better position
One theory I heard was an all 4 players looked at a mirror. All three sheep look in eyes of the wolf at the same time which means that at the least three wolves would play. Maybe all four could become the wolves and then all players close their eyes for the remainder of the game.
Well if you want to compare it to the Squid Game, try to think if one of your closest friend and a neighbour who just moved next to you a day before died at the same time..you will probably know how evenly match the comparison is..xD

You get no hints until the game starts. Keep watching, I will say this show is rougher than squid. In the manga I heard Arisu hears their explosion and doesn’t see it.
I too at first thought shibuki was insider or someone who has inside info about games. But girl was just arrived earlier than arisu and boys
Yeah, she just knew how some games were and had more knowledge of the things. Similar to some of the people in the last episode. We're just watching from the POV of Arisu and his bros so we're still in the dark about what's going on.

People don't know what it's like to feel real pain watching something if they've never watched Alice in Borderland
This episode hurt me and my mom bad man when we first seen it we seriously just sat on the sofa jaws dropped and all in deep thought for about 10-15 minutes then I proceeded to roll on the ground saying no over and over I think what made this hit more was in my mind I was thinking like "nahhh him and his boys are main characters no way their gonna die in this episode" but the show said "SIKE"
The real question is, there is 3 of them and there's 3 of you guys....which one of you are going to be the wolf and the other 2, sheep? Or, which one of you are going to sacrifice themselves in the name of friendship since you three look like real hommies?

One theory says, that the neck explosive was never armed in the first place. It is only activated by looking at the wolf. Betrayal activates the explosive, and self sacrifice from the start guarantees your safety.
I think the cut away, to the AI stuff, was just to show that that girl was sleeping her way up in the company. She slept with her boss and then he recommended her for a higher position

I think if they had all hid from the wolf they would have survived. Remember towards the end, the instructions kept saying, "Do not let the wolf find you" or "hide well lamb". Notice how Karibu is the only one we saw getting killed... because the wolf found him... but as for Chota & Shibuki....

It depends because some got attached including me in the first to second episode. Other didn’t. I wouldn’t say it pure shock values it just proves that no matter who you are, you can die in the games. The friends sacrificed themselves for Arisu and to live on for them.

Yall nothing changed in the rules thats the game. They manipulated the games so that group specifically would play the "Hearts" game because there friends. The reason the sheep are supposed to hide is cause the friends choose the wolf( who survives). They all put friendship first at the last minute so they hid themselves. The chick was about to die is what she realized hahahahah

Solution to the game was the water in the garden. If they all looked in the reflections at the same time, they could've all become the wolf.
That's impossible. The reflection isn't going to reflect to more than one person making eye contact.

It only works on eye contact, and if it worked on reflections, it would just transfer the wolf to the sheep or NOBODY would have the wolf.

You guys have the hearts game all wrong. The wolf is meant to go around and kill the people. This is because the tools are not there for you to kill each other but instead to torture the wolf. If you kill the wolf all the sheep will lose as he can no longer transfer his status to someone else as you need eye contact and one can argue that when your dead that won't really be possible as the person won't consciously make eye contact with a target. There is no way he can go about keeping his eyes closed forever in the hopes of survival so he has to hunt. The sheep do have to hide as the wolf would be coming to kill the sheep so they don't torture his status out of him. This is also relevant as if the wolf sustains too much damage there is no point in him surviving because the likelihood of him surviving the rest of the games will be reduced significantly. So in order to go out of this game unscathed and as the wolf, you need to hunt and kill the others. The only way the sheep can win is to either make a way for the wolf to look them in the eyes consciously or come together to torture the wolf so he has to open his eyes and give it to someone.
nah what hurts more is that Karube basically killed everybody because he revealed his location to the wolf
