thanks for sharing lods globe pa din ako wired 200mbps at malaki pa ang upload speed compare sa starlink
This is my perspective as someone who worked in wireless and works in wired communications.
1. If you live in the city get a fiber to the home(ftth) service available be it PDLT, Converge, Globe etc then have a mobile internet as back up (DITO preferred since mura).
2. If you live in areas with no FTTH and mobile internet option get Starlink.
3. If money is no object Get all.
4. If you travel a lot for work (basically live in your car) get Starlink.
5. If you live in the middle of the city surrounded by buildings, no clear visibility to the sky, FTTH is unreliable andcell service sucks then you're fucked.
Im speaking on a point of view of a starlink user since I started using it last March 4 after it was delivered by DHL. Download speed ranges from 170 to 265mbps. Upload speed is 15 to 25mbps. In comparison to my current service provider with 50mbps starlink is handsdown the winner. As far as outage is concerned, my current provider have frequent interruptions although it’s a fiber connection so i tend to disagree with some of the information in this video.
My discussion is based on generalization. Good your Starlink speed is a little faster than what is advertised. The speed test i've shown in this video is from my Converge Fiber subscription in my house. Thanks.
Starlink has room to upgrade, improve, evolve.
Good thing also with this US base provider is, if you got your connection interrupted, they won’t charge you for the full month unlike Philippines local providers.
@@mohamadabbas1276 Saying always goes, "Only in the Philippines".
I agree. Important to note as well that Starlink will only get better. This vlog did not age well :D
Thank you for this advisory. I think the key advantage Starlink has is you are not bound to a year-long contract. It is useful for holiday homes kasi you won't pay ₱20K per year for internet that you only use for maybe at most a month.
As a new user of starlink, I've never experienced those things mentioned in this video maybe the other guys had it but as for my personal experience starlink is way better than the pldt and globe I had before. I just installed the dish on my roof and the signal is ok and the met speed is awesome even though I'm living in a subdivision, a crowded one just to say...
Airplane interference? Nah... A passing plane will not be able to block ur signal to a point that you will notice it because it fly so fast over your location... Unless that plane lands on top of your dish it may block it out 😂 just kidding.
But starlink net speed is way better than those we had before as per experience
😂😂😂😂😂 matawa ako sa airplane ✈️
patawa yung nasa video pag may lumipad daw sa taas ma block ang connection😂😂😂
How about structural interference? Do still get signals if you are inside concrete walls or on multilevel floors??
Thanks for this information Sir.
Yes po, tama po kaya that there are several things to consider prior to subscribe or take Starlink as your ISP due to some reason as you mentioned.
As a starlink user for quiet some time now, basically starlink had good enough in providing wireless internet satellite based for remote area like dito sa amin where as FTTH is quiet expensive and have a binding contract.
Since ang main goal ni Starlink is to provide better internet connection for remote and rural areas, then that was their plus point as long as new subscriber can afford the starter kit.
Of course, when we compare it with FTTH ISP available in the town, and big cities, that's advantage points of fixed line. (Consistency and minimal disruption / obstruction).
For conclusion:
Whether we go with STARLINK or Existing Local ISP FTTH, it depends to user's preferences and budget.
Spacex is at the cutting edge of technology and the development of starlink never stops. The latest version of their starlink is version 2 mini being loft by their workhorse falcon 9 reusable 1st stage. At current constellation of more than 4000 satellite no one can ever compete with spacex starlink. As the satellite continue to increase in number the latency will improve as well as speed. The version 2 have laser connectivity & will not require any ground station. The target number of satellite is 40,000 which is a lot & will take several years to complete. But once their new starship finished the test stage and will be able to loft about 240 starlink satellite per launch then there will be significant change. The next service that elon musk is targeting is voice transmission via starlink. It will be possible once the full size version 2 is put to low earth orbit. It also has 4x the current capacity of version 1.5. Bright things ahead
In my first video two years ago, when Starlink was still new, i've mentioned that Starlink promised to lower latency down to 16-19ms from 20-40ms at that time. Today, the published latency is 25-50ms.
I'm sure Stalink is improving this.
Starlink is not for everyone, Starlink is for people who can afford.
However in time of calamity, "THE BIG ONE EARTHQUAKE", traditional mode of communication all break down, we will look for people who have Starlink, hum radio, satphone especially in provinces remote area.
Ukraine-Russia war is evident.
I brought the same thing up in my comment ....agree
This is the best advantage (coupled with a non-utility company related power supply say solar or battery?)
Mali kasi ang pagkakaintindi ng mga tao kung para sa ano tlg ang main purpose ni starlink, kung pupunta ka sa page ni starlink nakasabi doon na "low-latency broadband internet in remote and rural locations across the globe", broadband for sure it is not wired while offering low-latency internet in I will quote again "remote and rural locations" ibig sabihin" areas that are located outside towns and cities or countryside, now ang dapat ecompare na internet dapat kay starlink is yung internet data provided by telcos here in PH na nasa "remote and rural locations" which I am sure 100% starlink will best.
In conclusion Starlink best the telcos here in PH in comparison with the broadband data internet they provides while in remote and rural areas.
Ganun kasimple.
i been thinking to buy one since im in australia and i like to travel ona remote location no access on internet or wifi this starlink is ideal for someone like me on the road. i def will purchase while still available at low cost
Pang remote location toh n d abot ng normal infra telco patok s mga ns island or high in da mountans dis can handle up 168 - 200 devices depending on the model ng rounter pr m cover initial chip in nlng s fees after nun kc mura un 2.7k if mdmi mghhti .If ns places k n abot ng local telco un ang better option like for me I'm in makati I was able to avail da promo 1499 hitting 300-400 mbps .
Handsdown clear winner ..comparing the services of other land based providers..
Starlink was designed for archipelago -- those unfortunate Filipinos who lives in the remote places and far far away islands. Say thank you to Starlink ! These will generate more jobs to the country. Foreign investors now has an option and venture a business in the Philippines.
Problem is can most of these unfortunate Filipinos afford the cost?
Nope
@@Hyperion1722 but with that speed, you can cater like 10families with it. lol
and can also run for a whole school.
why not purchase it as a community/tribe/neighborhood/school.
im talking about for remote areas.
you've seen jessica sojos episode about teachers in remote areas struggling to get a signal for their modules and research. :3
@MSJI 1722 you are only thinking about yourself. What about the poor school districts that the govt can subsidize?
Starlink will help a lot of poor people (young and old) to advance themselves and be able to reach and enhance their abilities to greater information technology.
AGREE....now that the business deal has been changed to 100% owned by incoming businesses not the 60/40 cut as before that kept real business out .
Hope the equipment price be lowered and subscription flexibility.
It is worth it's price.
Ok kaayo imong video sir. Salamat!
planning to change po from pldt to starlink. 2800 plan din namin sa pldt. parang worth it long term
Pano po pag may bagyo o maulap as mention sa video kasama yung weather. How's the experience po ? Mabagal po ba ?
For remote areas talaga ang target market
Very informative 👏.
It's an ADVISORY. I don't need Starlink. Mas malakas yong aking fiber net connection kaysa Starlink. Watch this video para sa update-- ruclips.net/video/cvPlXvFplc4/видео.html
Burstable po kasi even pldt and globe and the rest ..
no need starlink towers ?mga individual order of sat dish kit
mas maganda madami internet provider, consumer ang maka benefits yan.
Starlink, as it is intended for, is good for remote areas where all other internet connections media are not available. Otherwise, fiber optic is still the best medium for connectivity.
pls prove
@@methamor5351 proof? gogol mo..
@@methamor5351 The fact that you can get the same speeds for a cheaper price. I recommend buying Starlink if it's your only option because the alternative is Cignal which is 2-4 times more expensive than starlink and is slower.
@@mars_j5479 I can afford
@@methamor5351 Then If you can afford Starlink is better because there will be almost no downtime if you have a generator/battery. There's no line/optic fiber (which is more sensitive) to worry about.
Starlink have a self adjusting feature to always find the nearest satellite, and spacex have plenty of low-orbit satellites so you won't have that many issues in disconnection unless the provider itself is down.
500-600 pesos/month ng internet pldt o globe?! anong branch?
Good yan pra sa pinas kc maraming island n walang poste .
When it comes to cost, people has no other choice but subscribe to prepaid data plans. Take for example, sa Kalayaan island, merong Smart LTE. People in rural areas, in general, simply can not afford Starlink.
The government can have a Starlink installation in remote areas but not for individual use.
So, business-wise, traditional internet service still to be patronized by poor people. Tanggapin natin ang katotohanan.
Good news...

