Thank you so much. I got the cover off just fine with a 19mm socket and could not figure out what size socket to use for the sensor itself. You saved me a bunch of time and frustration letting me know it was a 4 metric allen.
@@chip_stack I have a 01 honda foreman rubicon 500 and it does - - when in drive, and it will pop and struggle in reverse if that's your problem it is the, gear position sensor, hope this helps.
Yes. That is the same problem we had. Sometimes if you rock it a little, then it will find the gear and show it. If it can’t find the gear, then I am pretty sure it’s a faulty angle sensor. It’s a very common problem.
I would bet it’s the angle position sensor. Try rocking the machine a little to see if it can find the gear position before you go through the work of replacing the sensor. Sometimes that can get you by for a little while.
that is what it is.. thats an angle sensor. some bikes called it a positon sensor some called it a angle sensor my forman 450 the manual is angle sensor but uses the same part number
@@farmcards I was able to rock it n get it down into neutral, but something's definitely messed up in this transmission and I think it might be the shifter plate.
Have you tried replacing the shift motor and cleaning the gears behind the shift motor plate? That seems to be a common problem if not the angle sensor. I’m working on that just now with my 2000 Rancher.
Mine is dying once I shift into 5th gear. Runs great in every other gear. When I reach 5th it sputters, pops, and dies if I don’t down shift back into 4th? Any ideas?
If it is just displaying “-“ where it shows where the gear should be, try rocking it back and forth. Sometimes it is just between gears. If it still doesn’t work then it’s probably a bad position sensor.
That must be a different issue. There is also a speed sensor that could be causing your problem, but those don’t seem to fail very often. It’s possible you have a harness problem, or an issue with your plug.

Great video, should've washed it before the repair that sucker looks like it was buried in a hole 3 days ago
Hey your video is good just turn your volume up or speak louder
Thank you friend that was real helpful
I’m glad it was helpful
What issues were you having? I have same 4 wheeler. Mine won't shift and no N on dash.
I’m having same problem, have you figured out anything?
That is exactly the problem we were having
Sometimes shifting, I'll get two - - readout. I wonder if it's the angle sensor
I have the same problem . Did you end up figuring out your problem?

Anyone have one that shifts up fine but won’t shift down? I can hear a click but no more
Could a damaged front differential cause quad to get stuck in 1st gear? I heard grinding noise and now its stuck in 1st gear and won't turn on
Prueba a cambiar la marcha manualmente con una llave 13
I have reverse light on and neutral wen in neutral would not let me start up but it does crank
Did you find where the problem was in your four wheeler I have a 03 and it's doing exactly the same thing I appreciate if you let me know what it was
Isn't that the angle sensor?

Thanks for the video
Did you need to reset anything
no
What were your symptoms? Would it shift but not move? Or would it just not shift? Thanks
It would not show any gear position on the screen, and it would not shift.
Mines is doing that! Shifts gears but won’t move only moves a tab but what could it be?
@@AceMendez503did you figure it out man? I have the same issue
I kind of have the same problem except I'm stuck in 5th gear.
Sorry to hear that

There is a bolt on the trans to manually shift it

Sorry. I have not had that happen.
May be my problem I did not spring load mine when I put it back on
How did you spring load?
You line up the half moon opening on the shaft, then turn the sensor so the holes line up.
Mine just died and it isn't displaying at all in the screen and buttons don't make sounds when you try to shift

is that the front or the back
front
Mine flashes 3 times in neutral and wont change gears
I have the same problem you have.
Did you figure it out,
Thank you.
@@mannynieto21 Thats code number 3. Gear position switch system.
Mine isn't there

I did exactly what you explained and it didn’t fix the issue. Mines still stuck in neutral and flashes 3 times.

Can you post the link to the sensor you bought in this video?
