A good live rendition of the early Wagner overture, though the orchestra seemed to be holding back a bit in the latter half of the piece. Jansons was calling for more energy than they gave him in an overture that needs to build intensity and finish very strongly. Check out Tennstedt's LPO 1988 live in Tokyo performance to see it done with real verve.
