I have been EDCin my modified Benchmade 531 Pardue lately. I like it better than Bugout with a classy G10 handle that is more sturdy and looks better than the bugout IMO. I contoured the handle a bit to improve the shape for grip, replaced the thumbstud and pocket clip with aftermarket titanium and aluminum hardware (deep carry clip) and tuned it. Beautiful knife now that weighs only 1.75 Oz.
I am enjoying my Appalachian Drifter at the moment. It's light, it's super quick to open and close and the blade is super slender making it cut through stuff like a hot knife through butter. Yeah it technically doesn't have a lock but the detent is quite strong and you would have to be doing some goofy stuff to close it on yourself. It is a lil spooky how fast it closes sometimes and I make sure to keep my fingers well away from the opening.
Manix 2 LW is one of the few knives I’ve picked up and thought ‘wow!’ The Bugout is super lightweight but considering the size of the blade on the manix..So much knife for the weight!
Love this! I often wear shorts (southern CA) and lightweight carry and pocket profile along with the ease of clipping it to lightweight fabric matters a lot in the summer (May-October) if I’m not going up in the mountains. Thanks for these!
What do you think about using the ka bar dozier as a self defense knife? I've been looking at different edc knives like rat 2, dozier, and spyderco but none really fit what I've been looking for in a knife: budget, small, lightweight, around 3in blade, and 3-3.5in handle. I like the dozier but the only problem I have with it is the handle. I'm afraid that If I ever had to stab something, my hand could possibly slip down onto the blade and I'd lose my fingers instead.
Good, solid list of lightweight knives that I certainly can't, and won't, argue with. I would however, like to add two honorable mentions. The Kershaw Atmos and the Civivi Chronic. I'm sure there are others, but I do have these two and they are great little lightweights to carry in nylon gym shorts.
Ka bar dozier for the win!! Love that knife! I accidentally threw one out when I was doing insulation work so sad... I had to buy 2 to replace it lol being a lefty it’s awesome and cheap too
I have listen to too way too many of your videos because I own all of these except the Kitefin and the Microtech. They are all good choices but my favorites are the Decca and Para 3 LW. The Decca is a great value.
Good list. My lightweight has been the TRM Neutron since I found one. Though I’m contemplating making some “swollen” scales for it, which would probably put it over 2.5oz🍻
how has your experience been with the neutron thumb studs? sometimes I consider cutting things with the thumb studs since they seem just as sharp as the blade lol jk?
My favorite light weight knife is the Boos Mini Smoke. Probably just because I like titanium a lot. It weights pretty much the same as the CF Elite Bugout but maybe that's considered cheating because it's a tiny little knife.
@@SliceyDicey I like the Dragonfly because it is relatively thin at .09 inches. It is good for opening letters, packages, and other every day tasks. By contrast, the Medford Praetorian T Frame has a blade thickness of .19 inches, so it would be more difficult to use for opening letters and packages, and some other every day tasks.
@@SliceyDicey I have the deka which I love but I have a feeling that extra .1 oz wont bother me. I really think am going to like Mini-RSK as much or more :)
Do you have Exchange privileges? Just asking because I know you’re an Air Force vet like myself and I picked up a 940-1 off AAFES at a very, VERY significant discount.
I carry a coldsteel broken skull, or airtight I could buy 2 of them to the price of one of these other knives i really just can't understand the fanboys love for benchmade way overpriced

I miss my Magnum scale, good old harbor freight.

Definitely some light carry knives! Great video Bryan!!

cutting edge on the manix 2 LW is 2.88, bugout is 3
Have one and like it, but it’s so damn W I D E.
@@antoinedoinell but still the blade on the Manix IS bigger🤔
@@krazykat64 great ergos, VERY great in the pocket🤨😉
Esoteric If you don’t mind not carrying anything else in there. 😂
Perfect selections!! I love all dees knives
That mini bugout with the Deadpool colorway is niiiice!
What do you think of the Kizer Original as a Bugout alternative??
Some great options.

Nice round up Bryan...you stay safe too.
Two years later and they still only sell the white and orange mini bugout! What are they thinking?
Great vid i need to get a dozier never had one
That's the 2nd time I've seen the Hogue today. Apparently I'm missing out. I'm sold!
For its size I'm really impressed with the relatively light weight of the police 4lw. Just got her in the mail. Love it, thanks again!
I almost bought a storm trooper, but it was a tad small in my sasquatch mitts, so I went for the CF elite instead. I ain't hating it either.
Great list Bryan, I could add so many that I like, though!
love this list. got my small sebenza CF insingo from knifeart that is one of my most carried and very light
DECA mmmmm, love that newport. So classy!
Love my Civivi McKenna! It will be impossible for me to find a lighter knife that is as cool and slicey.
Friends don't let friends carry M-Tech!

Almost put the Atmos in there, but I don't care for the Chronic. Ergos don't work for me.
Just ordered a chronic I hope I like it for a cheap lightweight
@@sterlingstoots3215 I really like my Chronic, but I have relatively small hands. Can't even come close to palming a basketball.

Was waiting for a Kershaw Leek or Dividend to appear.
I JUST watched your last lightweight video 1 hour ago and was hoping you would do an update soon.
I expect similar telepathic results in the future.

Just realized you're the reason I got a red scaled black coated blade ka bar dozier.
My favorite lightweight edc is the Anthony griffin monster thing that shabazz reviewed
Truly a man of refined tastes and experiences.

I was really surprised not to see the Mini Smoke make the cut. Maybe Bryan sold his?
Spyderco Dragonfly in zdp 189 steel.
Pretty small. Could easily just put in a bunch of 2.5" knives.

The Doug Ritter mini-RSK came out today it is 2.6 oz
Already ordered one! Still not under 2.5 though.

Surprised the Waypoint didn’t make the list. Although I haven’t weighed it. Also, how many different ways are there to spell McKenna?
My daughter spells it makenna.
My heart sank when I saw your Newport, I’ve got half of that knife in my Halfbreed but damn. It’s like a gent in short shorts.
Over 2.5 oz.
Well done on the spelling!
Eric Greaves I like it!
Mini smoke?
Ferrum forge GENT
Mine is JUST more than 2.5
@@SliceyDicey Oh wow i didnt know that figured it was lighter being titanium
👍👊
