Good video as always, Wei Koh is a legend. Per earlier comments, while he may be reading some lines, I don’t think that’s a big deal as no one could ever remember all the details he shared with us, which is amazing to be honest research-wise.
I love that this watch is as thin as a 2€ coin, but I would get the feeling that I might break the watch just by holding it :D Still, I think that this is a step forward for Piaget to get back their releases into the spotlight, maybe even produce thinner watches than anyone else as their trademark sign.
Very distracting that he doesn’t look at the camera and is so obviously reading his “lines”. Still, I’ve been wanting to see an in-depth review of the Altiplano Ultimate for a while now.
Did anyone else notice that in several close-ups the screws are not sitting level nor were they centered? For $435,000? I love this watch but I'm a noob. I wonder what veteran watchmakers think of the Piaget Altiplano Ultimate Concept? I know, let's ask Philippe Dufour...
Ok, a lengthy text with a lot of references and facts. Fine. However, reading from a script in front of the camera makes this presentation very “impersonal” and after a while very irritating. Also, the speed is just a tiny fraction too fast. As a listener you WANT to hear the text as from a storyteller. The overall fact transfer, from you as the reader, to me as a listener, should gain a lot with a slightly slower tempo. One more thing consuming attention is the many references and explicit details but NOT shown. The winding tool? The flashing of the watch in front of camera without any emotional attachment (since the script is still being read!), well, no. Make the narration as just a voice, take your time and if speaking in front of the camera, speak from the heart not the script. Otherwise, the amount of references and the “story” itself was fine!