It is straight forward not meamt for cities with cable/fiber optic.
This is for unreachable areas where no coverage of local Telcos simple as that.
Rain contantly knocks out my starlink. I don't recommend it...im back to 5G.
I have a question, does it matter po kaya kung saan ang shipping address?ilalagay ko kasi sya sa farmhouse namin then dito ko lng iaadress sa residential house nmin sa Aklan.walang pumapasok na delivery sa farm namin dahil bukid.Salamat
I haven't tried subscribing but i believe the 'service address' where you plan to set up the kit is different from shipping address. Check the starlink website to be sure.
From what I read from another vlogger, it will only work on the address you’re suppose to install it when you placed your starlink order because it has a location code. So if you order it Manila as your base but planning to use it in the province it will not work and vice versa because the location codes are different.
almost P30,000 hardware and monthly cost is a barrier.
for those teachers that need these kind of services, that's nothing.
Cheaper than cignal
In short sir not applicable for youtuber like us hehehe anyway type of internet connection symmetrical and asymmetrical internet connection they are using asymmetrical thats why,,,, :) hope can help..
Obviously you are just speaking by relying thru what you read, not by experiencing it.
Obviously, you lack comprehension. This video is a guide for those who are planning to subscribe to Starlink so that they could weigh in. This video was made when everyone in the PH has yet to receive their kit.

