Hey, guys. We're going to talk about turning smoothly, so how to make a turn using your edges. So when you're going to lean and go around a corner, you can either use your edges or crossing over. So edges, we're going to bend our knees, We're going to lean the direction that we're turning.
So we'll be nose, knee, toe, leaning to the inside of the turn. And then we're just going to push with our outside foot straight, and really focusing on that outside edge, turning around the corner. When we change directions, we bring everything back together, weight transfer to the other leg so we can turn to the right now. We're going to push out with our left, and again nose, knee, toe, leaning to the inside of the turn. And then we'll push out and then come back through, change your motion to the left side, and do the same thing.
So this is what it looks like really small. We're just going to bend, and lean in, and push out. Notice how I'm leaning to the inside of my circle here, keeping my shoulders square, keeping my hips square, and just pushing to the outside. And then change to the other foot. Same thing, pushing to the outside, leaning to the inside of my circle, keeping my shoulders and hips square to the center of that circle. So that's how you make a smooth turn. So this is what it looks like on a grand scale.

I watched this twice on yesterday and one time this morning before going out and guess what...it worked!!! I was able to turn and really leaned into my outside edges while turning my upper body. Thank you so much!!! I will work on cross overs next.

I’ve tried and tried, I know absolutely nothing about skating but I am a dancer and dance teacher so I understand weight shifting, body alignment and such,
And leave it to skating to make me feel as though I’ve never taken a dance class in my life .. I’m looking as graceful as a triangle wheels on a car.

I have a 78A wheels, they are like gummy and i am like impossible to turn like this or to slow down using little turn. Has anyone tried this softness of wheels and faced same issue? Would this be changed after several use or shall I buy harder ones.

If you ever feel like you're going to fall, or you're stuck and can't push off, just kneel down and push with your hands. It helps you at least get somewhere so youre not stuck.

From my experience when speed skating when I tried it did not help it went ruff same when u jam it dose not help but it dose help if ur a beginner my friend is not that good so I showed her and it helped her a lot so thanks for that can u try to do how to not loose your breath when speed skating

You will need to loosen the actions on your skates. That way you can just lean and the skate steers for you.
