I just wanted to thank you. I bought the Kitefin on your recommendation, and while I didn't like it at first, it's become my favorite EDC. It's so sharp and slicey. Absolutely awesome knife.
Had the Ferum Forge mini archbishop with me during a bad car wreck last week. I got 3 broken ribs , punctured lung , huge forehead gash, broken teeth and full of bruises. Not one scratch on the knife . lol Its well made.
LOVE this video. For my EDC I really like a thin, sharp edge. My next purchase is probably going to be the Civivi Shredder. I love my Praxis. “ what a unique concept. Knives that can cut something.”
I completely agree with many of he choices. I totaly get what you are saying about the Chaparral. I think that is a must own knife. Thanks for the great content.
Great video. Most folding knives today seem to have been built for prying and rope cutting, so it is great to get an overview of knives that are more suitable for slicing as an EDC is more likely to be used to slice and apple than dig a trench. I am planning to get the TRM Atom and the Quiet Carry Waypoint. Have a look at the Waypoint - it should be a great slicer too.
I own the Kitefin, Mini Archie and Screamer. I’d add the Chaves Redencion and Cold Steel Code 4 to my list. All the 11 Civivi knives I own have a high slicey factor. 👍🏽🔪
Can we have another one of these please? Perhaps top 5 folders and top 5 fixed blades, in EDC size. I will miss out on all the automatic because it's not legal here. Would have purchased the ProTech, but can't :)
So I don’t have any of these knives to compare against, but my sliciest knife is my S35vn civivi elementum. It’s got thinner stock than the d2 version and with the hollow grind, holy crap. It cuts corrugated cardboard like a laser beam. I used it exclusively for cutting wrapping paper at Xmas time, laying on carpet, along a straightedge instead of scissors and it was a breeze.
I have a couple on your list and have to agree with you. I really need to check out some on your list that I don’t have...like the Wato is one I could go for. Thanks Bryan...
Probably the sliciest factory edge I've encountered is that on the Spyderco Lil Nilakka. I measured the TBE a few days ago, & the _highest_ measurement was 0.009".
For cutting alone, what's your opinion on a standard Stanley knife? They are made for nothing but cutting, so it would be the best ever, unless there's some additional X-factor required.
I haven't experienced anything from the Civivi line, but I can certainly attest that CJRB's Feldspar is one heck of a slicer. If you were to extend the list to top 15, would the Spyderco Smock make it? The blade on it looks pretty slicely
I can of course Google these separately, but in your reviews of these could you comment or display whether or not these hand tools (knives) work for carry and use with either hand? On a couple of these I couldn't see the entire handle to tell.
I gotta say... I am somewhat leaning toward the camp that the Watu isn't exactly the most immediately aesthetically appealing knife I've seen haha but after watching this video... It's on my radar. 2 caveats, though: 1.) Steve didn't get very great results with Spyderco 20CV (or maybe it was M390, I forget), and 2.) I want it for a work knife but it's a little out of my work-knife-price-range. I hope they continue to make more slender knives with the compression lock like that, though.
@@SliceyDicey I was just looking at a Sage 5 LW with some siiiiiiick custom CF scales this morning on the secondary. It was pricey but I wish I'd just done it. But I'm still looking for a regular Sage 5LW anyway.
Great video, thanks! Also, if you happen to see this - I am in a MAJOR struggle and in need of sound advice. Looking for a new EDC for around $70-80, not bulky, not Cold Steel. I've been eyeing the Kizer Sliver, but any additional suggestions will be highly appreciate! Cheers, mate!
If you want a very light and relatively small EDC in D2 and would like to try a front flipper, I suggest the Civivi McKenna. I love mine and is very slicey.
My three slicey knives my code 4 xhp an med Espada it is incredibly thin edge it's xhp also an my boker AK also xhp i love xhp its amazing also i like lockbacks dont trust liner locks
Slicey Dicey thanks for the feedback, really appreciate your channel. That would make a great battle the death. They appear to do everything that I’m looking for in a knife: 1) Thin blade stock, slicy blade 2) good ergos 3) good steel 4) deep carry 5) good fit n finish 6) reasonable price 7) good action
I must've had bad luck with my Steel Will knives. I've purchased three so far, and all had pretty poor factory edges, they would tear paper/barely slice through it.
Not sure if sarcastic, but...... 9cr18mov is to 8cr13mov what BD1N is to BD1. Vastly superior, but gets overlooked likely due to its name being so similar to the inferior steel.
Seriously, bro? 4Max Scout not a slicer?? No thanks, dude. UNSUB'ED!! . . . . I joke, I joke!!! I'm sorry, I just get so angry when you talk bad about my Cold Steel 4Max... I'm sorry!
I'll stick with my cheap and effective Opinel # 8 in my lunch bag -- best tomato slicer ever. Just wipe the blade dry before folding it back up.
Yes. Keep it sharp and it will do any slicing job, especially on food.
I love opinels, easy to customize and easy to replace if you mess it up.
Boooooring
The 4Max is one of those blades that can change your tire without removing the rim.
@David P. lmao Ikr
I just wanted to thank you. I bought the Kitefin on your recommendation, and while I didn't like it at first, it's become my favorite EDC. It's so sharp and slicey. Absolutely awesome knife.
Have you used and handled Civivi Shredder? How do the two compare? What didn't you like about the Kitefin, if I may ask?
Had the Ferum Forge mini archbishop with me during a bad car wreck last week. I got 3 broken ribs , punctured lung , huge forehead gash, broken teeth and full of bruises. Not one scratch on the knife . lol Its well made.
Damn! Get well soon!
@@SliceyDicey Thanks! I am day by day. I am waiting on a WE Angst. That'll scratch my knife itch while bedridden for a week or more.
Listen to the man Microtech. Please make a LUDT manual!
That is the ultimate request! It would knock my Sebenza 21 out of my pocket. Especially living in CA.
Yes. I want that to happen. Manual LUDT with torx screws. Perfect knife.
And no false edge please.
LOVE this video. For my EDC I really like a thin, sharp edge. My next purchase is probably going to be the Civivi Shredder. I love my Praxis. “ what a unique concept. Knives that can cut something.”
Can agree, clamshell packaging is evil.
I like my manix 2's for slicy knives.
I have the mini rsk in red gmascus and I can confirm it is almost the perfect knife
Thanks for the reviews. Mcusta Tsuchi Bushi in vg10 damascus. Beautiful slicer. Beautiful knife as well. Razor sharp.
Waiting on a WE Angst . When kitefin is in stock, will get immediately! Looks so cool in CF or circle pattern titanium.
Nice list.. thanks for sharing 👍
I completely agree with many of he choices. I totaly get what you are saying about the Chaparral. I think that is a must own knife. Thanks for the great content.
Great article in KI about the Atom, hopefully they become available soon
Lots of new knives here. Probably because knife companies are finally listening to us consumers. Thx for vid.
Gosh the scalesn on the TRM Atom look amazing. Yes, they did instantly remind me of starry starry night!
I just got my mini RSK!👍
Excellent young man! Thank you.🔪😎
This was a great vid! Really enjoyed watching it!

