BIG SHOUT OUT TO OUR Y&F LEGENDS MEMBERS:
Mohammed Soliman, Развлечения
US Army retired combat vet. I spent 4 years in Iraq and 2 in Afghanistan and those A-10 pilots saved my buddies and my ass on more than one occasion. We love those dudes!!
Lovely f***** sound. Hoorah.
Thanks for your service
Thank you for your service you are greatly appreciated. May god protect our troops.
I’m a military, or army brat…i know second hand! You fought, and we sacrificed!!! Love you…your service was not in vain!!!!
uhuh
This is why the A-10 should NEVER be retired!
💯💯💯💯💯💯Agreed. Nothing else like it. 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
100%
have you seen the a-10 2.0 wicked looking think its in fly trials
Its ready for the anti-gravity upgrade.
they are trying to retire it because they don't want to buy new wings for them
Proud Air Force mother here. I'm just looking at the patch my son gifted me when I visited him at Lackland AFB. Shout out to the 321st training squadron at Hackney in San Antonio: Go Warthogs! BRRRRT!!!
20+ years ago my unit was deployed in Afghanistan. When we were out on patrol we found ourselves pinned down and in a world of hurt so we called in air support. The only thing we had in the area was a single A-10 warthog but they were low on ammunition and low on fuel but they came anyways. The A-10 made 2 low and loud flybys over the enemy. The first flyby the enemy immediately cease fire and on the second flyby the enemy ran for their lives. That A-10 warthog pilot saved a lot of lives that day and he or she never fired a shot.
The A-10 warthog is the ultimate weapon for close ground support it has no equal.
I am here today because they were there back when I was in. One can not imagine what a few A-10s will do to a battlefield, it is just awesome and they haven't made an enemy yet that isn't absolutely terrified of them. There were two aircraft that made enemy ground units panic and fear to the point they would surrender to anyone and anything, including a helicopter hovering nearby or even a fuel truck that was passing by. Those two aircraft were the A-10 and the B-52. Every time I am near one, I give it a big hug and kiss with loving pats on its skin, for if it wasn't the one that saved me, it surely has been the one that saved someone, some brother or sister of mine and so has earned that respect.
If there is one infantryman around an A-10 driver will never buy a drink.
Former USAF here, did munitions systems for the A-10, absolutely love this aircraft…IYAAYAS
My husband’s nephew was a Grunt…got a Purple Heart…we are grateful for his service…he was injured w/ metal shrapnel . 🇺🇸🙏🏻
BTW…my husband (Air Force 21 years of service)🇺🇸👏🏻🙏🏻
I live near an Air National Guard base where A-10s are based. It's impressive to see and hear them flying overhead.
I actually remember that reporters "report " " when he and a partner shot down a record number of Iraqi tanks"...I was like, did she actually say "shot down tanks!"....
A-10 for the troops, Ac-130 for SF. Both things you don't want to see if you are the enemy 😂
What does SF mean? Thanks.
I am a 62 years old West-German. In the event of a conflict between NATO and the Warsaw Pact, the A-10 would have been used extensively, for example in the Fulda Gap. The Warsaw Pact had tens of thousands of battle tanks in its arsenal, NATO does not. One way to create a balance was the A10, the on-board cannon perfect for fighting tanks. By the way, it is worthwhile for anyone interested to find out a little about the Fulda Gap and what would have happened there in the event of war. The survival time of a battle tank, no matter which side, for example, would have been terrifying. An outstanding aircraft. An excellent book about this then absolutely possible event of World War III is the novel "In the Storm" by Tom Clancy.
Gut lesen.
One of my favorite memories was going back to Fulda a few years after we left for a reunion. The German nationals looked at us and asked hopefully 'Are you coming back, we miss the radio'. I know that isn't all they missed, the taxi drivers were very happy to see us as well. People don't understand that the troops stationed at Fulda were just meant to slow down an invasion, the troops understood quite well what their job was. The civilians never knew what was going to happen to them but the guys at the tip of the spear knew and they trained to throw back whatever was thrown at them to save the German civilians in the town that that they came to love.
