Running into red line and hitting the fuel cut-off did no damage to this car whatsoever. You could do this to any car. I have done it more times than I can count. If you're trying to drive fast, this is exactly how it's done, especially on a high-revving engine like this one.
I bought a JDM H22a that had 75k miles, I put it in a 93 Prelude. Everyday, for 5 years, I revved that car to 8000 rpm. That is way higher than the redline, and guess what! I put another 130,000 miles on that engine, driving like an ass before some old lady crashed into me and I let the insurance keep it. So nothing bad ever happened to my overrevving H22, and the K20z3 is a way better engine and under the stock rev limit.
@betterdropdatdonk Think of it as trying to pedal a bike to fast. At some point your legs will not be able to keep up with the speed an your feet will slip off the pedals. Your engine is similar except that when it "gives up" it will be a lot more messy and costly..
That's kinda sad considering my twenty year old Mk3 Jetta does it in 6.9, when new it supposedly only did it in 7.... Which was quick, twenty years ago.... Still.... Get your shifting down, hondata tune, you'll do it in 6.3

Nice run man, thats why the civic gets so much crap that 0-60 is in 7s, thats because alot of time it taken away for the 3rd gear shift which doesnt really matter cause you are at 57mph then.

Unfortunately my mom has one of these stupid pieces of shit. It has the absolute worst transmission I have ever had the displeasure of vaguely finding gears in. and its no fucking wonder, the clutch is the smallest skimpy piece of fucking shit I have ever seen! It makes this horrid hissing noise anywhere above 4 grand, which I assume is whats left of the clutch grinding away at the flywheel. The build quality is horrid. It goes through tires unbelievably quick. I hate it with every fiber of
I like how you obviously did a 0-60 on a downhill as the car is accelerating before u hit the gas and still managed a terrible time lol. Keep trying... on a straight pavement though.
Standard cars move when you have the clutch in and give them even a tiny bit of gas. The clutch disengaged means minimal resistance in the drivetrain and the force and vibrations made by the engine are enough to make the car roll.

if you pull the clutch out a little bit it bites and the car moves forward. then hitting the gas you let off the clutch. every manual I've driven does this.
I'm saying if you are on an incline. On flat ground the car won't move, it's not putting any power to the ground, it's just that there's minimal rolling resistance and unless you have a weedwacker engine in your car, the force exerted just from the engine could get the car to roll a bit of you are on an incline that's not steep enough for the car to just roll on its own. My clutch has less than 1,500 miles on it. I know it's properly adjusted.

Got a 06 lx Coupe with a muff delete n a straight pipe... K&N air filter with the 5 sp auto.. This R18 is one hell of a sleeper for a base Civic... Lil over 7 to 60 in a Na 1.8 sohc..197k 38mpg... 8 Generations are the best Honda Civics. The new ones don't even drive like they do that base 8th Gen are older si 140 hp 128 lb stock.. I lost about a little under 30 lb by taking off the muffler like a little sport car I was impressed miflord it and it threw me back into seat and I first to go for a drive The drive by wire throttle dual stage air low wide stance with 16 inch tires... this Civic turns more heads than it should
You didn't even hit 60 mph...and you didn't start at 0 ... so really it was a weak run from 3-57 mph...good thing you didn't get to 60, you could hurt yourself
