Disassembly a Alienware 17 for clean up, do this once a year
Einen Alienware 17 auseinander nehme um ihn zu reinigen, machen sie dies einmal im Jahr.
Sorry but the two Upper screws on the botton plate are out of sight.

Thank you for this video. I was in need of a little info on how to remove cpu fan & heatsink. As mine were both tapped together i was having difficulties removing them as one piece. Your video showed me that it's actually two separate parts. I just need to cut the electrical tape holding them together. I believe I need to reapply new thermal paste as my PC is constantly "Locking" & shutting down due to possible overheating. Also, my Alienware 17x R1 was Deployed September 16, 2013 just 9 days before yours! Thanks Again!

why are you putting new thermal paste on top of the old one?
don't spread a thermal compound around the gpu the contact between heat sink and gpu will be uneven , just spread the line of thermal paste on gpu and screw the heat sink back it will spread evenly.

I don't quied Understand u, i replaced the Thermal Paste with a cloth and put the New one on it.
That Action worked so fare, what Shoud i improve?

+pduesp i believe he means just dont spread the thermal paste with any object, so just put it straight and screw the heat sink back it will spread alone. One thing i do its clean all the old thermal paste but thats my way of doing it

I use isopropyl alcohol, never used benzine, by the way what thermal paste did you use? I got an Alienware 15 but dont know whats the best thermal for Alienware's

Do I need to take out battery and ram just for cleaning fans alone ?

It is a Little bit differend to disassemble a Alienware 15.
i am not owning a Alienware 15 because of that i cant make a disassemble Video about it.
