The Minnesota Orchestra, under Osmo Vanska, has just completed its Mahler cycle! The final recording (Mahler 3) will be released in the coming months. The 8th was just released, and it is splendid!
I have no idea how one decides to write a first movement that lasts 33 minutes. That is longer than an entire Mozart symphony. This is the musical equivalent of the Great Pyramids of Giza.
Замечательные духовики! Чистые!
Thanks so much for uploading!
From 6:38 to 9:00 is the best part
Wow. About the world's best Mahler conductor right now, along with Chailly.

Think of it as a movie, it's BARELY a symphony.
I've always argued that this first movement could be a standalone one-movement symphony. Its simply fantastic!
😂
Very strange not to mention the conductor: Ivan Fischer !
The conductor's name is in the video title and in the description
Ivan, the great!
could you please do the last movement/
