Had a customer come in with a Klippo mower for 'spring startup'. The fuel bowl was full of oil. I was amazed that it started first pull once I'd cleaned it out.
Awesome, thanks for the video. I suspected something like this to be the issue, so I'll go check it out...
It was very helpful, thank you very much
Thank you so much, grateful for your video
Thanks for the info
Heck yeah , so well explained . i always find great content here.
Thanks !!!
Great video - thank you!
can gas go through the head gasket and fill the crankcase with gas?
Good job of explaining what can happen with a stuck float or bad needle and seat.
I learned this myself the hard way. (About gas in the oil) Time for a carburetor rebuild with gaskets. Another thing is if your gas tank is higher than your engine gravity will pull the gas into it when your gaskets are shot. Maintenance is very important. But also if it ain't broke don't fix it. My mower is10 years old, time for overhaul
I bougt a poulan mover with a full cut off in stall. I was mowing and ran out of gas now i cant get the mower to turn over could you help in a diagnostic of this problem
Great video! I had noticed an oil leak on my generator and when i went to pull the filler extremely thin oil started shooting out almost under pressure! I was scratching my head thinking just how, well thanks for the answer!
I forgot to shut off the fuel line to my rider started it up the next day it ran for maybe 3 minutes started smoking and spitting oil from the air breather and would die so would i be able to clean the carb out and drain the oil and out all fresh oil and gas in then would it run again?
what about if the valves are not seating completely? Would that allow fuel to flow into the cylinder and down past the rings?
Ya I think that iam having the same problem .with mine .but mine is kicking fuil out the exzost on mine
I have this problem. Does the engine need flushed or something to get rid of the gas after draining the oil
Cool
Great explanation! I have a question, what cause oil to spit from the crank case vent hose while the engine is running? I made sure the oil was not over-filled first. Thanks for any help!
worn piston rings ?
Mine the float is cracked I have a craftsman 2 18hp opposed twin can't seem to find a replacement float anywhere
Awesome video. I have a question. On a Kawasaki mule gas engine what would cause fuel in the oil? No float, fuel injection but oil smells like fuel and is thin.
Fuel pressure regulator leaking most likely
What's the proper way to flush the crankcase after you have diagnosed fuel in the oil? Have big block Vanguard twin that has gas in the oil. Changed oil c/w filter. Then after cleaning carb, it smokes badly.
Change oil 4 times. If the engine was run with gas In the oil for very long then there’s a good chance that the rings are washed out
Every engine needs a fuel cut off valve, it’s a must now days and it used every time plus check oil
It's called a pet cock vaulve
When I start engineering gas comes up through crank vent
You said you would have to flush the crankcase but didn't say how. I drained the oil (gas) from the crankcase then left both ends open so the remaining gas could evaporate. I suppose I could blow some air down in it.
I shouldn’t have to go into detail on how to flush your crank case you just put oil in it run it drain it you put oil in it run it drain it and you put oil in it and run it and drain it
all of the gas in the gas tank of my 4 stroke push blower is gone into the crankcase😳
You saved me today you don't even know
What if it’s not the carb at all? I have a Honda gx630 brand new OEM carb from Honda directly and new fuel pump engine is constantly filling with fuel and sputtering out/smoking. Also inspected last carb nothing in sight wrong with it
Fuel pump might be pushing to much psi causing the flooding
Put a pressure regulator on it
HI Jeremy
donyboy73 hey dB! How’s it going?
@Lukas Ashton you’re a bot ive seen this comment before
@Jedidiah Yusuf you’re also a bot, I’ve seen this reply before also.
You didn’t put the link to the craftsman tractor you referenced.
You must fast forwarded over that part
I agree. You said you’d put link below after video. I looked twice and didn’t see a link pop up or at the end
Bad piston rings
is it possible ?
Anything is possible
