    What a great looking Tender 👍👍

    Good buy, great little tender, I've had one of these for 6 years with an 8hp on it, propped it down slightly to a 7"pitch & planes with 2 x adults + 2 x kids. Also changed 10lt fuel tank and keep it upfront, keeps the floor clear & weight distbn better

    • @slightadrift
      @slightadrift  4 месяца назад

      Yeah right. Had that brought down your max speed much?

    • @damianhendren7504
      @damianhendren7504 4 месяца назад

      Down a bit when unloaded with just one person onboard but not as noticeable as I thought it would be. Engine able to rev a bit higher now when medium load onboard so top speed about the same as with the original prop. Picks up better now when heavily loaded and holds the plane when previously wouldn't. You've got a bigger motor so prob don't need to drop all the way to a 7"pitch. Hopefully you can find somewhere that will let you demo a prop or two. @@slightadrift

    Try locating the fuel tank up forward to displace even weight.

    Props to our cousins across the ‘dutch’ for putting together a very decent piece of kit!

    Pro Tip: When you identify your dinghy/tender with your vessel's name on it, you let all the evildoers know you are NOT ON YOUR VESSEL!!!!!

    Love it? Where do you live? Asking because how much it cost to transport the tender from New Zealand to your place?

    • @slightadrift
      @slightadrift  5 месяцев назад

      It cost 13 or 14k total shipped and taxes to Brisbane. And I picked it up from the port

      @@slightadriftI'd like to get a 350 carbon like the one that ROAM has. They have a 20 hp on theirs which the transom was built extra strong to handle it but it cost something like 20k usd to get. I'm going to have to build my own because that's a lot of money to spend on a small boat.

    • @slightadrift
      @slightadrift  4 месяца назад

      Can you save a few $$ and not get the carbon version?

    • @robertlaird6746
      @robertlaird6746 4 месяца назад

      @@slightadriftThat's true but I could probably build something similar for $2,000 in materials plus my time. I guess I'll see once I finish building my boat because time is money as well.

    Aluminium is far easier to repair, plus it doesn't damage as easily. You can temporarily patch with glue and a sheet of alloy, or rivet it on for more permanent. I would never choose fibreglass, it should be banned. You should read about how much pollution fibreglass boats and the wind turbine blades you passed create. Thanks for the video though.

    • @slightadrift
      @slightadrift  8 месяцев назад

      I’m not able to fix aluminium… main reason I didn’t choose it. I hear you on the pollution. Hopefully with some good upkeep this boat will be off the scrap yard a very long time. I also think fibreglass that can be recycled will eventually become the norm hopefully sooner rather than later. Cheers for your comment! 🍺