EDIT: Sorry, you have reviewed the Waypoint already :)
Two great budget options, saks and opinels
Was focusing on modern stuff.
Slicey Dicey yea I get that. You’ve totally sold me on the LUDT, gonna pick when you when I see it
The purple LUDT is my new favorite of your collection I think 💪🏻💪🏻 it’s dope
One of mine as well!

Awesome line-up 😎
I just ordered three two sons because of your video they got some awesome stuff man

Another great video, though I wouldn't have minded a top 20 video. :)
I agree on the atom being slicer. S20cv is hard to beat .I went on the list for the Ritter .
Opinel belongs on this list
So I don’t have any of these knives to compare against, but my sliciest knife is my S35vn civivi elementum. It’s got thinner stock than the d2 version and with the hollow grind, holy crap. Oh yeah I love my microtech ludt such a great knife. It's a straight laser beam
The Anthony griffin monster is the best slicer ever change my mind I would also add ergonomics to the list of things to qualify as a good slicer
Cool list. Great call on the Chaparral, so much better than the Delica. Atom and Neutron top my list.
Probably the sliciest factory edge I've encountered is that on the Spyderco Lil Nilakka. I measured the TBE a few days ago, & the _highest_ measurement was 0.009".
My two best Slicers are the civivi wyvern and the cold steel broken skull
I need an Atom so bad!! Those scales are sick.
I got the RSK mini it’s sweet thanks for video
Great list... dying to get my hands on a Civivi Shredder or maybe the Backlash. Thanks for the info.
For cutting alone, what's your opinion on a standard Stanley knife? They are made for nothing but cutting, so it would be the best ever, unless there's some additional X-factor required.
Opinel no.7 for me!
Hey Slicey, I have a Purple Ultratech D/E, only a few months old, if you want to do some swapping. It would be the perfect match to your LUDT.
I haven't experienced anything from the Civivi line, but I can certainly attest that CJRB's Feldspar is one heck of a slicer. If you were to extend the list to top 15, would the Spyderco Smock make it? The blade on it looks pretty slicely
My top 3 best slicers
1/ Spyderco Lil Nilakka
2/ Buck Mayo TNT
3/ Spyderco Chapparal
That kitefin is nice!
Nice to see sharpened prybars getting less and less love.
Great video, thanks!
So, this begs the question: what knives almost made the cut?
In yout opinion, which modelsdo you believe are the top five " sliceiest" Cold Steel folders?
The Chaparral is very slicey and also the k390 delica is too.
I can of course Google these separately, but in your reviews of these could you comment or display whether or not these hand tools (knives) work for carry and use with either hand? On a couple of these I couldn't see the entire handle to tell.
What's the BTE measurement on the mini-ritter-hogue?

