I travelled alone for 3.5 years. I had this ritual where I would play this song as the plane took off. I was always scared of flying. Scared of being alone in the world. This song brought me comfort.
@@shivang15 Dan is clearly so high that he's not able to perform the song. The musicians keep following him around without success. Also too many notes skipped, and others too many out of place. They just didn't made justice for the one rare live appearance of their best song.
Vitor Amadeu Lol tha studio version has those “errors” too. And the fact that it’s not perfect makes it special. I don’t know, just seems like you don’t feel what other people do (and that’s not bad)
Too bad the drummer is not he rush so bad on the tempo on that live version. Even the cd version isnt strait at all but the tempo is somehow appropriate.
Are we glossing over the fact that Homeslice in the back is repeatedly swapping between an acoustic and electric guitar seamlessly in the middle of the song?
Dan's playing is really strong on this song. His solos might not be face melters, but you can easily feel/see the emotion while he's playing them. Great song
He serves the songs and that's what its about. He's a true artist. I love hearing an awesome solo that you dont know where its going but some like to just showcase skill. That's great and all and I respect that but I take a guy that cant go on crazy scale runs but has soul any day. True artist.
I've been watching this video over and over for probably a year and seen it climb in views just like it deserves, and right now It's about 10k away from a million so I'm claiming my "here before 1 million" ticket now. Hopefully, this means I'm not the only one madly in love with this performance 4 years after it came out.
Lyrics I used to think Darling, you never did nothing But you were always up to something Always had a run in, yeah I gotta think Those days are coming to get you Now Nobody want to protect you They only wanna forget you You'll be on my mind Don't give yourself away To the weight of love You'll be on your side Don't give yourself away The weight of, weight of love Dance all night 'Cause people they don't wanna be lonely Never wanna be lonely They don't wanna be an only one You had a thing No one could ever be sure of Never, ever had a pure love And never no cure from You'll be on my mind Don't give yourself away To the weight of love You'll be on your side Don't give yourself away The weight of, weight of love
I heard this song live last year, and man this is pure melancholic.... Black Keys one of the best bands i've seen + Interpol + Portishead. No need to do a super show, they just have to come, take their instruments and make us fly.
I saw this on tv and became a fan at that moment. I googled the band's name on my phone and heard all their music that night. I remember thinking to myself, woowwww this sounds like a beautiful life-changing experience. Glad I got to watch history.
Saw them live a couple of months ago, and they were absolutely astounding! Dan's solos were dope as hell and Patrick's energy was crazy! Love the new psychedelic vibe, love the old blues, love the Black Keys!
Greatest band ever. This song hits so many people. This song has so much meaning and so true. Sings it from the heart, thank you for the riff it helped me understand what I couldn't put together at the beginning.
I was going to complain that it wasn't The Keys as power-duo that I'd become accustomed, but I decided not to complain 'cuz this expanded band performance really works, and I love how the other instruments fill-out the sound -- gives Auerbach's guitar a chance to breathe and not carry so much of the workload.
I love the bassline on this - but it's all just great totally love it - no one will ever beat the black keys imo the epitamy of cool - nice bit of 2 guitar slung juggling goin on there too, absolutely *king awesome.
Great ! I really hope that in the future they will keep that psychedelic vibe and add it more blues. That was the only thing missing to this album i think.

Will always be one of my favorite bands. Hands down one of their best songs. I know this album isn't very well received but some of their songs on there, this one and In Our Prime especially, are so real and just resonate in a way none of their other songs do.
Patrick might be one of my favorite drummers of all time. I love the expressions he makes, it really lets you know he believes and grooves to everything he plays.
Each musician is contributing to the weight of this song delivering such meaningful and beautiful sounds reaching my soul. Wish they would have played it live when I saw them. This is good for now.
One of my favorite modern blues/rockers. Along with Bonamassa, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Gary Clark, jr. On and on. It's a relatively new genre for me so I'm on a high learning curb.
I can hear the Floyd influence as so many have commented on. I hear some Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young - Down by the River. This song is just another great example of The Black Keys. I love who and what inspires this band.
One of the most beautiful songs i've ever heard in my life.

Listening to this song with earphones while walking around the city just hits different.

damn fine intro indeed

Every note, every lyric is so deep it hurts, but in a good way. So fucking beautiful. The Black Keys are iconic.
Yes!
What a perfect description for the way this song hits us... 🔥
I love this era of the band. This album was very psychedelic!
The fact that it isnt perfect makes it perfect.
Right exactly. It's natural. It's beautiful. It's rockin
Truest words ever spoken about psychedelic rock. It's so organic and natural
That's the beauty of live music! We don't want to hear a carbon copy of the studio version, you gotta add some character to make it special.
Perfect to me!!!!
couldn’t have said it better myslef 👏🏻
This is how Rock Music supposed to be. This is pure

He did what needed to be done, & will not be replaced...
His solos don't melt your face, they blow it off.
Neon Horizon Ha! Perfect response. Little Black Submarines as an example.
Like John Frusciante´s guitar solos.

@@davidconnor5874 yeah, what kind of scorcery is that?
Yeah, how did he post 5 years ago? I don't need sleep, I need answers.
I vividly recall the first time I listened to this song. I played it on repeat during a three-hour car ride and I still get chills.
Dan Tech (playing the other guitar ) deserves some gratitude on this performance. Rip also to Richard what a great player he was .
ADayAsWolves was just thinking that! The way they synchronised that solo, not many can pull it off so naturally.
That's he Dan Johnson? Awesome!
Wearing two guitars and switching off playing each one during the song looks just as awesome as it sounds!!
I thought that guy was Dan A's brother so I began scouring the comments to see if I was right. Guess not.
Damn.....if you dont feel this in your soul and heart stop listening to music period, this is real music
Props to the guitar tech playing acoustic and electric guitar behind the wall of amps. He did a great job doubling the last solo.