LOVE the WARTHOG PILOTS. A-10 Pilots. Thank you! You are in so much danger with what you do. Patriots are our greatest asset.
I was USAF in Shaw AFB back in the late 70s. There is a gunnery range where various type of aircraft would practice bomb and strafing runs. From the base you could see A-10s circling, then they would dive and pass behind the trees from our vision. Then you could here the unmistakable sound of that huge gatling gun they carry. Then the A-10 would gain altitude and circle back around or depart the area. The gunnery range was 2-3 miles from the base. Many think they are ugly planes, I do not, not at all. They are Mike Tyson tough and brutal when they strike.
Their beauty isn't in pretty shapes and swoopy lines. It's in the A-10s incredible functionality. It has a specific ability and it carries out its mission with a vengeance!
I like watching gunships but I love the A-10. Anything A-10.
You will enjoy knowing there is a next generation A-10 that just joined the air fleet! Hard to believe there could be any improvements on the venerable A-10. Good to see our British cousins showing America's warriors some love and respect!!
My dad was in the Air Force, I went army engineering, the A10 helped me out a lot in iraq
BRRRRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTT BBBBBRRRRRTTTTTTTTT We loved hearing those Zoomies coming in!!!! Semper Fi !!!!
I am 71 years old and I would love to see one of the upgraded A-10's up close and personal.
A10 is one of the most maneuverable aircraft around. Got to be the most fun plane to fly.
There is a military culture that becomes a way of life for a lot of Americans. Those if us who have been born to it, raised in it, and aspired to it, are typically the people that want this job, and are selected for it.
We had an unscheduled fly by around 17 years ago here in Nashua by 2 A-10's. I was on my condo balcony and out of nowhere they came straight towards me around 400 yards above ground, and straight over the entire complex. To say it was loud is such an understatement and scared the cr** out of me since I was not expecting it.
I worked on the design of one of the A-10s sensors in the early 80s.
@ 7:23 you hear the cracking of the bullets flying past your head as they break the sound barrier, mind you that bullet is now a mile away by the time the sound catches up with it...
Ah, i see you have discovered the gun with wings. Its amazing isn't it?
Actually, my dad was a United States, Marine, and Vietnam and I went in the Marine Corps in 1989 when I graduated
The reason that pilot wears his A-10 patch on Fridays is the 11 Bravos will make sure he never pays for a beer when they are around. That’s how much love and respect they have for a Warthog pilot. 🇺🇸🤟🏼
Believe it or not the A-10 is considered to be among the slowest of planes doing the ground support role .. The top speed of an A-10 is only 420 mph where as other planes like the F-22 is 1,500mph or mach 2.25 . But for true ground support you don't want something moving too fast because there is greater chance of it missing the target and having to come in again to try . When ground units need air support they need it NOW and need it to be as accurate as possible on the first run .
My family has 4 generations of Veterans WWll, Korea, Vietnam, and Iraq/afganistan
Not a Canon, it was a mortar.
Love the military videos, guys. If possible, I would like to see more videos of the guys on the ground.
Another aircraft like this is the Navy A-7 I nicknamed the Great White, because the intake looks like a shark's mouth open.
It's if anything a huge morale booster. I was a guy on the ground and to this day I get stiff down below every time I see and hear it
The conversations with the a-10 pilots! ❤ That says everything about being a pilot of this special aircraft.
i have been waiting for this for like almost 2 years, great vid guys
The A-10 bullets travel faster than the speed of sound. So if you hear the brrrrrt, you weren't the target.
😅 I love it!
I think they've realized that there's no getting rid of the A-10 since they're developing a new one. I've been around and buzzed by a ton of jets and like the A-10's gun, there's no other sound like those engines.
The A10 is the BIG brother showing up to the fight!!!
