- The video for “Crawling Kingsnake” was directed by Tim Hardiman and filmed at Jimmy Duck Holmes’ Blue Front Café, which is the oldest active juke joint in America.
Dan Auerbach says: “We were honored to play alongside Kenny Brown and Eric Deaton, who are a direct link to R.L. Burnside and Junior Kimbrough. This is the Mississippi hill country sound that Pat and I first bonded over.”

On May 14, The Black Keys release their tenth studio album, Delta Kream, via Nonesuch Records.
The record celebrates the band's roots, featuring Mississippi hill country blues standards that they have loved since they were teenagers, including songs by R.L Burnside and Junior Kimbrough, among others.

The new Black Keys sounds like the old Black Keys. And I love it.
Rubber Factory deserves as much success as El Camino. That album is a masterpiece.

I love it but really hope they add some hard hitting loud blues rock to the album like just a little heat or I got mine. This is fantastic music but the last few albums have all been very soft where I’d prefer a mix of soft rock and some drumstick breaking, finger blistering rock.
Guy in the cowboy hat playing along is Kenny Brown, grew up an apprentice to the legendary Mississippi Hill Country Bluesman R.L Burnside! Lived on the same street and played since he was a boy, he has grown into a legend of his own..
Kenny is the man he used to tour with RL and his son Cedrick

First thing I thought was this sounds so much like north mississippi allstars.
So I’m 13 now, but all my life when I was little my dad used to play songs by the black keys all the time (lonely boy, little black submarines, gold on the ceiling and tighten up, just to name a few)to the point where we had the album turn blue by them on repeat in the car for hours on a road trip. To this day that’s still my favorite album. I have listened to every album they have released and I actually saw them play live in L.A back when they released the let’s rock album, and they were on tour. It’s crazy how far they’ve come, from playing in their basement, to actually playing live shows in front of thousands of people. I’m glad their back and making another album and I’m very grateful my dad showed me this band. I love this band, and music.

@@lolipop504ful i was never allowed to go to concerts and things like that as a teen, most closest to me were in atlanta and my mom wasn’t down to take me or let me go alone. i finally saw them live on their last tour and to this day it was the best night of my life 😭 a friend and i snuck up to the front row and some nice people let us squeeze in beside them. and they gave us 2 encores!

@Anthony Lopez it’s from their forthcoming album, which they’ve said is a collection of covers of blues classics. This song was popularized by John Lee Hooker, most well known for Boom Boom, in the 1940s, though I believe the song actually dates back to the 1920s.
@Anthony Lopez even if it was an original, they are just talking about them playing with this sound again. Half of their old songs were covers anyways.

As a mid 20 year old and being raised by a guy who took me to BB King and Buddy Guy before I was 10. I can't explain how important these guys have been the last 10+ years. Makes me happy to hear blues being kept alive by groups like the Keys and Gary Clark

I think the doubling of the guitar line/vocal line might be one of my favorite blues moves. Money.....TModel Ford, Mississippi Fred, RL Burnside, Skip James, Elmore James, Willie Dixon....So glad the Black Keys pay homage to those artists. The honor themselves, the tradition and the history of the genre. Bravo Dan and Patrick.

As a proud Delta resident, I for one can not wait. This area has a rich, underrated music history and I know these guys are going to do it justice.
Underrated how?🤔 You can't mention blues without acknowledging the Delta roots and its legends in the genre. People just throw that term "underrated" around where it has no legitimacy and I don't get it.🤷 Literally no one is under rating Mississippi blues.
Holy Jesus it’s been 20 years since they formed in Ohio. Still in my top 3 bands of all time. Their music has always been fresh and relevant, I hope they continue releasing new music for a long time to come.

Love to hear them making blues again, not that commercial pop rock. Look they can make whatever they want and I’m glad they found success and broke through to the radio and charts, but I just LOVE me some Black Keys blues.
@@problyzuited9828 I actually much preferred El Camino to Turn Blue which I think was by far their weakest album and the most odd of the bunch. It was bizarre to me and had neither blues nor commercial appeal in my honest opinion. But yeah agreed on everything else. I think Danger Mouse just took them in a different direction and hopefully they just make what THEY think sounds good now. Back to the basement and the garage.
I started listening to the Black Keys 2 Years ago and i absolutly love El Camino, Brothers and Lets Rock. Yeah El camino and Lets Rock are more Pop Rock for sure but they still have the typical Black Keys sound to me that make them very different from other Pop Rock Albums.
I think its a good thing that Dan and Patrick try out different genres.
They're poppier stuff isn't bad. Definitely gives me similar vibes as 60s rock, but certainly pales in comparison to their bluesier stuff like this.
As musicians you want to push the boundaries and try different things otherwise you get stale. Dont forget they are artists and need to challenge themselves.
@@dividius2 again, I don’t disagree I’m just saying I don’t like their last few albums NEARLY as much as their early blues garage rock. They’re free to experiment how they would like but it is also a fact they’ve alienated a lot of not most of their early fans in opting to hire poppy producers and get more radio play. It’s their decision but it’s also mine to buy their album or not and decide what I listen to and I really just don’t like their last few albums after El Camine and before this most recent single.
Way back I saw these two easy going, laid back guys play a little barfly in Glasgow Scotland to about 100 people and blew everyone away with this huge, chewy, thick sound. It was a great night ....legends now but still the same core two authentic young guys I saw back then.

I sent my daddy on the road with the Rubber Factory album on a Friday night like "just trust me, you're gonna love it" he called me Saturday "I dunno about these boys" but by the time he got home Sunday I heard it pumping from his truck and he was like "man these boys have got it!" This video captures the feels and vibes of the central - mid-central United States so well! Raw blues and rockin!! I'm from Kansas btw and this just has be sitting here with a huge smile on my face lol! Glad that the Keys are back to roots at least just for a small time! This their own Chulahoma! They are bring the Junior energy like crazy!! I hope the whole album is like this and or a mix of this, Magic Potion, and Brothers when it comes to the gritty bluesy sounds. Brothers may have had some Radio tunes but there are some damn good blues tracks on it.
