Unpopular opinion: while I do dislike the Party Car aspect of the game, I do enjoy Airship Central from MP10. Monty Mole is pretty weak, but Kamek’s boss battle was like an easy Cuphead boss and I find it really fun.
The GameCube games were peak Mario Party imo (with an honorable mention to MP2 of course). So many fun games and boards in there, with 5 and 7 being my personal favorites.
Mario Party 8 and 9 had some of my favourites personally, especially the latter. Tbh, everything in that game was just great. I especially adore Peak Precision and Pit or Platter
Yes that's a great one and I'm good at it. The two mini games that sucked in Super were the 3 vs 1 quiz game (goes for too long) and 4 player guessing game of the vibrations. Hate those two
I think Shock Drop and Roll is super favored in the 3's. You just have to spam jump and you quite literally can never fall off the thing in the first place.
When I was younger I used to play toad and go seek on Mario party 9 with my younger sister all of the time. It’s really fun and unique, the only issue being that I played it so much that I memorized all of the house locations lmao
Facelift in both 1 & 2 were always my favorite! Unfortunately in the 2nd one it is not a traditional mini-game, it’s a battle game. Where all players have to wager a randomly selected amount making the stakes much higher. And it’s a 1st-4th placement, where the first 3 split the winnings (more coins for 1st place and so on). But, you only land on these spaces occasionally (maybe 1-2x a game if at all) And with 8 battles games you have a small percentage of actually landing on face lift. So that always bummed me out.
Mario Party 5 was released in 2003 for the gamecube, and not much changed at all from the previous entries. you kidding me? It changed the item system and board mechanics that the future entries would follow up until 8!
This was an interesting look back at a series I've been meaning to give another look. You did a good job of explaining why you picked the minigames you did and they all sound like great fun. I only have one minor complaint: you said you would cover 15 installments, but I only counted 14...what minigames would you select from Mario Party: Star Rush?
Pretty much all the battle mini games in three are badass. I love locked out and stacked deck. Also, the game guys lucky 7 mini game was epic. Best Mario party in my opinion.
My favourite minigame is from Super Mario Party... the one where you have to photobomb each other, because the one who is most clearly shown in the photo gets the most points. It is hilarious, especially when you play it with three other players and the best thing is, we get to see our photo bombs after each round! I love that minigame ^^
Mario Party 9 has one of the best collection of mini-games in the series. I hate how ppl bash the game just bc of the car mode. Dude, MP9 has one of the best mini-games modes ever! + 7 different boards.

fast food frenzy, camera shy and dust buddies was amazing. they're up there on my favourites. all geared up was my personal favourite, but camera shy, raft riot, fast food frenzy, hanger management, hexoskeleton, soap surfers, raft riot, cube crushers, dust buddies and Peak a boo were peak. and if you cant tell, i always played singleplayer. so valid opinion.
In MP4, Three Throw is only amazing if you’re player 4 because you have a significant advantage versus the 2nd and 3rd player. I would’ve replaced that with something like Dungeon Duos. That one is straight 🔥

I haven't played Mario Party 8 yet but there is this minigame where each player cuts a rope and they are either safe or the spring under them flings them out! Similar to Bowser's Big Blast!

One time I was playing Mario Party 8 with my family, and we ended up playing flip the chimp. We spent like 10 minutes trying to have one of us get to the top.
I have not watched yet but my favorite minigames in island tour is squish you were here. And my favorite in DS is dust buddies. Also why no star rush or the other hand held one besides the top100
i know due to the corona its hard to play mario party lately so i encourage everyone to go ahead and try Mario Party netplay, or play the game through parsec online with friends, very fun experience

Lol the mini game Shock Absorbers off of Mario Party 7 you have to start off slow lol then you start to go fast up left right (when the right and left lights glow you hit it when the up light glows you use your head). then it reverses and sometimes it tricks you and cheats then when the shocker alarm goes off you have to duck and lol once you get shocked you’re disqualified it’s an 8 player mini game man lol mostly everyone gets disqualified. 😂😂😂
If you like the dumb luck mini-games, day at the races is better than Bowser's big blast. The first ends. The other can go on for a long, long time. Nothing is more annoying than getting knocked out early and watching the thing go on and on and on. as when there is one plunger remaining, the other four pop up again. Mario party ranks low in graphics, sound and gameplay, but the worst thing about it, is that it brought that hideous big blast game back.

It's the perfect Mario Party minigame. It will never be topped in terms of competitiveness, comedy, and potential for great moments

Clearly Pink Boos must be destroyed, kind of like how Pink Bob-Ombs and regular Bob-Ombs don't always get along.
In Mario Party 6, you can also herd Pink Boos as Boo in Boonanza.