Man ...:05 seconds in made me look up..those whisps ans whistles u hear are very very close incoming rds ....never forget that sound
The 30mm canon in the nose is 17 feet long and shoots a shell that is the size of a beer bottle, you better hide!!! LOL
My father flew the A-7 in the air force for 10-11 years(70s & 80s)... he quit when the A-10 started being used because he felt it wasnt fast enough to stay safe from enemy fire... he went on to work for the FAA for 20 years after that.
Great content as usual. America loves you, switch to our side! ❤️🇺🇸💪
If you think wanting to be a Fighter Pilot is rare or niche... A10 isn't even a fighter. Close Air Support is so risky, but it's what saves lives.
German and 62 years old
There are commentators who believe that the A-10 is too slow.
My answer to that is, not only would a speed in the Mach range be completely unproductive, it would make the whole aircraft incredibly vulnerable to enemy fire. A lot more technology, a lack of armor, etc., would make this into a machine If you wanted to install a machine, it would probably weigh 2,000 tons (this is an exaggeration of course), absolutely impractical and suicidal. The German Air Force had so-called tank destroyers or ground attack aircraft in use during World War II, such as the Junkers Ju 87-G and Henschel HS 129. Take a look at these and the A-10 Warthog with what severe damage they made it “home”. I submit that this would be impossible with a Mach ground attack aircraft.
Hog fan since 1977. Endured training in South Carolina. Went to war with Flying Tigers. Never seen anything with these moves. Quieter than industrial air conditioner. No radar. Close in speed to WWII fighter. Nothing, I repeat, nothing like it. Wish we had the vision for continued support of our Grunts. 1. See the gun fire, see. 2. See things explode. 3. BRRRRRRRRRT.
Another good video guys, keep up the good work
In basic training we heard the grunts around us as they shoot 500 rounds per second and you just hear brrrrr, brrrrr!
The ground troops always asked . What AC are doing close air support on this mission . When you’re LT tell you it’s the Hogs your confidence that you will come home is high .
The A-10 has friends in both houses of Congress. It's still flying despite the Air Force's desire to retire it.
I only got to watch and more importantly listen to the A-10 doing practice strafing runs. I never had the honor of the A-10 above me for air support since we were in Iraq in mostly areas heavily populated with civilians.
However I did get to have Apache attack helicopters watching our back, front and sides many many times. And while nothing is more impressive than the A-10's gun, but I would definitely not want to be on the wrong side of Apache's Hellfire missiles, 70mm rockets, and a 30mm M230 Chain Gun.
And the funny thing about Apache pilots and gunners is they really really hate returning to base when they still have ammunition. They want to use everything they got, if there's a broken down car they will unload everything they have until either the target is turned to powder or they're out...
Especially this female Apache pilot, when she came on station we knew this is gonna be a fun day/night.
When the enemy hears that sound they know the end is near.
Watching these makes a person understand how hard it is was for our troops to know who the enemy was because of the way they were dressed! In the Vietnam war and WW2 the enemy were in military uniform ! Any one of the men in that town could have been Taliban! Great reaction ❤
This aircraft is the you’ve effed around and now is the you find out phase.
The a10 the US infantry’s guardian angel! Brrrp!
Those A-10 pilots are always looking for some action and put their own lives on the line to get in the middle of it...God bless them
Army here, myself and lot of friends here today, due to those A-10s.....sound that I will never forget
The reason it says "summer fighting season" is because in between the growing and harvest seasons afghani farmers would often join the Taliban briefly, sometimes for extra cash or other motives. and then return to their farms in time for the harvest or next planting cycle. This growth in the number of fighters would lead to heightened periods of violence or depending on the region, periods of inactivity.
The A-10 is a good reason why you're foolish to poke the bear. We don't look for a fight, but we're happy to oblige you if you're stupid enough to start one. I saw an A-10 put on a flight demo at an air show about 15 years ago and you wouldn't want it to be coming after you!
React to "Iowa hawkeyes wave story on ESPN college gameday". One of my favorite traditions in college football.
Look up Captain Kim Campbell. She is a badass
Those are flares coming out of the A -10 in case of ground to air heat seaking missles. They never shot at the enemy but just scared them with their presence.
