      we are a democratic culture, when we think of politics we think of democracy. to politicise the railways is to make the decision making of the railways more democratic, thats exactly what it would mean

    • @aldoushuxley5953
      @aldoushuxley5953 3 года назад +4

      He is talking about US and western politics, which are indeed democracies.
      If you are pointing out, that in truth, because people are not free, but influenced by the media, corporate interests, universities etc in their decision, and we thus do not "really" live in a democracy, then you guys agree.
      I recommend "open letter to open minded progressives" to you. It is a good book

    This dude has kind of a spooky “dark side” aura around him. Sorta like an evil genius. Unwarranted. Democracy and Politics are the same word? There was court politics in Plantagenet England. Jesus. Think.

    • @shaunenwright7872
      @shaunenwright7872 2 года назад +9

      All democracy is politics but not all politics is democracy. The point however is that in our society they are synonyms, and because he’s very clearly talking about our societal attitudes to different terms you come off as dense.

    • @RastaganTheGreen
      @RastaganTheGreen 2 года назад +2

      He does have that aura and I love it. Most people have a boring cookie cutter take and with Yarvin it always feels new and interesting, and I find you cant really do that without daring to set foot in radical or morally subversive territory.

    Clown show. Can't even create his own metaphors. "Red Pill" is a metaphor for "Trans". I would recommend Keto, a stylist and a speech therapist to Mr. Yarvin.
    Plato answered these questions millennia ago. AND Plato wasn't a mindless monkey engineer. John Adams was referring to direct (Athenian) democracy. BTW - the system of government created by Solon which did not destroy Athens, but saved it from a long list of psychopathic tyrants and oligarchs (see Peter Thiel) and made it the most powerful empire in the region (Delian League) and the most influential culture in human history. This clown is purposefully conflating definitions in order to confuse the unthinking audience.
    Educate yourselves. Start with Victor Davis Hansen, the battle of Marathon and why democracies are vicious fighters (and don't throw Sparta at me. Can you list one Spartan contribution to human history other than infanticide and torturing slaves?)
    If Democracy sucks, why did the US win WW2 and become the most innovative, wealthy, powerful country in human history. Compare it to North Korea. Or Saudi Arabia. Or Russia.
    Mr. Yarvin simply doesn't want to pay taxes and he is really, really, really pissed about it.

      The Soviet Union won WWII.

    • @giordanobruno2509
      @giordanobruno2509 Год назад

      @@joshwalden7216 Germany would've won a single front war - it was the combination of both fronts (see Dresden and allied carpet bombing) that brought about the 4-year demise of the 1000-year reich. Hitler lost WWII because he was an incompetent ideologue who believed his own dogs**t. And Stalin just raped his way to Berlin first because he was closer geographically. Ask yourself why the USSR collapsed in the late 80s?

    • @SosKok
      @SosKok Год назад

      If Bolshevism sucks, why did Stalin win WW2? Stalin won because he enslaved millions of people into soldiers and built many weapons. The fact that somebody win the war is demonstration that this somebody is amoral maniac who is able to enslave and mass murder people.
      US didn't became prosperous after and because. It was prosperous before. Unlike Country of Bolsheviks wich every momen in its history was a poor tyranny.
      Fact that US and allies had institutions to enslave and had modern weapons to mass murder only means that there something wrong in construction of its political system. Normal people do not morally ready to kill an enslave people unless they are maniacs.

    • @marduk6836

      US achieved so much because of the people living in it. And also it's superior people who create superior political institutions.

  • @Markd315

    Uh this is stupid. People use the negative connotation of "politics" to denote a frustrating power struggle.
    In a democracy there might be camapaigning or disagreement, but there is no struggle for power because it is already shared among all.

    • @Markd315
      @Markd315 3 года назад +1

      Yes democracy is mob rule which is good. If you don't like the outcome, vote to invest in better public education

    • @Markd315

      Oh no lol! Athens collapsed due to democracy? Well then I guess every empire that collapsed did so because of imperialism, and the Soviet Union collapsed because of communism.
      That's a stupid game to play, countries fail all the time for myriad reasons.

    • @Markd315
      @Markd315 3 года назад +1

      Another pretty obvious factual error at the end, democratic power largely opposed the dissolution of the Soviet Union, 78% opposed that with large majorities in almost all regions. Yeltsin did it in an antidemocratic fashion following those referendum votes.

    • @Markd315
      @Markd315 3 года назад +1