how was the beef jerky, ive seen ads for the "bricks" and they are tempting
Meh... good but not worth the hype.
@@SliceyDicey good to know thanks
Hey Bryan! Just curious, how do you think the we kitefin compares to the rectifier in terms of slice?
Been very long since I had a Rectifier. Can't say.
Was the Hogue Deka close? Mine is awesomely slicey.
Very.

4:55 Yes! I want a LUDT so damn bad, but sadly I live in Canada :'(
I have a LUDT with 204P. yeah just amazing
I'm hoping the new swayback since it's so thick at the spine, I'm hoping it will be like 12 thouthands bte fingers crossed
WE Kitefin vs Mini RSK? Looking for something in that $150 and 3inch range
The RSK is a bit beefier, but the Kitefin is prettier.

Bought the mini archbishop in black g10 for my girlfriend. It’s an awesome flipper and gf knife
Sandrin TCK? Approx 1 mm thin, albeit an oddball.
I must've had bad luck with my Steel Will knives. I've purchased three so far, and all had pretty poor factory edges, they would tear paper/barely slice through it.
My modus and cutjack were both great
We knives whisp!!!!!!!! The sliciest of all slicers
Bryan, did I miss something or did you only do one video on subscriber's collection submissions? Thx.
So far yes. They actually take a very long time to produce.
@@SliceyDicey Ok...looking forward to more.
How about the Spyderco delica 4? It's my least favorite knife, but it's super slicey!!!! It will go to work on fruit and cardboard.
I too really wish more knives would come in 9cr18mov.
Not sure if sarcastic, but......
9cr18mov is to 8cr13mov what BD1N is to BD1.
Vastly superior, but gets overlooked likely due to its name being so similar to the inferior steel.
@@CNYKnifeNerd Not sarcastic at all. In many ways I'd prefer 9cr over the d2 that seems so common.
4 max is a slicer?
Sebenza is pretty slicey
I really should get a shredder. It looks like companies are making thing slicier !
That steel will almost looks like a budget Stitch.
Love my PM2 in Maxamet
Have you cross dressed the Atom with mismatched scales?
I have not. I still have SOME standards!
Fifth, category; grind?
I so wish that Civivi Shredder was 9Cr18MoV rather than D2. 9Cr seems to be stable at 12 DPS, and D2 most certainly is not.
Good video, nice selection. I would only use the Watu to slice really ugly, angular crap. Just sayin'... can't help myself.
No Quiet Carry Waypoint?
Would have been in the top 12 for sure.
Ahh the age old question... how few invisible knives can I have for this video.
👍👊
👍🍻
Quiet Carry Waypoint?
Michael Marsh Would be interesting the top 12-15 for sure.
I would like to add Real Steel Megalodon. Best slicer for a buck.. (Poor man's Shirogorov)
4max … big blade big handle
But very small axle screw
Your name is *slicey dicey* after all...
Safe to say your grind style is very important hollow grind vs a Sabre grind vs full flat. Spydercos cut great because it’s a full flat.
you should have made it 20 knives! haha
What about da bugout
Would be in there if it was a top 15.
@@SliceyDicey understandable
What? No Bugout?
Not the top ten. Would have been in the top 15 or so.
A good factory edge hahahaha
Manix
No PM2?? its a slicing machine
That is the ugliest spyderco... I'm literally disgusted!!
It's a Spyderco thing. They're ugly until you've handled one😎
I think all the Spyderco are ugly