I’ll never forget that heat on my face being so happy to hear the brrrrrr
Unlike Russia we want all of our men and women in the military in active duty to come home safe. Its why we spend the massive amount of money on our military. Its more important that they come home alive. They deserve respect and support.
You should check out the video city at sea about aircraft carrier.
If you can hear that A-10 gun, you weren't the target. Each shell is about the size of a large bottle of coca cola and tipped with depleted uranium in order to pierce the armor of tanks. Now imagine having 300 per second being fired at you. There's usually not a whole lot left of the enemy once they make a pass or two. It's an amazing aircraft. Because they fly so low that they can end up taking a lot of fire, the pilot sits in a cockpit lined in titanium to protect them from incoming fire. Never have figured out whether those pilots are brave or crazy. I just know that brrrrt brrrt is music to the ears of anyone under attack whether Army or Marines. Semper Fi
as a child, I built model aircraft almost every week, and I must say I thought the A-10 was the coolest Fighter.
Back in the day . The TV would always run commercials on US Army and Air Force
I think it's not uncommon in the US to be obsessed with military hardware as a kid, but especially fighter jets. I know I was, back in the 80s and 90s. The movie Top Gun helped make it a phenomenon and seem really cool, of course. When it comes to actually considering the military as a career, that certainly does heavily depend on whether you have family that serve. Despite my own obsession, I never once considered actually going into the military.
The A-10 warthog is the plane that made me wish I knew how to fly.
If you listen to the gun, the loud part you hear (at least on the ground) are the rounds hitting the ground the softer after vrrrrr is the bullets leaving the gun
They (hogs) are the reason I'm here and was able to walk my daughter down the isle
When the bad guys hear and see the A-10 coming they know the end is coming real quick.
I've heard that the pilots are called Stick Controllers because its just a plane body built around the main gun out of the front.
f-15 etc... f standing for fighter there not as good at low altitude support. a stands for attack. it needs the slower speed to do it better. even the warthog and the warthog 2.0 are updated. can handle being roughed up more. be fairly easier to take a f35 down at the same flight plan
They fly over the house frequently on the way to a air to ground range.
sadly they want to get rid of the A-10 and replace them with drones. I get it financially but what about the morale of the troops and the fact that the A-10 scares enemies away?
The idiots in dept of defense keep wanting to retire the A-10 because it isn’t flashy enough and it’s too cheap for the military industrial complex who wants to get more taxpayer money.
We need to see Fats in a ride along!
The a10 is a subsonic aircraft.
04:00 So people were shooting down tanks?🤦🏻♂️
Look at new SR-72..new air force jet...spy plane does Mach 6 with lasers
Fan favorite.
If you hear the BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT you weren't the target.
@ 9:03 Which one of you sees a beautiful sunset, and who sees the likeness of a nuke exploding in the distance ?! 🌇🤯
Those bullets are depleted uranium on the a10.
Saved my ass few times, AIRBORNE
This is a flying tank
To me A10 = Flying Dragon.
GAU-8 ground troops best friend
It is much better to have such a machine but not need it at that moment than to urgently need it but not not have it.
I wish they could have these A-10s in to my country, with the artillery it would be greatd combo.. F-35s we are getting but these would be nice addition to troops.. Br. From Finlnad ps nice reaciton
ANH, Afghani guard. When they act scared, they've been warned by the Taliban. They'll leave you to the wolves...
You must have alot of boomers sending you these military clip.lmao
A Freak'n You-Tuber my God this generation !!! 😳😄😆🤣
Sgt, Semper Fi
Them and the equipment are not just for the US, they do it for you too! Our gov. have done things..... We need to fix because it's not a tool for the corupt!
Would anyone want to be on the wrong end of a gun shooting 100 rounds every second?
💯
if they really wanna help those guys on the ground maybe they should run for congress
Metallica "Seek and Destroy"!
Brrrrtt...the sound of 11B problems being solved...don't be a 11B problem 😈
it is both common practice and common courtesy to include a link to the original video in the description and/or pinned comment. if your whole channel is reactions, you think you'd know that...