Is the Ethernet ports expandable to multiple ports?
You need the adaptor as mentioned in the video.

Does it have an option for bridge mode? Or bypass starlink Wi-Fi router?
It uses a so-called Starlink port from the dishy.
@@HiTechTaBai I mean in the app. Does it have the option to toggle bypass starlink Wi-Fi router? In the US it has just making sure if it is still available in the PH
How could it bypass on the app when you need to connect physically to the Starlink router?
@@HiTechTaBai oh okay. Thank you
UPDATE: I just found out there's a 'Bypass Mode' which can be enabled via the Starlink app. Using the mode will completely disable the built-in Starlink Wifi router functionality. But again, you need the ethernet adapter to use the Bypass Mode and use third-party router.
Then, you need manual factory reset to use the Bypass Mode.
To complicate further, Starlink does not guarantee their app will work with other routers.
Starlink has no Wifi router administrator portal. Everything should be configured on the app.
I hope this info helps.
The presentation was based on your readings and not on your actual experience. Sana nag google na lang ako. Your discussion is very frustrating and unreliable. I was waiting for your actual use. Nothing is better than experience.

it should work the same. since these satellites are not being blocked by mountains.. you only need to see where these satellites are passing by and see their coverage.
Pag umakyat ka ng bundok at dun ka tumira for your remote work.
in theory, you should have lesser latency, because its closer to the satellite/orbit🤣
(yeah i know im ignoring a lot of how your data is being sent:received)
Mag starlink kasi ang mga US soldier sa pinas kaya nag ka starlink sa pinas.hirap sa signal ang mga sundalong kano last year kung saan may balikatan exercise.
Maybe, it makes sense. Thanks.
@@HiTechTaBai Isa tayo sa mga internet-user-addicts in the world and data is actually more important nowadays than gold, it has nothing to do with military whatsoever. Whoever runs the internet controls the data/information. They are not even prioritizing us whatsoever, they are just expanding and we just happen to be in the equator where most satellites they already launch pass by mostly. :3
This move by Starlink doesnt have to be political. and if you are not caught up with their SpaceX activity, they are launching hundreds of sats per week - that's 2 rocket launches per week. That's them working on another project for Mars Mission they are using these Sat launches as a test for that mission too. Its purely business for Starlink. Noone is getting prioritized, some places just happen to be in the right spot for coverage.
@@pr0x1madigitalWe have lot of questions: Why chose PH when there's Singapore and Malaysia in SEA where citizens are in the middle class. Why not Indonesia which is lower in internet penetration than PH but lots of population?
Why only choose Japan among other countries in Asia?
There's basis of any speculation that the U.S. has a little say where Starlink should position. Starlink received $885.5 million subsidy in 2020 from the U.S. government.
@@HiTechTaBai yeah why? because probably we are already bought by the US. Look at our media, our modern culture, etc.,
no need to go extra mile to put an american flag on our lands.. they already done that. And that's probably why they get easy approval to enter here. I'm not trying to be political here, but we already accepted US in our government.
And I have no problem with that. But Starlink entering here is most likely not because of their military. Its probably just a business move from one of their private entities.

Iam feeling this video is not here to sell Starlink. The internet and cell service suppliers that are in the Philippines and have been here for years are going to have to finally upgrade the systems they have or lots of customers will walk away, and when you hear people who has been in the Philippines for years having the same complaints today that they had many years ago!!!!!!! . I have talked to many foreigners who have Starlink in the Philippines that was brought with them from back home and have nothing but good things to say . No dropping ,plenty of Mbps ,not effected with brownouts if you have a generator or solar energy source making it great for catastrophes like Odette so no need to wait for the local carriers to get back up and running. The technologies of Starlink as a whole is eons ahead of any provider of its kind. As I said its time for these companies who provide this type of service in the Philippines to improve or be in a bad spot . They have taken advantage of customers long enough and now its time to pay up.
